Chapter 81: Soulmancy

Atlas shrugged his shoulders at those words and said, "Something happened; that’s the result." He then focused on his inventory. He held his magic bag in his hand and furtively rummaged through it, searching for the scroll of ability.

After a brief moment, Cordelia’s gaze locked directly on Atlas as he pulled out the scroll.

"Where did you get that?" Cordelia suddenly asked.

"Lady Nyx gave it to me as a gift," Atlas said in great curiosity, but lying a little.

"Very good, it’s quite valuable, who knows, maybe you’ll get a spell worthy of the gods," Cordelia replied. After a very short time, she finished her meal, sat on the seat next to Atlas, and said, "Go on, tear it up."

Atlas gave her a look as if to say alright, and then tore the scroll of talent in his hand in half.

With that, a system window appeared in front of Atlas:

[Talent scroll torn, preparing talent to be granted!]

With that, Atlas looked around and under the gaze of Bellatrix, Juliet and Cassandra, who had finished eating, said, "I’m waiting."

[Soulmancer(Legendary+++++/Active)

Summoners exist on many levels. Life, death and the line of time itself may not tell everything neatly. You, on the other hand, have the possibility of possessing the very fabric of life, death, and time itself.

The user can summon elemental spirits of a certain power.

When the ability is used, the spirits the user summons will have the power to counter 10% of the damage dealt.

The user can increase the power of the spirits they summon and summon more spirits per magic power and magic ring in the body].

Atlas smiled at the quality of the ability when this ability window opened in front of him and couldn’t help but think to himself happily, "Wow." Then another system window appeared in front of him:

[Do you want to learn the skill’s usage pattern and runes?

YES/NO]

Atlas was surprised to see this system window. He couldn’t understand why his mind wasn’t overflowing with information like it was with the other abilities, yet this system window seemed to be the thing that told him the answer to that question.

"You see that window thingy?"

Atlas shook his head when he heard Cordelia’s sudden question and then asked, "Yes, my lady...how did you know?"

"I’ve managed to earn six or seven scrolls of talent in my lifetime, the gods and goddesses love me, you know? I don’t really understand what they are, but they help me learn the ability," Cordelia replied.

With Cordelia’s answer, Atlas realised that this system was partially visible to everyone. The gods and goddesses must have used different methods to give gifts to others. Though this gift to Atlas from Chronos could be seen as one of those ways.

"I understand, my lady..." Atlas muttered.

"Well then, what are you waiting for?" Cordelia questioned, forcing Atlas to gain the ability.

Atlas had pressed the ’yes’ button directly, and at that moment, more information began to flow into his head than ever before.

Even when he learnt the teachings of Perseus, he didn’t remember having this much difficulty.

He suddenly grabbed his head on the seat he was sitting on because of the pain and unnecessary pain he felt, and Cassandra went directly to him and tried to calm Atlas down.

Atlas felt as if hundreds of needles were being inserted into his skull every second. But these needles seemed to be stabbing from the inside of his skull. It had to be said that it was an incredibly itchy sensation, but more painful than itchy.

Cassandra hugged Atlas tightly and did her best to calm him down. It wasn’t that it didn’t work, the pain and ache in Atlas’ head was actually easing, it was strange but it was the truth.

After a few minutes, when the pain disappeared, Atlas said "I’m fine" and Cassandra finally stopped hugging him.

Tiny drops of blood poured from Atlas’s nostrils. After the heavy load on his brain, his brain must have thought an attack was coming. Just like the activities of the brain when it reacted to the poison and unknowingly made the poison mix faster into the bloodstream.

Cordelia wiped Atlas’ nose with a handkerchief at that moment and then asked, "What kind of ability did you get?"

Atlas said, "Let me show you, my lady," and opened his palm as Cordelia and the other three withdrew.

Atlas realised that this was not a spell that could be spoken or put into words. It was a hyper-complex spell, even for him.

That’s why he closed his eyes and began to release low levels of mana from his open palm. Each of these mana fragments formed a line and began to form a high-level rune itself.

Inside a hectagon, the symbols of the elements of flame, water, air and earth were drawn by the mana fragments and then these symbols were surrounded by triangles and the rune was completed.

A second later, the rune began to glow, and then something began to climb out of the rune.

Something with angry eyes, yet so cute, suddenly stopped in the palm of Atlas’ hand, and the people around were as surprised as Atlas, who suddenly opened his eyes.

"A...gecho?" Bellatrix suddenly questioned.

There was a gecho in Atlas’ hand. It was a crimson coloured gecho that was constantly creating and extinguishing flames around it.

Atlas couldn’t help smiling at this cute thing. The gecho was constantly cleaning its face with its tongue and twirling around in Atlas’ palm.

"Hey..." said Atlas suddenly.

Gecho stopped in his tracks, looked at Atlas with questioning and curious eyes, and waited.

It seemed that Atlas had made a little friend.

When Atlas looked at the gecho in his hand and called out to him, he couldn’t help but ask, "What can you do?"

Gecho’s gaze and goofy posture was not something that made him weak. The little animal suddenly burst into flames and jumped out of Atlas’ hand, waddling around.

It was fast. It had a serious speed for its size.

It must have been borrowing Atlas’s power because it could use different types of flames. This was what surprised Cordelia and the others.

"How is that possible?" Cordelia questioned, never having encountered anything other than a spirit or an elemental king directly using the upper echelon of the elements.

Gecho began spewing flames around the room after a short circumnavigation, and each flame had a power rating equal to that of a wizard with three magic rings. This was able to further emphasise the type of functioning of the ability.

Atlas had obtained three monsters in close total with his power...well, it would be more accurate to say two monsters and a spirit.

Cordelia took a sudden glance towards Atlas and said with curious eyes, "I think you have something that you hide from me."

Atlas, on the other hand, tried to avert his eyes from her for fear of being beaten by his teacher Atlas, but with Cordelia getting under his skin, he couldn’t stand it anymore and spoke:

"I might be able to use a few colours..." Atlas muttered.

"Which ones?" asked Cordelia as she sat back in the seat behind him, as if she couldn’t believe anything and felt like she was in a dream.

Atlas opened his palm and flames formed in his hand, black, white and green respectively, and not only Cordelia but also the other Sages’ faces were filled with surprise but also a strange joy.

"Atlas..." Juliet said suddenly and then asked, "Could you have unknowingly gained a blessing from Hestia or Hephaestus?"

Atlas smiled and said, "As far as I know, no, my lady, I only have the blessing of Lady Nyx and I must say that it makes me very strong. Ah... And the blessing of the hero Perseus. Though that was more of a teaching than a blessing." he replied.

Bellatrix smiled and then said, "Not only Lady Nyx but also Lord Perseus? An impressive achievement indeed." and she fell silent.

After all these words, Cordelia put her hand on her head as if she was overwhelmed and then looked at Atlas and said, "My dear student...I don’t understand how your body can handle all these powers."

"Excuse me, professor? What is that even supposed to mean?" Atlas questioned, realising that he had encountered something he had heard for the first time both in his previous life and in his current life.

"There is nothing not to understand. Black ice, three types of flame, a superior predisposition in all the elements you use...Your body should have technically exploded. These powers should have given incredible weight to both your body and your soul." Cordelia replied.

Hearing these words, Atlas scratched his head and questioned in a seriously worried manner, "My body is in a very good condition...Could it be because I harbour both aura and mana in my body?"

Cordelia instantly came to her senses and said, "Ah...it’s possible...let me check your body."

With that, Cordelia got up from her seat, re-entered Atlas and began a scan, softly touching his chest. They all had to pray that nothing was wrong.
