[BL] Mr. Romano Contracted Husband-Chapter 111: Come To Visit
One morning, Arcane and Julian left Stamford’s residence to go somewhere. He asked Jane to look after Stefano and Sofia while they were gone.
"We’ll be back this afternoon. Please look after them until we return," said Arcane, and then they left the house in their car.
The car drove quite fast to a place that turned out to be quite far from the city.
And their destination turned out to be a prison.
Upon entering the prison grounds, they requested to meet with one of the inmates who had been recently admitted a few days prior. The prison guard permitted it after verifying their identities and confirming who they wished to meet.
They entered the meeting room, which had glass walls separating them from the prisoner they wanted to see.
"Are you sure it’s okay to meet her?" asked Julian.
"It’s okay, because I’m sure there are some things I need to tell her." Arcane nodded, saying that he wanted to speak directly with Alina.
The woman who had committed crimes and was eventually imprisoned on charges of kidnapping, attempted murder, and assault resulting in one victim, Donald. She was imprisoned temporarily before her trial began.
Alina finally entered the room after one of the prison guards pushed her. The blonde-haired woman walked into the room, then looked at Arcane and Julian. Her blank stare turned into a look of hatred that immediately ran towards them.
Luckily, the glass wall between them was thick enough to prevent the woman from attacking them immediately.
"What do you want with me?! Are you here to mock me because I ended up in prison?! You’re happy, aren’t you? Because of you, I ended up in a prison like this!" she yelled at them both.
However, the two men did not seem afraid of her shouting. Instead, they became more and more annoyed every time they heard her. Especially Julian, who still wanted to destroy her face right then and there.
"Don’t talk nonsense. You’re lucky that there are still people who want to visit you," Julian said to him.
However, Alina laughed at this, thinking it was a very funny joke. She didn’t need visits from them because she didn’t want to see them again.
"The feeling is mutual. We don’t want to see you either! Unless we have to."
He folded his arms across his chest in frustration, while Arcane tried to calm him down. He then turned to Alina, his father’s wife, who had caused his father to be in the hospital and still unconscious.
"We came here just to tell you about my father’s condition. Because of you, he is still in the hospital and has not yet regained consciousness from his coma. Even though more than a week has passed, his condition remains the same," he said firmly, his eyes narrowing.
Alina reacted in the opposite way, her sharp gaze turning into wide eyed shock upon hearing about her husband’s condition. She never expected Donald to be in such a state because of her.
A sense of regret arose within the middle aged woman over what had happened. However, that guilt quickly faded and was replaced by hatred and anger towards Arcane.
Blaming what had happened to her, because Donald wouldn’t have ended up like this if Arcane had never entered their lives.
"It’s all your fault! If only you had never come into our lives, none of this would have happened!"
"You’re trying to blame Arcane? This is all your fault! None of this would have happened if you hadn’t tried to kidnap me just to lure him out. You tried to kill Arcane, and Mr. Stamford came to his rescue!" Julian snapped back, unable to accept Arcane being blamed like that.
Even without being blamed, Arcane continued to blame himself for what had happened. And now Alina was only making the situation worse.
However, Arcane immediately grabbed Julian’s shoulder to stop him from saying anything else. It was as if he was trying to say that he was fine, that there was no need to be so angry.
"I’m just trying to remind you. You’ll end up in prison for a very long time. You have to pay for all your mistakes," he said.
He paused for a moment, giving his sentence a break before finally continuing.
"For now, Stefano and Sofia are under my protection. They never even thought to ask where you were or even care at all. Your jealousy has torn your own family apart, even your children don’t care where you are now," he said.
What Arcane said was true, though he had lied a bit just to make Alina feel like she was wrong about everything.
Stefano and Sofia did ask about Alina’s whereabouts, but only to find out whether their mother knew about Donald’s situation or not. After that, they never asked about Alina again because she was so often absent from her own family.
They considered the woman’s departure to be normal, and whether she returned or not did not really matter to them.
Hearing this, Alina fell to the floor, holding her head. Tears flowed freely from her eyes as she faced this reality.
She had almost killed her own husband out of jealousy. Her children didn’t even care about her because she was often away and neglected her own family.
Now she had to be imprisoned for a very long time, losing everything she had, including her family.
"Why did everything turn out like this? I never expected a life like this. I just wanted to live and be loved by the man I loved. But my anger and hatred towards that woman had put me in this situation!"
She cried hysterically, bending over until she touched the floor. She regretted everything she had done, because this incident didn’t happen when she tried to kill Arcane alone, but the mistakes she had made even before Arcane came into their lives.
At that moment, Julian and Arcane just stood there staring at her as she cried.
The visit was over, and the two men left the room while Alina, still crying hysterically, was dragged away by the prison guards.
"Blaming others for what you’ve done is one of the worst forms of escapism I know."
