Chapter 27: Chapter 27: New Workplace

Since it seemed like Old Yezi didn’t believe him, he described the appearance of the angels. The more Yezi, the more ashen his expression became.

"Anya, it seems we have finally been found and we need to move quickly. I guess we have to find solice with this Jeff guy. Let’s quickly sign the contract. It’s written that it has a teleportation function once it’s signed." said Old Yezi as he took out the contract from the black envelope, bit his thumb and placed it on the paper.

Anya also did the same thing, bit her thumb and placed it on the contract and left her finger print. As soon as both of them signed the contract, the paper burned but didn’t leave behind ashes. An array formation then appeared on the floor they were standing on.

"Lucius, stay close to me!" said Old Yezi as he pulled Lucius closer to him. And soon, the formation fully activated and they disappeared.

While sitting in his office, Jeff received many notifications regarding his recent mission and he couldn’t help but smile.

"Well done boys." he said as he happily smoked his cigar and drank his glass of vodka.

...

When Old Yezi, Anya and Lucius reappeared, they found themselves in an open plaza but they weren’t the only ones there. There were a lot of people in the plaza and they looked as confused as Old Yezi and Anya were.

"Grandpa..."

"I know. It seems this Jeff guy isn’t as simple as we made him out to be." said Old Yezi with a small smile on his face.

Lucius also looked around curiosity and was astounded to see only question marks above the heads of the people here. Some had single, double or even triple question marks above their heads like Old Yezi and Anya.

’Holy shit! Where the fuck am I?!’ exclaimed Lucius inwardly.

It wasn’t just Old Yezi and Anya looking at everyone with wary eyes but everyone was looking at each other with wary eyes.

[Everyone, may I have your attention.] sounded a male voice. A man wearing a white suit was approached the massive crowd of people, following behind this man was someone everyone knew well, Jimmy.

[I hope you’re all doing well this evening. First and foremost, I’d like to introduce myself before we start our conversation. My name is Jeff and I’m the owner of the Apocalypse Shop and also your new boss. As stipulated in the contracts, I shall provide you all with whatever resources you need in order to improve your skills and crafts. In exchange, I hope that you’ll help grow this business and help it reach greater heights. Now, an arrow will direct everyone to where their new facilities are.] said Jeff.

A red arrow appeared in everyone’s eyes and pointed to where they were supposed to go. No one caused a commotion and everyone just followed their arrows to where they were pointing them. Old Yezi and Anya also received directions from their arrow which they followed until they reached what seemed to be their facility.

The words ’Dark Alchemy’ were written above the open storage room that had shelves with drawers. Old Yezi and Anya entered the storage room that was now their shop, they were slightly disappointed by the size of the storage room which was extremely small compared to their previous shop. This storage room was wide and very long.

The two then opened the shelves that had name tags on them to see if there was anything inside and to their surprise, there was nothing inside. Old Yezi then put his hand inside out of curiosity but something unexpected happened.

’This... this feeling is like... a storage artefact!’ thought Old Yezi as he actually felt something, grabbed it and pulled it out. He was shocked that he actually managed to pull something out from an empty drawer.

"Oh my goodness! This... this is the skull of the Cursed Baboon, an essential ingredient when performing a sacrificial ritual to evil entities! Wasn’t it supposed to be extinct! From its condition, it’s still fresh!" exclaimed Old Yezi. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

"Grandpa, look what I found! It’s perfectly preserved blood of an infant Rooza. Also, there’s also the blood of the Yarlda! There is so much well preserved blood in this drawer. Oh, the tag says "Preserved Blood", nevermind." said Anya.

The duo of grandpa and granddaughter explored every drawer in their shop and were shocked by the ingredients that were available here. What they didn’t know was that everyone that was present on the plaza was experiencing the same thing.

...

Daniel, the old dwarf, was also exploring what he could describe as his "tiny" forge but after exploring for a short while, he was shocked by his discoveries.

All kinds of blueprints were placed on the walls of the forge and once he touched one, other blueprints of similar design would appear in front of him although holographically. Also, there were all kinds of materials for forging but before he could check them, something grabbed his attention.

"Oh my goodness! This flame... I can’t believe it! It actually exists... the Eternal Flames actually exist?! Hahaha! Ahahahaha! I don’t regret coming here! I absolutely don’t regret coming here!" exclaimed the dwarf in excitement.

...

Xukka Art also found herself in a luxurious looking store with her name on it. Its exterior was ompletely made of see-through glass and inside were lights that glowed in a gentle gold light. Naked mannequins were placed close to the glass walls.

Inside the store, designer drawings of all kinds were hung everywhere yet in a fashionable and stylish manner that only a designer could understand. All kinds of fabrics were folded neatly and placed beside every designer drawing.

"Beautiful."

...

Another person who wore clothes that completely hid everything about him stood in front of his storage room which was completely dark. The person though didn’t seem to have a problem with this as he simply entered the storage room and completely vanished.

Inside his storage room were all kinds of daggers, poisons, darts, knives, guns, and all kinds of other stuff that assassins usually used to complete missions. This person though only cared about one thing, at the very end of his storage room was a mural painted in black and white. The background was painted in white and a shadow was painted in black.

The problem was that he couldn’t make out the shape of the shadow because it was sometimes an owl shape shadow, a cat shadow and all kinds of other shadows. There were also worlds written beside the mural.

’For one to claim himself or herself or itself as the best assassin, he or she or it should first know how to hide in the light without compromising one’s own identity. This is the first step to becoming the greatest assassin.’

’But how can darkness... hide in the light and not be discovered. Hopefully I can find out in the future.’
