Chapter 30: Chapter 30: Venerable Guest

[Ding! The Host has successfully attracted a Venerable Guest and a reward has been generated.]

[Ding! Congratulations to Host for receiving the All Flames Shop.]

[Ding! Host, please go and welcome the Venerable Guest.]

...

As soon as Jeff received the System Notifications, he teleported to wherever the Venerable Guest was. He didn’t know what a Venerable Guest was but judging from the Shoppy’s tone, it definitely wasn’t a simple person if the system spoke with reverence for this person.

When Jeff appeared in front of the Venerable Guest, he saw an old man wearing orange red robes and wore a crown of fire on his bald head. His entire being released such terrifying heat that space constantly trembled. The old looked imposing. Behind the old man were two youngsters that follows him closely. Jeff didn’t react when he saw Mazal but when he saw Ignis, his eyes gleamed.

Jeff could tell at a glance that Ignis was from Earth and in his eyes, Weaklings represented a System Upgrade and also an increase in Authority.

[Mhm? Who are you?] asked Old Kabaal.

"Oh, my apologies. I’m Jeff, the owner of this humble establishment. Welcome to the Apocalypse Shop where we buy and sell everything." Jeff introduced himself in a humble, neither humble nor overbearing.

[You sell everything? Then do you have Natural Flames?]

"Of course, we have all kinds ot Natural Flames like Spirit Flames, Colour Flames, Treasured Flames, Unique, Legendary and even Mythical Flames. Please have a look." said Jeff as a hologram appeared before Old Kabaal.

Natural Flames referred to all flames in existence that weren’t ordinary or normal flames. Natural Flames were the types of flames that came into existence by natural phenomena.

"Master, you scroll that screen using your finger..." whispered Ignis who looked at the list of Natural Flames from above. Their master was shorter than them so they could also look at list with him. Each flame on screen had a small description beside it. Ignis and shocked by some of the description like the Eternal Flames. It was written that these flames burned forever and nothing could extinguish them.

Sacred Flames were flames that could purity impurities of everything, White Frost Flames could freeze everything including time, Nirvanic Flames could allow one to revive nine times and revive with their peak power before they died.

[Give me a hundred Spirit Flames, ten Red Colour Flames, two Green Colour Flames, two Nirvanic Flames and one Inferno Flames. Choose your payment from these materials.] said Old Kabaal as he threw a storage ring at Jeff. Jeff caught the storage ring and probed it and was shocked by what was inside. The space inside the storage ring was so vast that one could fit literal galaxies inside it.

What was even more shocking was the amount of wealth this old man had.

’Shoppy, take our payment from this storage ring quickly.’ said Jeff inwardly.

[Ding! Scanning the treasures inside the storage ring. Selecting material of equivalent value to what the Venerable Guest bought.]

[Ding! Ten drops of Mermaid Tears have been collected as payment.]

[Ding! Five Yggdrsil Leaves have been collected as payment. Payment has been completed!]

A bottle with nothing inside and five dry leaves floated in Jeff’s palm as he returned the old man’s storage ring to him.

’Shoppy, why did you take only two things? Are the flames so cheap?’ asked Jeff.

[Ding! The value of these two items alone is worth more than any item the Apocalypse Shop currently has. If news of these items were to spread, chaos would engulf the Lumina Omniversal World. Those five leaves come from the Yggdrasil God Tree.]

[Wow, so cheap. How many flames will I get if I give you a branch of the Yggdrasil tree?] asked

"...Everything..." said Jeff with a shaky voice.

...

Meanwhile, somewhere deep in space, a headless corpse floated there calmly with brain matter floating with it. The headless corpse suddenly released smoke that enveloped both it and the brain matter and after a few seconds, there was no longer any brain matter or headless corpse but a complete body.

GASP!

The person in space gasped when he woke up but there was no air, he began to struggle, kicking and coughing until he didn’t. The man had died seconds after he came back to life. The corpse came back to life after some time but the same thing happened. And it wasn’t a process that occurred just once or twice but many times.

"Fuck... you..." cursed the man who was constantly suffocating to death due to the lack of breath in space. And while he kept on dying and reviving, he was also drifting towards a certain direction in space, like something was pulling him towards that direction.

Second, minutes, hours, days, no one knew how much time had gone by because there was nothing that could help tell time. All there was was a vast expanse of darkness that seemed endless. As more time went by, the man in space drifted even faster but he kept on dying and didn’t realise.

It was only when he was close to whatever was pulling him that he realised just in how much danger he was in. The closer he got to whatever was pulling him, the better he could see it. It looked like a distortion in space or a vortex that was invisible but with a very strong pulling force.

The man kept on dying until he was pulled inside whatever it was that had attracted him from afar but inside this space distortion or vortex was hell but painless hell. If the man were to be asked what he’d prefer between suffocation or being devoured by the vortex, he’d choose the vortex everytime.

This was because the vortex instantly killed him while suffocation was a slow, scary and painful death even though it lasted only a few seconds. The man kept being pulverized by the vortex every time he revived. While inside the instant death zone, he’d look around as quick as he could but couldn’t see what exactly was killing him. The place was completely dark without even a speck of light.

As time went by, the man kept on looking around before dying until one day, he saw light but it was only for an instant before he died. Time and time again, he’d see light once in a while and he seemed to be getting closer to one of the points that released the light. Now that he had hope, he no longer kept looking around but enjoyed getting killed over and over again without stop.

He started wondering to himself where exactly he was. Whatever that was killing him, this vortex thing or whatever was completely invisible and was extremely sharp. The guy thought and thought since it was the only thing he could do in this situation and someday, he came to a concluding that had required him to also use the knowledge of the light novels he’d read. The guy came to a single conclusion that he himself didn’t want to believe.

"...Am I...In...A... Spatial...Tornado...?" he softly muttered before being killed yet again.
