Antihero In the Hero Academy: I Can Connect the Past Heroes-Chapter 90: Special Honours and Ambessor
Chapter 90: Special Honours and Ambessor
Atlas was busy looking at Thalia, the Elf Queen, as surprised as everyone else. He hadn’t expected to receive such an offer, he could have sworn that no one had ever encountered anything like this before. "Umm...thank you, your majesty?" Atlas managed to say, even though he hadn’t expected anything like this.
"So, tell me, what would you like to wish me? You have the honour of saving my daughter, and I will do whatever you want," Thalia said abruptly.
Atlas scratched his head, then replied, "Your Majesty, I did not save your daughter for a reward, I heard that you had summoned me to talk to me, that’s why I’m here, I don’t really need a reward."
When Thalia heard these words, she could hardly keep herself from laughing. She did not expect such words from the young man in front of her.
"There must be something you want, something you hope for, otherwise why would you save my daughter?" Thalia asked. River had told her mother what Atlas was like, but she wanted to hear it from his lips.
Atlas shook his head from side to side and then, as if he had an idea, he said, "You can make it free for me to enter the Elven capital, it is a beautiful place, the food is delicious, the culture is fun... If possible. But no, I saved her because she was hurt."
He could not understand the great impact these words had on everyone. If he had wanted to, Atlas could have wished to marry the princess, perhaps he could have asked for all the fruits of the world tree, or he could have asked for a weapon from the high elves, who forged weapons better than even the high dwarves.
Atlas wished only for free access to the capital.
Elf Queen Thalia couldn’t help but chuckle to herself.
"As you wish. Your wish is my command, young man," Thalia muttered.
With that, Thalia clapped her hands twice, then looked around at the nobles and said, "I think you are satisfied now. Lady Cordelia’s student, the man whom Lady Cassandra wants to marry, the first Duke of the Fourth Ducal House of the Epsilon Empire, and a young man with incredible potential. I call for a vote to grant him entry to the Elven Kingdom and many more, all in favour raise your hand."
With the words of Elf Queen Thalia, a silence fell in the throne hall. For a few seconds, no one raised their hands except the members of the royal family. However, one by one, the hands of the nobles began to rise.
After only two minutes, there was not a single noble in the hall whose hand had not been raised. It was as if the elven nobles were paying a debt to Atlas.
"My name is Thalia, the 3093rd High Elven Queen in the seven hundred thousand year history of the Elven Kingdom. Our people have suffered a great wound, especially at the hands of humans, this has always been the case, but today we will break it with the young man who stands before us in the centre of the throne hall of the High Elven Council."
Thalia was suddenly speaking. Atlas remembered exactly where he had heard those words, word for word, word for word, everything was exactly the same, Atlas’ eyes widened and his gaze locked on Thalia in a dazed stare.
"Kneel Atlas Shorekeeper, First Duke of the Fourth Ducal Family of the Epsilon Empire, today I present you with a title of honour in front of the entire High Elven Council. Not only did you save my daughter, but it was only through your threats to the nobility that my people were able to live more peacefully within the Epsilon Empire, just like the Vampire race."
The words changed slightly and Thalia added more.
"Starting today, each of the Shorekeepers will be declared honoured members of the Bijoux family, guardians of the World Tree. The Epsilon Empire will go from being neutral to being seen as friends for what they have done for our people. As Thalia Bijoux I’ll give my orders!"
As she uttered these words, Thalia rose from her throne and then slowly descended the stairs leading down from the throne, one by one, and stood in front of the kneeling Atlas, as was the elven custom.
Thalia calmly touched Atlas’s head and then said, "May our friendship endure. Rise, Atlas Shorekeeper, the Ambassador of Two Worlds."
When Thalia took a few steps back, Atlas stood up and looked at Thalia, still not over the shock of what had happened, and said, "Thank you, Your Majesty. I would be honoured to take on this task."
It was not at all what he thought he would see. Even in his previous life, he had never experienced anything like this. Although he had brought the entire elven kingdom back from extinction twice, he had only managed to get a personal permission.
Now, the elven kingdom of Bijoux, which had been notr for over a hundred thousand years, had declared its friendship to the Epsilon Empire.
On an expedition in which Atlas had mistakenly acted as ambassador.
This event would make a lot of noise in the world. Atlas was likely to be targeted not only by devil worshippers, but also by angel worshippers. As long as he stayed at the academy, there was no way there could be any trouble because almost every Sage visited the academy five or even six times a month.
On top of that, the whole academy had been cleansed. In this case, it would be possible to say that he was completely safe in the academy.
But that took Cordelia’s words to a much more important level. Suddenly, he had become an ambassador, and not only that, he had become a high ambassador, the connecting force between two mighty powers.
This was a far greater responsibility than he had ever imagined.
If he did not want to be ambushed and killed in the Kingdom of Akairon, he had to become even more powerful.
He didn’t even know if being a mage with five magic rings would be completely useless. It was a very, very stressful event, but also one that would enhance his reputation.
Now it was time to turn back, though young River seemed to have other ideas.
