Assassin at Range: The Sniper's Lethal Power-Chapter 92 - : Really Looking Forward to It
Drake was waiting outside Tristan’s shop. Besides greeting him and catching up, he was mostly eager to hear Tristan’s thoughts on the Guild Token.
What could Tristan say, though?
He just stood there and watched.
For this Guild Token auction, he was planning to trick DarkSaber, but getting Drake to back out was clearly unrealistic. Plus, if Drake didn’t participate, DarkSaber would likely get suspicious. So, Tristan simply said, "I don’t really have any advice, but from what I’ve gathered, Guild Tokens are graded. The one ShieldBreaker has should be a Bronze Grade, meaning it can only create a guild with a cap of five hundred members."
!!!
Drake was stunned. This was huge news, and he had never heard it before.
Tristan wasn’t surprised.
Of course, ShieldBreaker wouldn’t share all the details of the Guild Token with outsiders.
Drake quickly came to his senses, rubbing his chin as he pondered.
If, as Blackshade had said, Guild Tokens were indeed graded and a Bronze Grade token could only create a guild with a cap of five hundred members, then his strategy would need to change.
His guild, IFA, was huge, with more than just five hundred members—there were likely over two thousand core members alone.
And that didn’t even include the countless peripheral members who just played a few games. The total number might be over ten thousand.
A Bronze Grade Guild would never be enough.
Drake spoke up, "If it’s only five hundred members, we wouldn’t even be able to fit all our core members, let alone the casual players."
Cleric Sophie thought for a moment and then offered her opinion, "That’s true, but the advantage of a guild is that you can organize parties. If we need to tackle high-level bosses, it’s far more efficient to work as a group. If we split into smaller teams, it might be difficult to lock down key DPS if other guilds are competing, and things could get messy."
Drake shared the same concern.
The Guild Token was definitely worth pursuing. Even if it only supported five hundred members, the advantages it offered during boss raids were undeniable. It was too valuable to ignore.
But whether it was worth several billion, that was another question.
Though he had plenty of money, he needed to spend it wisely.
Tristan added, "My opinion is this: we should try to win the Guild Token, but don’t get too carried away."
He casually showcased some Gold Grade equipment. "If we blow all our funds on this, we’ll miss out on these items."
Drake immediately remembered that Blackshade had mentioned he had some Gold Grade mage gear and a Gold Grade skill book. He had even been gathering more funds to buy those for Sophie, hoping to strengthen the team.
If all the money went into the Guild Token, they’d miss out on gear.
It would be better to split the funds—get some high-tier gear, and they’d be able to farm Guild Tokens in the future. After all, these weren’t one-of-a-kind items.
With that thought, Drake calmed down a lot. He nodded. "You’re right. We’ll go for the Guild Token, but if the price gets too high, we’ll back off."
Tristan nodded approvingly. A teachable person.
He sent Drake the attributes of the Dark Gold Grade Bone Crusher’s War Hammer.
"Holy sh*t!"
Drake jumped up, his eyes wide. Grabbing Tristan’s arm, he said urgently, "You have to save this weapon for me! I need it!"
Though Drake was a tanky heavy armor warrior, a weapon of this caliber was something every warrior would want.
Even if he didn’t use it himself, he could give it to a trusted officer. One of his vice guild masters was also a warrior with a hidden class. If they could equip this war hammer, their combat effectiveness would likely double, maybe even triple.
Tristan just smiled without saying anything.
His goal had already been achieved.
With so many appealing pieces of gear, Drake definitely wouldn’t get carried away bidding for the Guild Token now.
But he wouldn’t let DarkSaber snatch the first Guild Token so easily either.
The two guilds were long-time rivals, and the upcoming auction would surely be a fierce competition.
In the end, DarkSaber would likely win, but they’d soon regret spending everything they had just to acquire the Guild Token.
"Really looking forward to it," Tristan thought to himself.
After chatting for a bit more, Tristan and the others parted ways. Tristan was heading to find Horreo, and then he’d go to the city lord to claim his reward for slaying Bonecrusher.
Drake, on the other hand, was going offline to rest. He’d been at it for nearly twenty hours straight, and even with the game pod, he was starting to feel the fatigue.
Horreo looked as energetic as ever, showing no sign that Tristan had dragged him out of bed in the middle of the night.
"Warrior, you’re here."
Horreo’s address had changed again, clearly indicating that killing Bonecrusher had earned Tristan some additional favor in Horreo’s eyes.
Tristan politely replied, "Shall we head to the city lord to claim our reward?"
Horreo, ever straightforward, nodded. "I’ve already informed the city lord. We can head straight to his manor."
Tristan was excited.
Rewards directly from the city lord couldn’t possibly be bad, right?
At the very least, he expected some Gold Grade rewards, if not Dark Gold.
Horreo, eager to build more rapport with this "outsider," added another piece of information. "Because you also brought back intel on Dark Horizon, the city lord plans to take you into his treasure vault to choose a reward."

The city lord’s treasure vault!
Tristan’s eyes lit up.
Among the twelve main cities, Davi City was considered one of the wealthier ones, ranking third or fourth in terms of economic power.
The city lord, Karlke Langredi, controlled vast wealth. Even a small glimpse of it could give Tristan a significant boost.
With Horreo’s guidance, Tristan was soon in the city lord’s manor, meeting the lord himself.
At this time, the city lord hadn’t been replaced yet—Karlke Langredi, Edith’s biological father.
Karlke appeared to be in his forties, but his indulgent lifestyle had worn down his body and weakened his spirit. Even in luxurious clothing, his lethargic eyes betrayed his decay.
Tristan bowed. "Greetings, Lord Karlke."
Though the city lord had fallen into decadence, he was still the city lord, so he put on a facade of courtesy.
Karlke yawned and waved his hand. "No need for formalities. I heard from Horreo that you killed Bonecrusher?"
Horreo chimed in from the side. "Indeed, Lord Karlke. Here is Bonecrusher’s head. Please take a look."
He handed the head to the official, who placed it on a red cloth and presented it to Karlke.
Karlke sat up straighter, his face lighting up. "This is indeed Bonecrusher’s head! Warrior, you’ve done me a great service!"
In truth, whether or not it was actually Bonecrusher’s head, Karlke had no way of knowing.
But it didn’t matter. Even if this goblin head didn’t belong to Bonecrusher, it was undoubtedly a formidable creature of the same caliber.
With difficulty, Karlke stood up, supported by a servant. He breathed heavily, his chest rising and falling. After a few moments, he finally spoke in a hoarse voice, "To reward your contribution, I’ll allow you to choose a treasure from my vault."
