Maddy pulled in air once more, her body that had just deflated swelling up again.

The Dire Drake was sent reeling again, blasted backward before it could even recover from the first impact. It let out a guttural, earth shaking snarl. It was furious—a mere worm had dared to spit air at it, and worse, that air had actually moved its massive bulk.

The creature’s throat began to pulse, a terrifying glow of molten lava rising from its chest.

"Eh? I-it can breathe fire?"

Maddy’s voice wavered as the heat began to shimmer in the air.

The world turned white as torrent of molten, white hot fire erupted from the Dire Drakes mouth a roar of pure thermal destruction that didn’t just burn—it vaporized the very moisture in the air.

"NOPE! NOT TODAY!"

She dove, her beige body blurring as she used Rapid Burrowing to vanish into the floor just a millisecond before the fire swept over her position. Underground, the heat was still agonizing, the soil above her turning into glass.

"Oh, that was really an advanced fire element!"

Using Terrain Control, she liquefied the earth ahead, swimming through the stone like a shark. She also used it to make her Pitfall skill much easier.

"Oh yeah, now I don’t have to eat dirt to make a pitfall. I can just control the terrain! Very, very convenient trait—thanks, Tremor Toad!"

Maddy then shifted the earth to create a massive hole.

"PITFALL!"

The pitfall swallowed the massive reptile, and Maddy surfaced directly beneath the Drake’s rear left leg, jaws unhinging for a huge bite. Activating her Unhinged Jaw.

"I’ll bite your thick legs! Burrow Bite!"

But the Alpha was king for a reason. Just as Maddy thought she’d sink her teeth into the meaty leg, she was met with its sharp claw. It slammed its massive, glowing appendage into the ground right where she was emerging. The claws scraped the earth, igniting it. 𝘧𝘳𝘦ℯ𝓌𝘦𝒷𝘯𝑜𝑣𝘦𝓁.𝒸𝘰𝓂

"GAAAAH!"

Maddy screamed as she was blasted backward, her beige skin scorched black. The physical impact felt like being hit by a falling building, and the fire licked at her silk-wrapped steaks.

But as the Drake lunged to crush her, her Static Discharge flared, sending the massive reptile into numb, tingling shock. The Alpha bucked violently, its muscles seizing.

She was furious, as the wrapped meat is now smoking as it got fired from the attack.

"GRRR! Enough with this meat from your little lizards... I’m going to make my eldest’s first meal truly legendary. I’ll turn it into super premium rank—using your own MEAT!"

Maddy unwrapped the lizard meat and shoved it straight into her mouth.
