Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 82: I Will Have To Go
Chapter 82: I Will Have To Go
When Cordelia uttered these words, she calmly checked Atlas’ body and found no definite distress. More precisely, there didn’t seem to be much of a problem at the moment.
It could only be said that Atlas’ body was close to exploding....Well...This was a problem she thought but...not a main one.
"Your body is extremely weakened," Cordelia muttered, her gaze revealing that she wasn’t lying and the tone of her voice clearly worrying Atlas.
"Uh...so what should I do?" asked Atlas, he still had the Diamond Body skill to train, but if he could acquire other things along with it, it would be quite useful to him.
Cordelia thought for a while and then replied, "I know some people, I could ask for some aura arts for you, to improve your body."
Atlas shook his head and said, "I would be grateful, my lady." and then he held his hand out towards the gecho and the animal ran to Atlas and disappeared in his palm.
The little gecho was back in his mood.
"So... can I talk to you about the real reason I came here?" Atlas suddenly asked.
Cordelia shook her head and said, "Yes."
Atlas coughed a little, then said, "Well, to tell you the truth, even if it’s a little early, I’ll have somewhere to go after half of the next school year. Somewhere I probably won’t be back for months."
"Where?" Cordelia asked with great curiosity.
"The Kingdom of Akairon," replied Atlas.
The four Sages were astonished at the name they had heard. Akairon was an extremely dangerous kingdom. It was a strange place with different laws, in some places even killing was allowed.
It was a strange place where slavery was quite normal and there were no rights for women, men or children.
It would be quite natural to say that it was a country ruled by tyranny under the brutal and oppressive rule of the head of the kingdom, the king.
"Impossible," Cordelia suddenly muttered, not stupid enough to send Atlas there.
Atlas immediately pursed his lips and then questioned, "I don’t understand, why?"
At Atlas’ question, Cassandra sat down next to him and then took his hand and said, "Atlas, we Sages hesitate to use our powers directly. We are the ones who could rewrite the whole world and everyone’s destiny if we wanted to. Still, we are not good beings, we couldn’t care less about any of them. But you are different, we care about you, and to tell you the truth, even the grumpiest of us, Cain, is attracted to your good charm. It would be illogical to send this person to a land where he could be killed."
Atlas shook his head from side to side and then said, "I have someone to find, I will have to go." and then looked Cassandra in the eyes.
Atlas’ words were like a dagger in each of their hearts. Who could have asked him to put himself in so much danger that he would risk travelling across the continent to find someone when he was so powerless.
"You’re weak," Bellatrix muttered.
"I’ll get stronger," Atlas replied.
"You can’t get enough power, I’ll be against you leaving until you’re a mage with at least five magic rings and a level three aura," Juliet muttered, feeling like she had to say those words even if she didn’t have a say for Cordelia’s student.
"It will be difficult, but not impossible," Atlas muttered, perhaps he could enlist the help of other gods or goddesses, like Perseus had done, and manage to gain mana or aura mass.
It really wasn’t impossible.
"This person..." Cordelia said suddenly, her gaze locked on him, "how important are they to you?" she added.
Atlas stood still for about ten seconds after this sudden question. "As much as I would sacrifice my life," he replied with an emotionless expression. fɾeewebnoveℓ.co๓
As soon as Atlas said these words, Cordelia smiled and asked, "When you continue to live, you realise that some people are not worth anything, Atlas, how can you be sure of what you are saying? How can you be so sure that that person is valuable?"
"I don’t know that person, yet I know a part of my destiny, let’s just say that Lady Nyx is a good narrator," Atlas said, again choosing to use Nyx’s name in a lie, but it was necessary.
"You value someone you don’t know enough to sacrifice your life for them?" muttered Cordelia and then nodded, "Very well," she said.
The three Sages and Atlas were taken aback, clearly not expecting those words.
"Uh...All right?" muttered Atlas.
"But I have one condition. Just like Juliet said, by halfway through next year you will be a Fifth-Grade mage and close to creating your sixth magic ring. And on top of that, you will become a Third-Grade aura warrior. If you believe you can do these things, you have my permission," Cordelia said.
Atlas was about to thank her with great joy when Cordelia suddenly raised her hand and told him to shut up and continued her speech:
"Still, you are a Duke now. That’s why you won’t go alone. That is not possible. In that case, I will send one of my followers with you, so you will be safe up to a certain level. And if you get stronger, there will be no problem."
Cordia finished and Atlas bowed his head politely and said, "Thank you, Professor."
With that, he prepared to stand up and was stopped by Cassandra just as he was about to get up.
"We have something to talk about," Cassandra said suddenly and pulled out some papers, practically pinning Atlas to the couch.
After handing the papers to Atlas, she smiled and said, "I need your signature, every one of them."
Atlas took the papers in his hand to look at what these papers were and was frankly surprised, many construction and district inspection documents were now in his hands in the form of papers.
They were really important documents.
