Blood Nemesis-Chapter 178: Idiots 2
Chapter 178: Idiots 2
However, before he could ask.
Stephen turned to Oliver, teary-eyed, "Boss." He called out, his voice stifling into nothingness.
Victor, on the other hand, took a step back in fear.
After being thrown down the building, he was scared of Oliver.
"Yeah, it’s me."
Oliver ignored both of them and strolled towards the campfire.
He casually picked up a grilled chicken and took a bite.
As the shadows of his followers appeared over the building, Oliver bit and ripped apart the chicken leg, chewing hot meat covered in fat and sauce.
"Tastes good. 8 out of 10. Do you want to start a grilled chicken business?" Oliver asked, amused.
He never expected the chicken to taste that good.
His words made the duo gloomy. They looked down at the ground simultaneously, hiding their sadness.
"Hm?" Oliver sensed the change in their expression. "What happened while I was away?" He was about to inquire, but sensed the air behind had changed.
Neither Stephen nor Victor seemed to have sensed it.
They lifted their head and were about to reply. But Oliver waved his hand and stopped.
"Don’t...We have guests." He said and turned around, peering back into the darkness near the stairwell from which he came.
Suddenly, the darkness twisted and turned, revealing two figures clothed in black.
Victor and Stephen stepped back, sensing danger.
Just the aura from the individual who appeared was suffocating.
’A-rankers.’ They thought simultaneously.
They were not trying to hide their presence at all.
With just Oliver and two youngsters present, they didn’t really have to.
They had complete confidence in defeating all of them.
"How did you sense us?"
One of the black clothed men asked.
Oliver smiled and replied nonchalantly, "I have an idiot detector with me."
His lips curled up into a mocking grin.
"It detected you the moment you came near me. FYI, it even shows you are the two idiots that came with Park the baldy. There is no point in covering your face."
The duo’s face sank under the mask.
They ripped away the mask, revealing their real face.
As Root said, they were a duo that came with Park Sanghyun.
"Did your boss ask you to threaten me? He has guts. To threaten someone who has the full support of Thunder Emperor."
They ignored Oliver.
"Hey, dumbassess, can’t you hear me?"
They came closer.
Now, only a few meters separated them.
Oliver motioned with his hand, asking Stephen and Victor to stand back.
Then he continued to speak,
"I can’t fathom your stupidity. You should know that I already sent messages to Thunder Emperor, right? Injuring or threatening me wouldn’t end well."
Oliver didn’t want to fight.
But the duo didn’t seem to care about any of that. They walked closer.
"As long as there is no proof, even Thunder Emperor can’t do anything to us." They smirked and said.
The face of the duo twisted into a scowl as they dashed forward, trying to capture Oliver.
’God, why do you do this to me?’
’There is always someone stupider.’
He thought and converted blood to mana.
His body ignited in golden splendour, taking the duo by surprise.
Before they knew it, Oliver slammed a half-bitten chicken leg on one of their face with the golden tentacle. The other felt something grab his ankle. At the same time, the remaining tentacles grabbed Stephen and Victor, throwing them off the building.
"See...it will not be that easy."
Oliver said after blocking their initial advances.
The duo shrugged their shoulder.
They were surprised by the strength Oliver showed, but didn’t retreat.
Instead, with imbuing more mana into their body, they pushed away the golden tentacle and advanced.
The A-rankers with mana enhancement were physically strong. Oliver didn’t try to compete with them in mana control or quantity. He then came towards him.
"In a minute, someone will come here to pick me up. Do you think you can defeat me within that time?"
Oliver asked.
They grinned.
Abruptly, one of them threw their weapon at the campfire and destroyed the light.
Instantly, the building’s roof was thrust into darkness.
The duo he was closely watching melded into darkness again.
"Stealth ability?"
Oliver looked around. But the dim moonlight was not enough to see them.
"That’s pretty cool." He commented.
If he could use blood, he would have found them instantly by spraying mana-filled blood fog at them.
Unfortunately, Thunder Emperor was called for assistance. He couldn’t show that ability in front of him.
’Hah...I made more trouble for myself by trying to avoid trouble. Who would have thought these idiots would attack me even after revealing my backing?’
’Fuck.’
He cursed under his breath and spat out some blood.
The golden mana tentacle he was using was a rudimentary one. Without the armour, he didn’t have the control to maintain them.
In the brief moment he used, it tore through his body, injuring him.
Oliver spat out the blood to clear the congestion in his chest.
And pulled back the tentacle.
This time, he thinly distributed the golden mana over his body to form an armour.
It was not as strong or as durable as the real one. But it was better than nothing.
Then he saturated his muscles with mana to strengthen them.
"Come at me, lackeys of the bald fatty." He taunted.
Suddenly, the shadow behind him twisted into a solid state, thrusting its hand towards Oliver’s back.
The slightest variation in air pressure, as the shadow transitioned from incorporeal to corporeal, alerted Oliver.
He immediately ducked, sensing danger.
The shadow’s hand missed his neck.
Oliver pushed mana into his leg and immediately leapt away.
"Hoh! That was close."
However, he didn’t get a breathing room.
Another fist enlarged before him as he tried to stabilise his footing.
Oliver had to use both his arms to block it.
"TUN!"
With the sound of two metals slamming against each other, they collided.
Oliver felt the mana in his arms break under the pressure.
Like a shattered glass, it finally broke, and the force threw him away.
Oliver flew away like a rag doll, his forearms snapping in two.
The flying body slammed against a wall and plummeted to the ground.
"Ouch! That hurts." Oliver muttered, his legs struggling to keep him standing.
