Campus Ace Girl-Chapter 676 - 277: Boom! The Dark Hometown Exploded
Gu Anxi tilted her head slightly and smiled faintly. "Mr. Bo Qing, you seem to have forgotten tonight’s main event. Why do you keep focusing on me? The Second Mistress won’t be pleased."
Bo Qing didn’t even glance at Song Jia. Song Jia’s expression was grim, but she still checked the time and then whispered in Bo Qing’s ear, "Everything is ready in South Africa."
Bo Qing picked up a small glass of wine and raised it. "Ladies and gentlemen, in a moment, you will witness the gift I have prepared for my beloved disciple."
Gu Anxi also took a glass of wine and sipped it delicately. "Well, thank you, Master."
Someone in the crowd remarked, "In two minutes, something will happen over in South Africa."
He then turned to Bo Qing. "If this experiment succeeds, Mr. Bo, you’ll control that entire region of South Africa, and perhaps even..."
Bo Qing offered a faint smile and walked out into the courtyard.
The night sky was adorned with sparse stars, the moon hanging high.
The dignitaries from inside followed him out, crowding the courtyard. The atmosphere was lively, as if Bo Jingshen’s death had never occurred.
Everyone was discussing how this missile launch would shock the world and alter the landscape of Beicheng.
Gu Anxi also stood quietly on the lawn, awaiting that moment. For her, that direction held not just the missile, but also her younger uncle.
Bo Qing raised his hand, checking the time.
"Ten, nine, eight..."
Soon, they would witness that brilliant spectacle.
He turned to look at Gu Anxi.
Unfortunately, Gu Anxi wasn’t looking at him; she was gazing quietly at the night sky.
Just as everyone was looking northward, a burst of fire erupted in the east. It resembled a cloud surging through the darkness, or perhaps more like a thunderbolt, startling everyone.
Wasn’t it supposed to hit Island A? Why did it land in the east?
Who did this?
Who could have altered its trajectory?
As if by unspoken agreement, everyone’s gaze fell upon Gu Anxi.
Could it be Young Miss Gu again?
Bo Qing’s fingers slowly clenched, the joints cracking audibly.
Song Jia’s face turned pale. After a long moment, she spoke softly, "Senior Brother, how could this have happened?"
Bo Qing looked at Gu Anxi.
Gu Anxi, still looking towards the east, smiled. "This is my gift to you, Master. Welcome back to Beicheng."
Bo Qing’s expression had been grim, but now he managed a slight smile. "Truly my disciple. Ruthless indeed."
"Not even a tenth as ruthless as you, Master," Gu Anxi replied, her gaze lowered.
Bo Qing’s gaze shifted to the towering flames as he murmured, "Doesn’t that place mean anything to you at all?"
"No," Gu Anxi said coldly. "To me, it was only a place of suffering."
With that, she prepared to leave, but Bo Qing blocked her path. "Don’t you want to go back and take a look?"
Gu Anxi smiled faintly. "Master, I planted miniature bombs in the villa earlier. If you don’t let me go now, fine. We can all die together." She glanced at the people around them. "About a hundred lives. Worth it."
Bo Qing’s brow furrowed. "Nonsense!"
"I learned that from the Second Mistress. She adores blowing people sky-high," Gu Anxi said with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes, a cold glint in them, looking as if she wanted to tear Song Jia limb from limb.
Bo Qing still wanted to stop her, but the hundred or so people present cried out in alarm, "What if it really explodes?"
Just moments ago, they had witnessed Gu Anxi eliminate Bo Jingshen without batting an eyelid. She was truly brutal.
Bo Qing clenched his fists. He was furious. His entire plan was in ruins. She had chosen the perfect moment to shatter their followers’ trust in him. Even if he attempted another launch, it wouldn’t have the same impact now. She truly dared, and she truly had the means!
Gu Anxi clapped her hands. "Alright, alright. You and I have exchanged gifts now, Master. I’m tired. Time to go home and sleep." Stretching lazily, she added, "Oh, by the way, remember to put out the fire. I hear there are still quite a few treasures there." 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
And those ferocious beasts they’d raised to fight people? They must have all been blasted to kingdom come by now!
As for the members of Dark, that wasn’t her concern.
In matters like these, casualties were inevitable.
It was either their lives or hers.
She had never been one for mercy!
As she prepared to leave, Song Jia instinctively moved to block her. A gun suddenly appeared in Gu Anxi’s hand. "Miss Song, I’m not going to fight you."
Song Jia opened her mouth to speak, but Bo Qing narrowed his eyes. "Stand down."
Gu Anxi beamed. "Look how subservient! So beautiful, you could be a queen with countless men eager to worship the ground you walk on. Yet you insist on trailing after a man who doesn’t love you, fawning over others day after day, probably even getting slapped if you displease them." With that, she looked at Old Lin. "Isn’t that right, Grandfather?"
Old Lin replied nonchalantly, "I wouldn’t want her to. Her feet stink."
Gu Anxi was dumbfounded. It was just a figure of speech; it’s not like her feet actually stank!
Old Lin added, "Still, disobedient women deserve to be slapped."
Song Jia was incandescent with rage.
Bo Qing said softly, "Go back and deal with the situation over there immediately." He couldn’t leave himself, so he could only send Hong Fu.
Song Jia nodded. "Yes!"
Gu Anxi tutted twice more. "Going off to do dirty work in an evening gown? Isn’t that exhausting? Look at the life Sister Zhou Yunchen leads, Miss Song, and then look at yours. Isn’t it tiring, living like such a sycophant?"
Song Jia, at her breaking point, snapped, "Gu Anxi, you’re no better! You kill for Bo Xichen, and I act for Bo Qing. What’s the difference?"
"There is." Gu Anxi made a gesture. "I only kill those who deserve to die, like Second Grandfather and Second Mistress! But don’t you worry. After you’re gone, I’ll arrange a proper Buddhist send-off, add your name to his household register, and see to all the memorial rites—the first seven-day, second seven-day, and sixth seven-day observances for you. I’ll even find a way to adopt a child as the fruit of your love... Second Mistress, you may depart in peace."
Song Jia was seething. She had never encountered someone so utterly shameless.
The surrounding crowd was also dumbfounded. Young Miss Gu truly is a master of quick changes!
Gu Anxi stretched again. "Alright, I’m off. Second Grandfather, Second Mistress, good night."
Once she departed, Zhou Yunchen and Shen Congwen left as well. Old Lin took a separate car. Fortunately, it was spacious enough for Chen Ming to squeeze in with them. The moment he was settled, Chen Ming patted Gu Anxi’s shoulder. "Anxi, you’re really something."
Gu Anxi smiled. "It was all within expectations."
Old Lin, stroking his beard, chimed in, "I initially thought I’d have to fight Bo Qing to the death today. I never expected you, my girl, to pull off something like this! Bo Qing looked absolutely livid." He then thought of that character Bo Jingshen, and then looked at his own granddaughter; a shiver went down his spine. She struck so ruthlessly; even he, a veteran of countless battlefields, was shaken.
Meeting their gazes, Gu Anxi remained unperturbed, folding her arms. "Let’s go to the Administration Hall."
Her identity could be concealed for a time, but not indefinitely.
Bo Qing had his warheads for protection; she had none. All she had now was her Big Brother...
