Courting Death System-Chapter 36: BOOOOM

Plague Monarch tried to escape from Lucius’s body but it was already too late, he’d already integrated his Law Fragment into the body and since he himself was a Law Fragment, he couldn’t just escape. As Lucius gained more control over his body, Plague Monarch felt that death was fast approaching.

Lucius’s body released a powerful force that created a loud explosion when it collided with the cave walls. Cracks appeared on the cave walls but fortunately, the cave didn’t collapse.

"I sincerely wanted to help you out but turns out you were just after my body. What an ungrateful guy, didn’t even leave... Wow, I have his memories." spoke Lucius in his casual tone. Lucius then looked through Plague’s memories from when he was young.

It seems that when someone possesses a body, he has to read the memories backward like reading a book from the end till beginning while the person being possessed reads memories from the beginning till end.

Seven days later, Lucius finally finished reading through Plague’s memories and opened his eyes which were surprisingly still scarlet coloured.

"That was a good documentary, watching from a first person perspective is so... fascinating. It’s like I’m the main character reliving my past. But it was too short, fortunately, I learned how to use my Principle because if I didn’t, it would be like giving a bow and arrow to a baby. "Rainbow, buddy. I missed you too. Fortunately, you remembered what I said while leaving that forest, otherwise, I wouldn’t even know where to start looking for you." said Lucius while holding Rainbow high up in the air.

"Now,let’s leave this boring place. I wonder what interesting things exist on this planet."

Lucius then stood up and walked towards the cave entrance, the boulder closing the entrance automatically moved to the side. As soon as Lucius got outside, a figure knelt in front of him. It was Rombolos in human form.

"Cult Master, what orders do you have for your humble servant?"

’Damn, does he still think that I’m Plague, that’s great. I can move more freely if everyone thinks l’m Plague. Fortunately, I have some of his memories and know how to act well.’

Although Lucius wasn’t that smart, he’d read too many novels of MC transmigrating into the bodies of powerful figures so he knew what to do.

"Accompany me to the Cult, I want to see the progress it has made over the eons I was asleep. Rombolos then slithered around the underground cavern, using secret passages only accessible by the elders of the cult. Lucius sat on his head and enjoyed the ride.

What shocked Lucius was how massive this place truly was and how many cult members the cult had. They numbered in billions and all of them were fully devoted to serving the cult. As he explored more of the place, he came across someone who annoyed him. Not annoy him personally but someone he just didn’t like at a glance.

Lucius then thought it would be funny to spit on that guy and so he did just that.

Ptui!

Lucius’s saliva moved like a projectile bullet and pierced the person’s skull, killing the young man instantly. The acidic saliva continued its acceleration and pierced the wall. The young man’s head then melted a few seconds later.

"Ahhh!" screamed the girl the young man was with as she ran away.

’Shit! I completely forgot about this trait. And how did I even manage to land a bullseye on that guy. I need to restart training my abilities but with no talent or guidance ’ thought Lucius.

"Let’s go."

"Yes, Cult Master."

Soon, someone came to investigate the death of the young man after the girl reported it. It was an Outer Elder of the cult.

"So you’re saying the projectile came from that direction?" asked the elder while pointing at the wall behind them. Anyone hearing the girl’s story would think she is crazy because how could an attack come from a wall. The elder thought otherwise.

"Tell me, what were the two of you doing here alone? You know the cult rules right?"

"Yes elder."

"And what are the cult rules?"

"No sexual interactions between cult members unless they are married or engaged."

"So, what were you two doing in here all alone?"

"I... We..."

"Now listen, if you don’t want to suffer from punishment, forget this ever happened alright."

"Yes elder. Thank you elder."

While exploring the underground world, Lucius was curious as to why the cult lived underground instead of the surface.

"Rombolos, why is my cult built underground again?" asked Lucius.

"Have you forgotten Cult Leader? We built an underground base because we’re constantly under surveillance by your enemies. Every once in a while, someone will use their Divine Sense to scan the place of any cult members. Especially your fiance’s family, they are still looking for you to this day. You told me that you don’t want to settle down before you accomplish your goals and ran away on your wedding day. I can’t believe that they’re still on your tail. How do they even know about your Law Fragment?"explained Rombolos.

’What? Enemies? Wedding? What the fuck is going on? Damn Plague, you’re very courageous to run away on your wedding day. It seems you still don’t understand how terrifying women can be.’

"I’ve seen enough. Let’s go back to my cave aboard. And Rombolos, I want you to prepare a trip to my fiance’s family. This body’s ’frustrations’ haven’t been quelled yet and it’s messing with my meditation sessions."

Lucius returned back to his cave and sat cross legged and sorted out his thoughts because his mind was all over the place.

’Why did I kill that guy for no reason? And after that, I didn’t feel any remorse for what I did. It’s like, life and death of both myself and others doesn’t affect me in any way. When did I start changing? Forget it, like my father always said, any change is good change because it represents a growth in state of mind. I’ll take my ruthless personality as a good change.’ thought Lucius.

Lucius then grabbed Rainbow from under his robes and held him gently in his arms. This small frog with big eyes was very beautiful and cute.

"Rainbow, no matter if I’m good person or an evil person, you’ll always stay with me right?"
