Beast World: A Fragile Beauty Blessed with Many Children-Chapter 345 - 344: She Knows Both of Them
Si Shuo took a nap, and by the time she woke up, the sun had already begun to set.
After eating two lamb buns, a bowl of rice porridge, and a peach, she activated her Invisibility and pulled Xiao Cheng to sit at the mouth of the cave, chatting with the females from the neighboring caves.
Xiao Sishuo Cheng smiled, sharing dried meat with them. "My Yin Jiang is so capable and a powerful fighter. Most importantly, he’s kind and has a strong sense of responsibility."
"Ever since we arrived at Eagle Cliff, he hasn’t rested for a moment, constantly hunting for me..."
As the saying goes, you can’t find fault with a gift horse. Munching on the savory dried meat, the females nodded in agreement. "Female Saint Si Shuo, you’re so lucky! Yin Jiang is the strongest of all the young males in our Eagle Clan. Everyone says he’ll be the next Fifteenth level Warrior... The Beast God must watch over him, to let him endure so much suffering and still grant him a new lease on life..."
"The Beast God must have known about his contributions to our Eagle Clan and couldn’t bear to call him away. My family only has enough food for a little over four months. I was so worried. Now that it’s getting cold, the wild rabbits and field mice are all burrowed away and hardly come out. My Beast Husband can fly all day and barely catch anything. I had no idea how we would survive the last month or so. But now things are looking up. With Yin Jiang leading the group, they’re sure to take down a few herds of sheep and cattle..."
"That’s right! Before Yin Jiang was taken, he often led the others to hunt herds of sheep and cattle. He’s so selfless and dedicated to the clan, yet he almost didn’t come back. I cried more than a few times when I heard about his terrible ordeal..."
When it came to Yin Jiang, everyone had nothing but praise. They lamented all he had been through but were overjoyed at his return, making for a topic of conversation that could go on forever.
Xiao Sishuo Cheng sighed along with them and leaned in to whisper to the female beside him, as if they were sworn sisters. "My heart aches for my Yin Jiang. That’s why I asked him to bring me here, to see the place he grew up, before the snow starts."
"If Yin Jiang’s Father were still alive, we might have settled down here. I’ve heard Yin Jiang is just like his Father—capable, kind, and responsible. It’s no wonder he was once the Young Master of the clan..."
"From what I’ve seen, his cousins certainly lack his drive..."
And wasn’t that the truth! When Yin Jiang was abducted, it was as if everyone had lost their backbone. The once-united Eagle Clan was now a mess of scattered sand, with no one willing to yield to another.
These ambiguous, barbed words were like seeds planted in people’s minds, sure to take root and sprout in just a few days.
Xiao Cheng lowered his eyes, smiling faintly. ’Anyone can hide a needle in cotton.’
Si Shuo found it amusing to hear him chatting so enthusiastically with the females, with no communication barriers whatsoever. ’But now that Xiao Cheng has taken my form,’ Si Shuo thought, ’the figure he’s given ’me’ is just ridiculously good!’
Sitting side by side, they had very different horizontal altitudes. She compared them back and forth several times before she couldn’t resist reaching out for a poke. It was soft and springy—an addictively good feeling.
When she suddenly grabbed him, a shiver went down Xiao Cheng’s spine. He quickly caught the mischievous female’s hand, terrified he’d get so flustered his tail would pop out.
’If the other guys back home found out how interested she was in his female form, he’d probably be beaten black and blue for a month straight!’
As evening fell, the hunting males flew back. Their high, piercing cries echoed through the cliffs long before they came into view, and the beastmen of the clan grew excited.
"Yin Jiang’s group must have had a huge haul! We won’t have to worry about our winter stores anymore..."
"This is wonderful! I was worried my cubs wouldn’t make it. As long as their fathers can bring back a few sheep, the little ones will all survive..."
The males who had remained behind in the clan flew out to greet them.
And sure enough, Yin Jiang returned a short while later at the head of the party. He carried three Curled Horned Sheep on his back and clutched a half-grown calf in his talons.
The other males had also brought back one or two—some even three or four—prey of their own.
That night, they celebrated lavishly, gathering around a bonfire to feast on meat while singing and dancing.
The two words on everyone’s lips were "Yin Jiang." Even the cubs just learning to babble could call his name.
In just one day, Yin Jiang seemed to have returned to his old self, the way he was before he left the clan—full of life, deeply respected, and possessing a charisma that inspired confidence despite his youth.
All the other beastmen became his backdrop. It was as if the year or two he had been away had never happened, as if it were all just a nightmare. Now that he had awakened, his innate brilliance shone as brightly as ever.
The Clan Leader, the supposed number one warrior of the grasslands—he outshone them all!
Watching Yin Jiang laugh with such unrestrained joy, Si Shuo’s heart filled with happiness. ’This is how her Hunting Falcon was always meant to be.’
’Perhaps in a couple of years, once they’ve spread schools, printing technology, papermaking, agriculture, and culinary arts, the civilization of the Beast World Continent will take a great leap forward.’
’By then, the Beast Husbands’ Levels would have risen, the cubs would be older, and the whole family could travel and see the world instead of being trapped in a single city.’
The night grew deep. After the cubs were sound asleep, Xu Chi sidled up to Si Shuo and whispered, "A Shuo, you slept a lot today. How about we go for a walk?"
It was a rare invitation from her Horned Deer Beast Husband, so Si Shuo naturally smiled and agreed.
Xu Chi carefully bundled her up, then held her tight as he flew out of the cave. "A Shuo, I found a really special place today when I was trailing Zhu Bang."
"There’s a Plum Blossom Forest there, right up against the cliff face. The flowers are a fiery red, so striking. You’ll definitely love it!"
Si Shuo smiled, pressing her lips together. ’A plum blossom spirit and a deer spirit,’ she thought. ’What a perfect match.’
The biting wind carried the elegant fragrance of the plum blossoms. Though the scent was subtle, it felt rich and enveloping.
Xu Chi found a plum tree in full, glorious bloom and set Si Shuo down beneath it. He was just about to kick the trunk to shower the little female in a rain of petals when his expression suddenly changed. He grabbed Si Shuo and pressed them both silently against the cliff face, still as a gecko.
Si Shuo nestled quietly in his arms, peering out with curiosity.
The night was clear enough to just make out a tall, brawny male striding toward them, eagerly holding and kissing a female. He came to a stop right beside where Si Shuo and Xu Chi were hidden.
The ground here was covered in dry twigs and broken branches. Even with his powerful Invisibility and Hidden Breath abilities, Xu Chi couldn’t possibly leave from such a close range without making a sound, not without the cover of a Protective Shield.
All he could do was cover the little female’s ears and avert his own gaze, trying to think of other things to distract himself.
Xu Chi and Si Shuo were hidden beside a plum tree with a thorny bush in front of them, so at least they didn’t have to worry about getting caught in the crossfire of the fierce battle.
But they were only separated by a single tree, a mere three feet away. The thumping of war drums, the whimpering of a flute, and the roars of a Wild Beast were carried clearly to their ears by the fierce winds raging through the ravine...
Si Shuo’s eyes flew wide. ’I know both of them! It’s Zhu Bang and Yun Mei! How in the world did those two get together?’
After about a Beast Hour in the cold wind, Yun Mei finally pushed Zhu Bang away, refusing another round. She pouted coquettishly, "No more, Brother Bang. I only snuck out because Wei Cang is leading a patrol. He’ll be back soon..."
