Chapter 86: Hecate

Atlas checked the enormity of the mana layer in his body as he sat there and realised that he still needed a little more mana to create the fourth magic ring.

Truth be told, he probably had about 70% of the capacity he should have.

He could already start creating the magic ring. Many people were already creating magic rings this way with meditation, but instead, it was much more correct in his eyes to do everything at once and lose all the aches and pains that would penetrate the body.

That’s exactly why he switched the system back on. He knew who the other person he had to choose was. Perhaps he would meet someone with whom he could learn sealing techniques, learn more about runes, and maybe even correct that line in the foundation of magic.

Hecate.

After a little tinkering with his Hero Connecting ability, he managed to find Hecate’s name and began to get excited about the fourth holy being he would meet.

Nyx, Daughter of Chaos, Perseus the Monster Slayer, Gaia, Mother Nature, and now Hecate, Goddess of Magic.

As soon as he clicked on the name, he was presented with a confirmation and a rejection notification, and of course, he had immediately chosen to confirm his choice. When he blacked out and woke up again, he realised that he was in a very different place this time.

Nevertheless, because of his superior knowledge of the history of magic and its gods and goddesses, he was able to understand where he was. Eventually he came to Hecate’s side.

"Pathways..." Atlas muttered. Hecate’s other rank was...Goddess of Pathways. As one of the Silver Sisters, she was said to control the region between the underworld, heaven and the mortal world, and was the one who guided the spirits.

Artemis, as a notr goddess, finalises the ones needed to be finalised, Melinoë senses their souls, Selene sends them to the pathways, and Hecate guides them, choosing whether they will be in the pain of the mortal world, in hell, that is, in Hades, divided into three, subjected to eternal suffering, or in the eternal golden meadows in heaven.

In short, this was how Atlas was able to understand where he was.

The stars could be seen through the area filled with trees, and the moonlight hit the earth through the leaves and branches.

The sounds of animals and spirits were audible to the naked ear.

The air was warm but dry.

He stood up instantly and then took a deep breath and started walking. He was aware of the sounds of conversation coming from afar. When he started to move towards the voices, he could hear the sound of a fire in a clearing and the light it spread around.

"Crackle-Pop-Hsss-Crackle!!!"

The sound emitted by the fire was loud, it would be correct to say that it was a big fire.

When he entered the area with slow steps, he encountered four people sitting side by side. Frankly speaking, he did not expect to see four women together.

Melinoë, Artemis, Selene and Hecate were sitting around a table, respectively. A fire, perhaps five times bigger than Atlas, stood in the centre of the camp.

Atlas at least thought that Artemis would be on Olympus and Selene would be among the stars, but it was a great chance to see them here.

Each of them was beautiful, but when Atlas looked at Selene, he involuntarily shuddered. It wasn’t hard for him to realise who was the most beautiful person he had seen since Nyx.

Her snow-white hair, grey eyes, quite the dark skin and dull gaze were incredibly beautiful.

Apart from Melinoë and Artemis, it would be normal to say that the two Titans were perhaps close to three metres tall. They were truly gigantic, yet they had a ’titan’ look about them, as if they were comically related to their name.

Atlas smiled and then bowed his head in greeting to the quartet before introducing himself:

"Atlas Shorekeeper greets the Silver Sisters."

At Atlas’ words, each of the sisters smiled broadly, and then Artemis said, "You seem to know something about us."

"I am very interested in magic, my lady, and that is why I came across you while researching the stories and legends of Lady Hecate. Of course, I knew all of you before, but I managed to master the details a little," Atlas replied.

Melinoë gestured for Atlas to sit down, then filled one of the empty glasses on the table with a drink and offered it to Atlas as he sat down.

"You seem to want to meet with the gods and goddesses one after the other, I asked Lady Nyx rudely, and the reason for this is that you want to increase your mana and aura, right?" Melinoë suddenly asked.

Atlas nodded his head up and down and replied, "Yes, my lady, that is correct."

With the words of Atlas, Hecate created a book out of nothing and placed it in front of him.

Atlas, who took the book, saw a title called [God Language Arts] on it and looked at Hecate with great curiosity.

"There will be something useful for you in the future. The language of the gods is especially used to train dragons. Mystical beasts, to be more precise. I can sense the two cats in your shadow in the real world, and you can have more like that. On top of that, it is a book that will improve you a lot in runes and help you make runes faster, so it is more valuable than a skill."

Atlas sent the book to his inventory as soon as he heard this answer, then gulped down the drink in the glass in front of him.

The drink was incredibly flavourful. It was as if Atlas had thought that he would never be able to drink something this good again in his life. It was like something that strengthened his soul, strengthened every single sensation in his body that existed in the real world.

It was a drink that could define the word mesmerising, but...it was just a drink, wasn’t it?

As he was thinking these thoughts, he turned his head to the four women around him and noticed the smile on Melinoë’s face.

He wondered what she had drunk, he didn’t even know.
