Chapter 60: Put Those Six Arms To Work.

The tension drained from Sephiran’s small shoulders, replaced by relief and admiration.

"Haha, thank you, Mother! Sorry I wasn’t brave enough to face a... a transparent monster like that."

Maddy stopped, her hand resting gently on his head. Her expression turned soft and serious.

"Don’t apologize for that, Sweetie. You wouldn’t be truly alive if you weren’t afraid of something. Even the strongest beings in this world have their weaknesses, you know. Courage isn’t having no fear—it’s what you do when you are afraid."

Sephiran’s smile widened, and he threw his small arms around her in a tight hug. Maddy hugged him back gently, her voice warm.

"You know what? You don’t actually have to guard the entrance anymore," she said. "In this area, only worms live—and they can dig through any floor of our home if they want."

Sephiran scratched the back of his head, hesitating, and Maddy continued, her tone playful but thoughtful.

"And if you want, I could create a wall at the entrance to block it completely, only opening it when we go outside. Or maybe I could make the entire floor as hard as diamond so no worm can sprout. What do you think?"

Sephiran’s eyes widened in awe—but a shadow of concern crossed his face.

"It... it would look amazing, but... I—I still want to have a role in our home. Remember when we first started here? I spent seven days protecting you from those worms while you slept... That’s all I could do. And now... seeing brother Arach, so strong, and you too, Mother... it feels like you don’t even need me. I—"

Tears spilled down his cheeks, reddening his whole face.

"Only guarding the entrance of our home... that’s all I can do..."

Maddy gently wiped the tears from Sephiran’s cheeks, her voice soft but firm.

"Oh, my baby boy... guarding our entrance and keeping those worms at bay isn’t the only thing that defines your worth."

She paused, letting her words sink in, then continued with a gentle smile.

"You’re only seven years old, yet you protected me from those worms for seven whole days without letting a single one touch me. You never gave up, even when you didn’t know when I would wake. That takes a brave heart, Sephiran."

She lifted his chin, her eyes warm.

"To me and to your brother just having you here, with that cheeky, fearless personality of yours, is everything we need. Always remember this: even if you’re not guarding the entrance, even if there’s no threat at all, you still have a role, right here, inside our hearts. That role is to be yourself, to grow, and to be alive."

Sephiran blinked a few times, his small chest rising and falling as he tried to absorb her words. A shy, hesitant smile spread across his face, and his wide eyes glistened with unshed tears.

"So... even if I’m not the strongest... even if I don’t fight like Arach... I’m still important?"

Maddy nodded, squeezing his tiny hand.

"Yes, sweetie. You’re important just by being you."

Relief washed over him, and a genuine, bright grin finally broke through.

"I... I’ll keep giving my all! Not just whack a worms on our floor, but in everything I do! I’ll make you proud, Mother!"

He hugged her tightly, and the weight of fear and doubt seemed to melt from his small shoulders. A thought flickered through Maddy’s mind as she whispered to herself,

"This boy... he’s growing really fast. He’s so mature... seeing Arach’s strength must have been crushing for him. He carried that burden, thinking he was keeping me safe, yet Arach’s power overshadowed him. And still... he doesn’t yet realize his own potential. In just weeks... he’ll surpass him."

Maddy secretly appraised Sephiran.

[Magic: 779,000 | Might: 789,300]

She couldn’t help but notice—his stats were rising steadily, growing stronger with each passing day.

After a while, Maddy released Sephiran from the hug, her heart feeling lighter. She turned toward the steaming hot spring where Arach stood, his massive frame radiating heat.

"Hey, Arach. Can you do a favor for me?"

Arach didn’t even dry himself. He stepped out, his secondary pupils fixed on her with absolute devotion.

"Yes. I will do it now, Mother."

Maddy chuckled, scratching her cheek.

"I haven’t even told you what it is yet! Anyway, look at this place. It’s still just a mud-caked cave. I want you to use your Mineral and Worm traits to make another room for us. Expand our home, smash, burrow, dive, whatever you need to do to create just one extra room."

Arach nodded without even questioning, his four massive arms digging into the soil with a quiet determination.

"Understood. I shall begin immediately."

And he dive towards the wall and start to swum like a professinal swimer. Maddy blinked, one hand on her hip, the other tapping her chin.

"Well... I guess I didn’t expect him to actually swim through the walls like a mineral-powered torpedo.

Sephiran’s eyes went wide, jaw practically hitting the floor.

"Mother... he’s actually... diving into the dirt? Like a worm? That’s... that’s insane!"

Maddy watched, awe swelling in her chest.

"What a perfect eldest son... in just one order, he moves. Not like the kids distracted by trivial things... though there’s no phones here, so they can’t ignore me anyway."

Seeing her first son at work, so reliable and precise, she couldn’t afford to stay idle.

"Yeah, put those six arms to work! Now for me..."

She moved toward the back of the cave, where the Chief Ogre had previously smashed open three rooms with her fatty worm body but one of them was already transformed into the hot spring area.

"My turn."

Using Absolute Light Manipulation, she solidified golden beams of light to act as structural supports. Then, activating Rapid Burrowing and Earth Mobility, she effortlessly expanded the gaps into smooth, spacious rooms. She used her own Mineral traits to match Arach’s work, but added her touch. At the original bedroom, she refined the space into her new master suite. She wove Silk Production with Photosynthetic Regeneration, creating a massive, sprawling bed that felt like a cloud but pulsed with a faint, healing mana.

"There... A home fit for a family."
