CAT WARLOCK: This Darklord Feasts Upon Horror-Chapter 223: National Highway

One of the two children raised their hand up to stop Selina.

It was a boy with short hair and a girl with long hair.

Selina stopped her motorcycle just a few meters away from the two children. She kicked the kickstand out and went down.

The black cat hovered next to her. He floated in the air like there was no gravity at all. A perk related to the Omnimotion spell.

"Are they strong?" Selina said.

Two octagrams appeared in the black cat’s eyes. He analyzed the wraiths.

"Hmmm? They are weird. I can’t see any Chaos Singularities inside them. Their body are made of pure Chaos." The black cat meowed.

"What does that mean?" Selina said.

"That they might just be projections."

The two children approached Selina slowly. They held hands. The hand of boy raised up and pointed at Selina.

Selina titled her head. Chaos leaked out from her Psycho Force and wrapped around her body. Training with Crow had proved to be a huge benefit for Selina. Not only did she learned many combat principles and tricks, she also figured out how to use Chaos Flesh better.

The principle of using your force to strike was similar in controlling your Chaos in some ways. That gave Selina many ideas on how to use her psychic power better.

A knife appeared in the boy’s hand. The two children rushed at Selina.

Chaos enveloped her fist as she struck the knife. The knife broke into pieces then disintegrated.

The children wraiths were surprisingly quick. They moved like the wind and got behind Selina.

The free hand of the girl transformed into a beast-like claws and slashed at Selina’s back.

A pink force field appeared and blocked the strike from the girl.

"They are quite nimble. Always keep your eyes on the enemy." The black cat meowed.

Selina nodded.

These two wraiths were very weak. But they weren’t level 1 or 2 either. Their power level was around level 4 or 5. The right level for Selina to practice her skill and power with.

And the black cat floated on the side to protect her if something happened.

Selina faced the children wraiths again. Red tentacles reached out from her and plunged into the ground. They emerged around the wraiths.

The children wraiths hopped backwards and avoided all of the tentacles.

"They really are quick."

Selina curled her finger and used Chaos Control. The ground beneath the wraith folded and pulled them into the range of the tentacles.

The tentacles wrapped around the wraiths and successfully bound them.

Selina’s eyes lit up in red. Two laser beam shot out from her eyes and penetrated the two wraiths.

They disintegrated immediately.

"As I thought. They were projections." The black cat stroked its whiskers.

"The Psionic Skills of the Atlas Seven surely are good." Selina said.

The laser beam was one of the Psionic Skills that Mater snatched from the Atlas Seven’s Database.

Selina had also been able to learn quite a few Psionic Skills from the Atlas Seven. She learned the Dampening Static Field back in the White Seam Factory.

She also tried to learn many other Psionic Skills during the training with Crow. Some she had began to get familiar with. She were completely clueless about a few. The laser beam ability, however, she had a very good grasp with.

The official name for the laser beam skill was Optical Laser Beam. It had the same design philosophy as a spell in a sense.

But a spell used Chaos Magic and it might tap into other forces of nature.

Psionic was more internalized and focused on the transformation of Chaos, rather than manipulating the forces of nature.

"If I remember correctly, Titan used the same Psionic Skill, right?" The black cat meowed.

"His is a different Optical Beam. It’s called Optical Heat Beam, which is larger and more destructive than mine." Selina said.

"What’s the difference between the Laser Beam and Heat Beam?"

"Laser Beam travelled faster and it’s more of a cut. While Heat Beam is pure destructive power."

"I think I might be able to adjust this skill in some way." The black cat stroked its whiskers.

The pair returned to their motorcycle and continued on the A1 Highway. Unfortunately, the wraiths they encountered were only projections. They didn’t even have Chaos for Mater to feast.

Selina didn’t wear a jacket that night. Instead, she just used Chaos to wrap around her body to block the wind on the outside.

The goth girl was wearing a short-sleeve shirt and a pair of short jeans. Her glistened pale skin glowed even in the night.

A truck approached her from behind. In the driver’s seat was a large man with a baseball cap.

"Where’re you going this late at night with no clothes on, honey?!" The truck driver shouted in a sarcastic way.

Selina didn’t answer. She twisted the throttle aggressively.

The motorcycle shot forward, its front wheel lifted up into the air.

Selina got in front of the truck. She and the cat gave the middle finger to the truck driver before driving away in a wheelie.

The truck wasn’t able to keep up with them.

The pair continued on the A1 Highway for half an hour before encountering the pair of children wraiths again.

"There they are again! Are they just respawning randomly after they’re killed?" Selina said.

She stopped the motorcycle in front of the wraiths.

"Try not to kill them quickly. I want to examine them." The black cat meowed.

Selina nodded. "I’ll use them to practice my defense then."

Selina cracked her knuckles.

The wraiths rushed at her. This time she focused on dodging and blocking the attacks of the wraiths.

They attacked similar to last time. The boy had a knife while the girl had claws instead of hand. The most dangerous thing about them were their speed.

But the wraiths didn’t seem to be able to separate. Their hands joined together at all times.

Mater used his Octagram Chaos Eyes to examine the wraiths. Weirdly enough, he couldn’t see a Chaos Link of any kinds. Usually a projection should have a Chaos Link leading to where the true body of the wraith was.

Selina continued to brawl with the wraith. She kicked their joined hands in an accident and caused them to be separated.
