Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 88: Ares’ Help
Chapter 88: Ares’ Help
It was like he didn’t know who to choose between the two.
On the one hand, there was a god he could choose. There was Ares, the god of war, and on the other side there was Odysseus, the greatest hero of all time and perhaps the man with the most painful story.
These thoughts flashed through his mind one after the other, but Atlas still thought it would be better to choose a god. Odysseus was a person he wanted to meet, but what he was going to do was to choose the one who could make him even more powerful.
When he started to look at the system window in the Hero Connecting ability in detail, he managed to find Ares’ name directly, and then, confirming his own decision, he woke up in an unknown place with a fainting again.
As far as he could see, there were vines full of vines around him and a path along which the vines were moving.
When Atlas stood up and followed the path, he saw a red-haired man sitting on a throne with a muscular body, a jet-black shredded armour and a sword in his hand.
The man’s face was full of scars, but this did not seem to go against his stature. This person was, of course, Ares himself.
"I realise what you came here for, but I don’t know if you’re good enough for it," Ares said suddenly.
While Atlas was trying to understand what was going on, Ares suddenly appeared in front of him and then asked, "Tell me, why are you swinging your sword?"
Atlas was neither surprised nor expectant when he heard this question, he answered directly, "For my family."
Even though Ares seemed surprised to get an answer in a second, he did not forget to say, "You only have your sister as your family."
Atlas smiled when he heard these words and then said, "You are not wrong, sir, my blood relation is only with my sister. However, I have a much bigger family than you can imagine." While uttering these words, he was thinking not only about his current life but also about his previous life.
Some people were at his service even when he had to sleep with death, people he considered as his family. They were among the rare people he was sure they were not bad.
They had chosen to follow him even in his stupid life, when he was poisoned and poisoned, when he started to work only for humanity.
Atlas hadn’t forgotten any of them. He couldn’t. freёnovelkiss.com
"And how far would you go for your family?" Ares asked calmly, returning to his throne and asking curiously.
Atlas paused for a few seconds this time. In Ares’ eyes, no human had a pure mindset. That was why the god of war had become a god who chose to give blessings to all races except humans.
Even Pixies could earn a blessing from Ares, but so far there was not a single person known in history who had earned a blessing from Ares.
"I could burn the world for them, sir, I’m sure of it," Atlas replied.
Ares nodded, then ripped off a piece of his armour with his bare hands and threw it in front of Atlas.
When Atlas picked up the armour on the ground, he used his Observation ability, which he hadn’t used for a long time, to find out what it was and learned that the name of the item was [Star Chestplate Piece].
"It is a very special piece of armour, a dwarf must melt it down, if you know a good dwarven blacksmith, ask him to do it. There is enough metal in it to turn it into a knife. It is quite valuable, you are hunting devil worshippers, right? It is a metal that can directly harm even the devils themselves, let alone the devil worshippers." said Ares.
Hearing these words, Atlas sent the piece of armour directly to his inventory and continued to look at Ares with curious eyes. He was greedy enough to ask for more, but he had to do it. He might have enough mana to create the fourth magic ring, but his aura was only at the beginning of the second level.
"Puff...." Ares suddenly exhaled in exasperation, then ordered, "Come sit across from me."
Atlas sat directly in front of Ares, right in front of the throne, and waited to see what would happen next. At that moment, Atlas felt Ares’ hand on his back, a huge energy entering his body.
Atlas could understand that aura energy was transferred to his body. More precisely, he was in the world of the gods, so this aura energy was transferred directly to his soul, but his soul was able to transfer the aura energy to his body as if he was a carrier, just like when he gained mana.
It was incredible.
After almost ten minutes of transference, Atlas realised that there was indeed a huge amount of energy in his body in the real world.
Perhaps thirty per cent of his aura level was complete. This might have been seen as an incomplete flow of energy, even though it had been transferred by a god, but it was gigantic. It might have taken him five or even six months to recover the thirty per cent to level up Atlas’ aura.
It was a long time, and that was enough to show why aura was more difficult than mana.
It was a painful process.
When Atlas got up and tried to leave, he turned to Ares as if something had suddenly occurred to him, and then bowed his head respectfully this time, first thanking him and then saying the following words:
"My sister. She may be a human, but she is even more honourable than me. She is a woman without evil in her heart. If you give my sister a chance, she will not disappoint you, dear Ares. Forgive my rudeness for speaking over your thoughts, I just wanted to point it out."
As Atlas finished, his eyes darkened, as if he had learnt to come back on his own, and as soon as he fell to the ground, he opened his eyes back to the real world.
It was time to move on.
Atlas had opened his eyes in the real world and realised reality.
However, he had used all three of his rights. He would get another right when he tried to create the fourth magic ring, but there was nothing to do that right now. What he needed to do was to create the magic ring as soon as possible and start a week of deep, personal meditation, or as it is also called, training.
So he got out of bed as if nothing was wrong and sat cross-legged on the hard floor, then closed his eyes and assumed the meditation position.
He found himself seeing the rings around his heart. The great layer of mana around his heart was incredibly large. It was a mana layer that could be obtained by multiplying the sum of the mana layer in the first three magic ring formations by at least ten times.
Atlas realised that he should not delay his work any longer and that he should create the fourth magic ring as soon as possible instead of admiring it.
That’s why he managed to pull his focus away from admiring it without stopping, and then he started breathing deeply.
He began to suppress the layer of mana, and then began to acclimatise the mana into his body by passing it around the veins and cells covered with aura.
At that moment, he withdrew the mana and began to place it around his heart in the form of a magic ring.
As the magic ring began to form around his magic heart, the pressure in his body began to increase. This was how he realised why he didn’t want to form the magic ring now, the pressure on his body increased and his body was close to collapsing, but he was not in a state of collapse.
This was what gave him the light to continue.
The magic ring was slowly beginning to form, Atlas had made it thin enough, and then he had concretised it by charging the entire layer of mana into it.
At that moment the magic ring began to emit a gas. Dark green and purple, it was enough to tell him that the element was poison.
Each time the magic rings gained a colour and indicated an element, Atlas noticed that the element became stronger.
This was what told him that he could now become good at poison as well.
He finished creating the magic ring and then opened his eyes, taking a deep breath and letting it out. He could feel the heaviness in his body, but it was not such a great feeling. It was in a way that could pass.
He breathed deeply and stood up, thinking that it was time to start his training.
After getting into a proper position, he began to continuously rotate the aura in his body to train his aura and create more of it.
He would continue to do this for a full week.
