Clan Cultivation System: Each Breakthrough in My Clan Earns Me Rewards-Chapter 40: Winter Fur Haze (Unlock - with Coins!)
It was early morning.
Shen Liqian stood still in his room, his hands stretched forward, holding long white martial robes lined with cloud-colored fur.
It was an item he had obtained from one of his clan members’ breakthroughs.
The material was thick, comfortable, and immensely valuable.
It held natural warmth from within, and the part around the neck extended into a hood to keep his head warm.
It blended with the snowy landscape and didn’t restrict movement at all despite its thickness.
[White Fur Haze (Marital Robes) (Spirit)]
[Martial Robes crafted from winter beast hide and fur to keep the wearer warm, flexible, and a part of the winter’s ecosystem.]
[Winter Fur Haze has a passive effect of bestowing "Silent Trek" onto the wearer, masking their steps on the snow]
This wasn’t the only item Shen Liqian would wear today.
He also had socks, pants, and gloves from a warm hide, all obtained from his Clan Cultivation System, but none had a passive effect like his robes.
Their grade was so Shen Liqian couldn’t expect much.
Once Shen Liqian put Winter Fur Haze on, he felt so warm that he opened his room’s window and let the cold wind in.
His steps rang out, so he assumed that the passive effect of his new outfit only muted the crunch of snow.
I don’t mind that.
He hit the wooden floor with the front of his boots a few times to confirm it. 𝚏𝗿𝗲𝐞𝐰𝚎𝕓𝐧𝚘𝘃𝗲𝐥.𝐜𝚘𝕞
His robes fed on his Qi for the effect, so he flooded them with more Qi to test it, but that didn’t mute the sound of his steps or boots.
Shen Liqian flexed his back and arms before meeting others.
In his wake, twelve hydras, two of which looked different, waved their heads around before dipping into Shen Liqian’s shadow.
Soft hisses rose from the hydras and faded as the shadow swallowed them.
"I’m ready," Shen Liqian said.
Zhiyin jumped onto his shoulder and then onto his head, perched there like a lazy cat.
She could cling to him with her Spiritual Qi alone, meaning she would never "hurt" him with her little paws or detach herself unintentionally.
"I look forward to the fruits of your comprehension, Liqian," Zhiyin said.
Shen Liqian smiled softly.
"Same."
He walked out of his room.
Downstairs, Shen Yiren and Shen Jixian were waiting for him.
Both also wore warm winter clothes from Shen Liqian’s system.
Shen Yiren had also received a new spear from his lord.
It had a black bone shaft tipped with a silver, fang-like point.
It looked great as it rested on his shoulder.
On the other hand, Shen Jixian didn’t carry a weapon.
It was because he had tried using one along with his new cultivation methods, only to burn his bows and arrows.
That didn’t mean he was weaponless or harmless.
On the contrary, Shen Jixian had learned how to make a bow and arrows from his Qi, which was more valuable for him as an archer whose arrows could always run out.
Now, however, he could shoot arrows as long as he had Qi.
Both of them cupped their hands in greeting to their lord.
"Good morning, Lord."
The title drew a calm pride.
Shen Liqian chuckled.
"Morning."
A blue light flickered on their fingers.
Those were storage rings that Shen Yiren and Shen Jixian had also received from Shen Liqian.
For this hunting adventure, a lot of items needed to be carried on them.
Supplies, gear, sleeping bags, and dark stones were the primary items that every hunting group needed.
There was always a porter hunter with more of those items in his backpack, but Shen Liqian naturally stored many necessary items in his and his vassals’ storage rings.
"We will be heading in the direction from which the hidden array originates.
"Senior Taofeng and his group will be unaware of this.
"However, we will be a part of their hunting team and entrust ourselves to their care.
"Until anything suspicious or dangerous comes up, we will be mostly under their command."
Hearing Shen Liqian’s instructions, Shen Yiren and Shen Jixian nodded.
A few breaths later, these three met up with Shen Taofeng’s group in the Clan Chief Manor’s Training Hall.
There was also Shen Lexi, Shen Lijian, Shen Wenwan, and Shen Wei along with other elders.
All immediately cupped their hands and paid respects to the Clan Chief as he entered.
Shen Liqian and his vassals reciprocated the gesture.
"We will be in your care, Senior Taofeng."
Shen Taofeng excitedly replied, "Likewise, Chief Liqian.
"We will show you the ropes and seek the greatest haul our clan has yet to see!"
Shen Liqian chuckled.
"Sounds promising.
"There’s also something I’d like to discuss before we start preparations."
Shen Taofeng and others straightened like soldiers.
Shen Liqian nodded.
"On this hunt, I will be trying to elevate your cultivation methods to their true potential and meaning.
"Some of my instructions may sound odd or even shameful, but I hope you will listen to me and help me dig out the buried identity of our clan."
Without hesitating or exchanging glances, Shen Taofeng’s group cupped their hands and bowed lower than usual to Shen Liqian.
"It is our honor to be a significant part of our clan’s development.
"Use us as you see fit, Chief Liqian!"
They chorused.
Shen Liqian and the others nodded with pleasure at such obedience and belief.
"Thank you.
"Let’s begin the preparations then."
Shen Taofeng nodded.
He opened his leather backpack and fished out a silvery flower branch.
Others did the same.
Shen Liqian had all the supplies already, so he followed their instructions and held a similar branch in his hand.
Shen Taofeng explained, "We call this a Scentless Branch.
"Rubbing it on our hands and then smearing it all over us completely erases our scent and makes it much more difficult for beasts to locate us first."
Everyone helped one another apply the effects of the Scentless Branches.
The sap left a cool, waxy film and a faint minty bite that vanished as it dried.
Shen Taofeng then gathered his group, along with Shen Liqian and his vassals, in front of him.
He breathed in deeply before raising his voice.
"Our lives are the most important in this hunt!
"Follow the plan, stick to your rules and stay together, and never spend all of your Qi in combat.
"Look out for each other and don’t act tough.
"Always share anything you notice!
"We must return to our families, even if it means returning empty-handed!"
Everyone decisively nodded.
