Chapter 39: Chapter 35 Survivor Camp

"Hmph!" Qian Yu snorted coldly and immediately pulled out his pistol, aiming it at Lou Shasha’s head and said fiercely, "If we were anywhere else, I wouldn’t give a damn about your lives, but now we’re all stuck here, our lives are all in the same boat. If you attract trouble, I’ll be the first to take you and your brother down!"

At this moment, Lou Hua, who had been silent all this time, suddenly reached out and grabbed Qian Yu’s hand, and all of his men instantly raised their guns at Lou Hua. However, Lou Hua just slowly pulled down Qian Yu’s wrist, pinning the hand that was about to pull the trigger.

"Let go!" Qian Yu looked at him in fear and struggled to free his hand, but found that Lou Hua’s strength was surprisingly great.

"Sis!" Lou Shasha called out with a worried expression, as she and her brother obviously didn’t want to conflict with these people either.

Hearing his sister’s voice, Lou Hua then released Qian Yu’s hand and still looked at him with an indifferent gaze.

Qian Yu, gritting his teeth in frustration, shook his sore hand and his eyes swept coldly over the two siblings. He was about to explode in anger when he suddenly saw Lin Xian and KIKI in the car.

"Who are these two?" he asked.

"Just like us, unlucky bastards who stumbled in here by accident," said Lou Shasha.

Qian Yu frowned slightly, glanced over KIKI without much interest, snorted coldly, and turned to lead his people away.

"Eagle, keep a few more men on watch over those siblings."

On the way back, Qian Yu coldly gave the order.

"Boss, though Lou Hua is a superpower user, he’s not bulletproof. We can take him down anytime if you want," the scar-faced middle-aged man followed by Qian Yu’s side, said indifferently.

"No need." Qian Yu spoke in a dark tone, "If we’re preparing to break through, we could still use that guy."

Qian Yu wasn’t a fool; he knew the combat strength of a superpower user was not something ordinary people could match. Although he couldn’t turn Lou Hua to his side, now that they were trapped in the fog, he gladly wished for more useful superpower users to serve as cannon fodder so he might have a greater chance of survival.

The modified pickup truck slowly drove into the square and parked in a corner; many survivors from other teams cast strange glances. Most of the stares, besides being directed at the Lou siblings, were fixed on the two new faces, Lin Xian and KIKI.

Aside from Qian Yu’s Black Serpent Team and one vehicle belonging to the Lou siblings, there were also more than a dozen other Survivor Caravans trapped here.

Most of them were from the surrounding few cities and had fled eastward. Some groups had as many as twenty people, while the smaller ones only had a few. However, none were as fully armed as the Black Serpent Team; the majority only had a limited amount of firearms.

These teams were scattered in different areas of various sizes, with women and children generally staying inside the vehicles, surrounded by men on guard.

"Just two days ago, there were more people, but after everyone charged toward the city’s exit direction yesterday, dozens died, so we had no choice but to retreat back here,"

Lou Shasha jumped down from the vehicle, took out two cans and threw them to Lin Xian, then said to him, "You have superpowers, and so does my brother. If we work together, maybe we can try to break out..."

Hearing this, Lin Xian and KIKI’s gazes turned towards the man standing behind Lou Shasha, who was built like a tower. It went without saying, the physical differences between the siblings were... quite stark.

Lou Shasha was like a small deer, while her brother Lou Hua was as sturdy as a bear.

"It’s hard to say," Lin Xian seriously replied, "Like the spider we encountered today, it’s already difficult to deal with. If there are other monsters, I don’t think our chances of success are high."

Looking around the square, there were at least a couple hundred people. With the heavily armed Black Serpent Team plus the other caravans, there would be at least seventy to eighty firearms combined. If such firepower couldn’t break out and had already lost dozens of people, then trying to break through just by adding Lin Xian and KIKI seemed unreliable.

KIKI sat on the back of the truck, swinging her legs while looking at the thick fog in the sky, impatiently saying, "What the hell is up with this damn fog."

"Who knows, it hasn’t looked like it’s going to clear up for days," Lou Shasha said with a tone of despair.

"So what do we do now?"

Lou Shasha tilted her chin towards the center of the square, where Qian Yu was discussing something with a few team leaders.

"I guess we only have the option to charge. If we can’t get out before the poles night, there won’t be much of a chance for us to survive..."

Time gradually passed, and Lin Xian glanced at his watch; it was now 18:05, with only 40 minutes left until darkness.

But after thinking about it, their current situation seemed no different from what it would be after dark.

"Do those monsters attack actively after dark?" Lin Xian asked Lou Shasha this question.

"Yes," Lou Shasha nodded, "Loud noises will attract those Zombie Dogs, but we haven’t seen any of those bigger ones..."

Just then, the sound of several car engines roaring alongside gunshots came from afar, instantly shattering the peace of the survivor camp. Everyone stood up in unison, and the men were armed and ready for combat. freewebnøvel.coɱ

"What’s that noise?!"

"Over there!"

"Be careful"

"Is it another caravan?"

The crowd whispered amongst themselves, while Lin Xian and Lou Shasha were also on high alert: "Let’s go take a look!" Lou Shasha picked up the Grenade Gun and ran over, and her brother Lou Hua too grabbed a rifle from the driver’s cabin and slung it over his shoulder, following close behind.

Lin Xian and KIKI followed cautiously.

To the northwest direction on the street, thick fog churned, and the sounds of zombies howling and gunfire gradually drew closer. Dozens of people in the square took up arms and fanned out, some climbed onto vehicles, and others took shelter behind roadside flower beds.

Before long, several military jeeps ran over a few grotesque Monster Corpses, making their way out, with people on the vehicles constantly shooting at the Monster Corpses surging from the roadside and behind.

When Qian Yu up front saw the military jeeps, his eyes lit up. It didn’t matter who it was; the stronger their firepower, the more security for himself.

He immediately ordered, "Everyone, help out!"

Instantly, continuous gunfire echoed back and forth, as if a significant modern battle had commenced.

Under the massive covering fire, those military jeeps soon broke through the zombie tide and charged into the square.

As everyone pulled back to the defense line, more gunmen from the caravan began to resist the tide.

At this moment, several grayish-white Zombie Dogs controlled by black strange insects howled as they burst out of the zombie crowd, instantly pouncing and pinning down several unprepared people to the ground, opening their bloody jaws to begin tearing apart.

"Ah!!!"

Those unfortunate souls immediately let out a piercing scream.

"Hold the line, everyone!!" someone shouted!

At this time, the caravan’s defense line began to tighten step by step, with gunshots resounding, as several Zombie Dogs charged recklessly, even bearing bullets to rush into the crowd.

"Let’s kill these beasts first!" Lin Xian made a decisive decision, realizing they had to stand united with these survivors to survive.

Pfft pfft pfft!

Several Wind Guns fired, blowing the heads off of several zombies, and the brother-sister pair, Lou Shasha, also joined the fight.

Lou Hua didn’t take out the gun on his back but charged forward, broke off a metal guardrail post with one hand, and threw it with force. The metal pipe immediately made a piercing sound as it flew through the air and penetrated a white Zombie Dog, flinging the corpse over ten meters away!

"Wow, such strength!" KIKI exclaimed in amazement.

"He’s a Superpower User," Lin Xian said in a serious tone.

"What superpower? Super strength?"

At that moment, people from those military jeeps also got off and joined the resistance.

Lin Xian originally thought that those coming down from the jeeps would be from the military, but to his surprise, they were all civilians dressed differently. The leader was a balding middle-aged man in his forties; however, all the weapons they held were the standard Starfire 26 Full-Auto Tactical Rifles, clearly military gear.

"Kill those dogs first!"

Qian Yu, seeing his men falling one by one, roared furiously, with his gun continuously firing at the assaulting Zombie Dogs.

"I’ll help too!"

Seeing Zombie Dogs entering the crowd, KIKI gritted her teeth in fury, and suddenly, in full view of everyone, she grabbed a discarded city bus from the roadside out of thin air and swung her hand!

Boom!

Enormous strength immediately crushed and pulverized dozens of surging Monster Corpses and Zombie Dogs on the street, leaving behind a trail of mangled limbs and shattered flesh, terrifying onlookers!

This grand display suddenly drew countless astonished gazes towards her; no one expected that this new face was such a powerful Superpower User.

With this one move, she significantly reduced the pressure on those holding guns in defense, simultaneously boosting everyone’s confidence. The remaining armed personnel quickly reorganized the defense line.

After a volley of continuous gunfire, the once surging zombie tide gradually receded, and the streets started to quiet down.

This sudden big battle against the zombie tide resulted in Black Serpent Team losing three people, and over ten casualties in the entire survivor camp, filling the square with a gruesome atmosphere.

Catching their breath, Lou Shasha also gaped in amazement at her.

"Wow, you’re so amazing!"

Lou Hua stood behind Lou Shasha, also staring at the two with a look of awe.

Both Qian Yu from Black Serpent Team and Eagle looked at KIKI with complicated gazes, and the atmosphere became somewhat eerie.
