Blood Nemesis-Chapter 171: Disciple
Chapter 171: Disciple
Park Sanghyun was determined to make it an issue. He didn’t back down an inch.
"Hah! Are you mad? Do you even realise what you are saying? If owning shares of a company is illegal, every one of you," Oliver wanted to curse, but he changed his word mid-sentence, sensing that the Thunder Emperor didn’t want to escalate the situation. "...in the Centre are criminals. Who among you doesn’t own shares of companies?"
Oliver couldn’t believe what kind of reasoning Park Sanghyun was making.
"Should we look into your stock portfolio and illegal activities?" He inquired while tapping the table.
He was almost sure that he would find a lot of things.
His head turned slightly to the side, glancing over to the side where Root was sitting.
As if information were telepathically given, Root slid his phone towards Oliver.
With the help of Achara, Oliver took the phone and read the content.
It contained all the public information available on Park Sanghyun.
While they were talking, Root seemed to have dug up everything on him.
’He must have used the phone as a gateway to connect to the internet. What an OP ability. Fortunately, he didn’t hack into anything yet.’ Oliver thought and read the information.
As he was looking through the document Root gave, more data was being updated live before his eyes, showing information about the known assets of Park Sanghyun.
Immediately, his eyes moved towards the large sequence of numbers and text accompanying it.
’Trinity Tech - 9,342,561 shares, approximately 1 billion creds in value.’
’Fuck, this loser has that much money?’
The document he read contained a long list of numbers. Trinity Tech was just one of the most prominent among them.
’When you add up the rest, it’s about 2 billion creds in value.’
Oliver was shocked.
A couple of hundred million creds of net worth for a general in the military was the usual. After all, to be a general, you usually have to be an A-rank or higher.
An A-ranker was more than capable of earning hundreds of millions of creds.
But to have almost 2 billion in just his stock portfolio, that’s a lot.
’How much is he worth if we include the real estate and other assets?’
Oliver didn’t know how to respond.
Here he was, being happy about getting a few hundred million creds by providing genuine service through his business, while the general made hundreds of millions through unprovable means.
Oliver rolled his eyes.
’Truly, a pot calling the kettle black.’
He saw the smug look on Park Sanghyun’s face and felt an itch to slap.
’Accusing others of gaining wealth illegally while he himself was sitting on a mountain of black money.’
*Sigh!*
Oliver swiped up on the phone.
He wanted to know how Park Sanghyun became that wealthy. But this was not the time to do a depth investigation. The only important information was...
’It’s Trinity Tech stock.’
’Most sane people would buy Trinity Tech shares because it is one of the most valued companies right now.’
’But that doesn’t mean Park Sanghyun bought it all on his own. Did the demons throw him a bone?’ Oliver’s suspicion was aroused.
Trinity Tech was currently one of the tech giants with the highest market cap. In the future, they would grow exponentially and become a monstrous company with a market cap of 50 trillion creds, solidifying their position as the number one.
Which also means the money Park Sanghyun had invested would almost triple.
One billion would become almost three billion.
In a way, his wealth is linked to the development of Trinity Tech.
So, it’s safe to assume that he will think twice before doing anything that can affect the share value. Therefore, we can say their chances of collusion were also high.
*Scoff*
’Trinity Tech is a problematic company. They are divided into three main branches.
The Trinity Heavy Machinery deals with anything related to manufacturing electronics and machines. They are also the producers of Mechs and military equipment.
Trinity Biotech deals with pharmaceutical products. They bought Instaheal recently and stepped into the domain of manufacturing mana-dense healing accelerants.
The third and most important wing of Trinity Tech is Trinity Energy. They are in the business of manufacturing and selling fuel rods. This division has an ambition of exploring and acquiring all natural resources from Second Earth.
So, Trinity Tech is three super companies masquerading as one. It’s a mega corporation with no limits.’
’However, there is an itty bitty problem. Demons are trying to find their way to the upper echelon of this company.’
’Trying might be an understatement. They are already halfway up, taking over many important parts of Trinity Tech.’
’So, did they pay this damned fatty to mess up my business?’
Oliver had a reason to doubt it.
After all, he eliminated one of the demons that tried to take over Sathyamoorthi’s business. And the Demon was a high-ranking Trinity Tech employee.
’Demons know the value of the technology we have at hand. They wanted to acquire it and failed. So, they could have used this method.’
’Thunder Emperor supposedly ruffled some feathers in The Centre. That might have allowed them to use a secondary method of acquiring us...’
Oliver was used to exploring all scenarios in his mind.
While it might not be a reality, he knew he had to be on guard.
After all, you would never know how the demons will attack him. So, being prepared was the only option.
His overthinking ended as he glanced through the document.
"Your networth is said to be around six billion creds. That’s a lot for a government employee." Oliver looked at Park Sanghyun. "Did they increase the salary?" He asked.
"Hrmph! Did you do an internet search on me?" Park Sanghyun gave a displeased look. fгee𝑤ebɳoveɭ.cøm
"What if I did?"
"Did any one of the articles say I illegally acquired it?"
"No." Oliver shook his head.
"So, what’s your problem?" Park Sanghyun raised his nose.
"I have none. But I would like to ask you the same question. What is your problem with the Thunder Emperor owning part of our company?"
Park Sanghyun smiled. Oliver sensed a tint of malicious intent laced in it.
"Because he is under investigation." His smile widened. "I am investigating his misuse of government funds and embezzlement. So, it is within my right to stop him. You can do nothing about it, ugly brat."
Just because the Thunder Emperor asked him to be civil, Oliver patiently heard his nonsense.
And yet, the man on the other side was provoking him.
He couldn’t let that be.
"Hey, Mr Potbelly, you shouldn’t go around calling others names."
Park Sanghyun was a duplicitous bastard. Oliver was even worse. It was a mistake to annoy him.
"With the mug of yours that can scare a whore into nunship, you dare to call me ugly." Oliver stood up, pointing his finger at the bald, shiny head of Park Sanghyun.
He didn’t give an ounce of respect.
"If you don’t want to lose the remaining strands of hair, shut up and go back, you senile old fool." He added.
His words made those around display a plethora of expressions. Even the Thunder Emperor, who was maintaining a firm expression, cracked and almost laughed.
Root covered his mouth.
Achara turned slightly to the side, hiding her expression.
The rest did something similar.
Only Sathyamoorthi was nervously tapping his thighs, fearing everything would fall apart.
Oliver was part-owner of WorldNet. He feared his action would cause irreparable damage to their relationship with the military.
As far as he knew, Park Sanghyun was an important person who could destroy his company. He didn’t dare to show discontent.
"Thunder Emperor, isn’t this vulgar brat your business partner? You should control him."
Turning away with a frown, he complained.
From the brief exchange, Park Sanghyun knew he couldn’t defeat Oliver in a verbal battle, so he decided on another approach to hide his embarrassment.
Despite looking calm, he was seething inside. Wishing to skin Oliver from head to toe many times over.
Unfortunately, Oliver, the young man, seemed to be connected to WorkNet and Thunder Emperor, further complicating things.
"Oliver, sit down for now." The Thunder Emperor hid his smile and asked.
"Let’s move on to the real issue instead of quibbling over insignificant things."
"Are you willing to hear my side, Park Sanghyun?" He asked.
"Of course, I want to know why you brought these kids over here."
Park Sanghyun eyes the dozen or so military officers standing to the side of the conference room.
"Yes, let’s do it. First and foremost, I have to correct you and say that I don’t own shares of WorldNet."
"What?" Park Sanghyun frowned.
"Yes, I don’t own any. I returned everything to my disciple."
"Disciple! What? Who?"
The same question rang inside the mind of everyone nearby.
’Thunder Emperor had a disciple! Why didn’t I know about that? Is it Achara?’ Oliver’s eyes lingered over Achara’s body.
Achara avoided him.
’Ah! Who cares? 90 per cent of the company is controlled by me and Sathyamoorthi, the rest doesn’t matter. And if the Thunder Emperor transferred the share to someone else, they might be someone within his control. I don’t have to worry about that.’ Oliver thought.
But suddenly, he paused.
’Did he say, returned?’ An ominous feeling washed over him.
Immediately, he noticed everyone in the conference room looked at him.
*Gulp*
’I’ll be damned.’
"Yes, as you all thought, that young man." The Thunder Emperor pointed at Oliver. "Is my one and only disciple and next to inherit everything I have."
"Ah!"
Oliver sat there, frozen. The revelation was too shocking.
When didn’t he become a disciple?
He didn’t know.
