Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 85: Two Of Them?
Chapter 85: Two Of Them?
As he popped the second leaf into his mouth, he realised that the amount of mana he had gained had decreased slightly. He had still managed to gain a higher level of mana, but it was only half the mana that the potion he had made had given him. He would need ten, perhaps fifteen times that mana if he wanted to create the fourth magic ring.
With the second leaf down his throat, he realised that he had not gained any ability and with the great hope he still had, he sent the third leaf down his throat.
This time something had formed in his mind. He managed to realise that he had gained something at the mana threshold.
At that moment, a system window appeared in front of him:
[Dead Plains(Legendary++++/Active)
Gaia, the mother of nature, one of the starting points of life, has of course seen death itself, Thanatos and many others with her own eyes since the beginning of the universe. So all that remains is to create this ability.
When the user uses the ability, they create a 30 metre dead plains.
Enemies that enter the zone will lose 15% of their speed, defence and strength.
Friends who enter the zone created by the user will gain 15% more speed, defence and strength.
When the user uses the ability, they will automatically have a healing power. If the user already has a passive healing ability, the speed of this ability will be increased by 200%].
Atlas smiled inwardly when he read what was written in the system window in front of him. He had not expected to have such a high quality ability. He had many abilities to weaken enemies, but he was not complaining.
After using some abilities once, they could not be used again for a while. To solve this problem, the target on which the ability was cast would have to die or reach a rank that would no longer be affected by the ability.
Or the user had to be close to the target and deactivate the ability, or in modern terms, the spell.
The Sight ability possessed by Atlas was exactly like this. It steals a power from the enemy, but fixes this spell, or in Atlas’ case, the ability, to only one person.
So he was happy to have another similar ability in this situation.
The only thing missing from this ability was that the ability did not follow him in Atlas’ eyes. Although Atlas hadn’t tested the ability yet, so there was no way to be sure. It was just his opinion.
Nevertheless, Atlas was quite pleased with the third leaf, and without stopping, he shoved the fourth leaf down his throat.
Nothing had happened.
The fifth leaf went down his throat.
Nothing happened again.
The sixth and seventh leaves also went down his throat.
Still nothing happened.
Atlas, with only the stem of the flower left in his hand, was inwardly praying to Nyx right next to him at a time when he thought he had already won enough.
He wished to gain something from this flower stem or stalk.
With that, he put the flower stem directly into his mouth and then swallowed it with great hope.
At that moment, information started flowing into his mind again, an event that made him cry with joy. Even though what he had gained was only worth a ’Normal’ ability, more spells had been added to his magic encyclopaedia.
This was a wonderful event.
After a painful headache that lasted only a minute or so, Atlas smiled and quickly realised that he didn’t need to do so much training for the element of nature after what was written in the system window in front of him.
[Nature’s Help(?????/Passive)
Gaia, the mother of nature, has chosen you. She begs you to help them, even if she has not pinned her hopes and the lives of mortals on Earth on you. She begs you to use this power carefully.
The ability is always active.
The ability grants the user 200% proficiency in all things related to the element of nature.
Spells cast with the element of nature will deal 30% more damage.
Defences made with nature elemental will take 30% less damage.
The user’s {Intelligence} stat is increased by 40].
Atlas closed the window as soon as he read the system window, but at that moment, the unbearable pain in his head began to ache as if it had evolved.
It was as if he could feel his brain starting to change. It was quite a painful process, but the good thing was that needles were not being inserted into Atlas’ skull as before.
The pain lasted for almost twenty minutes, and when Atlas finally looked around, he realised that he was seeing things differently.
"Intelligence," Atlas muttered to himself, the only reason everything was so clear.
He hadn’t thought much about how useful their status was until now. Even if they were important, they were just numbers to Atlas. After all, even he hadn’t seen anything like this in his previous life or his current one, that is, until he’d won the system.
"This... is... beautiful," Atlas muttered afterwards. Looking at Nyx and Gaia, he was able to see their clear and mighty selves much more clearly and easily.
He laughed and got down on one knee in front of Gaia and said, "Thank you, my lady, you have not only given me mana, but also two valuable abilities. I cannot thank you enough."
Gaia smiled and said, "There is not much I have done. Nyx asked me to help you if you came round. I know you’re a lucky boy, even if you’re low on mana, I was sure you’d at least get a very good skill, and it was in my best interest to give you a little mana side that."
Nyx sneered at his answer. The beautiful woman knew immediately that Gaia was mocking her.
Atlas bowed to the duo and indicated that he wanted to leave to visit the next person.
After a short period, he lost consciousness and when he opened his eyes again, he found himself sitting on the sofa in his room.
The mana in his body was enormous. Not enough to create another magic ring but it was still enormous.
It was clear that there was a lot to do.
