Courting Death System-Chapter 37: Space Pirates

When Lucius came to be, he found himself in a somewhat familiar place, he looked around but there was nothing in sight. It was when he started to run out of breath that he remembered why exactly this place looked so familiar.

’Outer Space.’

Soon, Lucius suffocated to death but that was the least of his worries, right now, he was thinking about something completely different. Tears cascaded from the corners of his and floated with him.

’Rainbow.’

When Lucius revived again hours later, he thought about what exactly happened. He was chatting with his pet frog when the planet’s core exploded due to unknown reasons, both Rainbow and him as well as everybody else was incinerated by the searing flames.

’What happened? Damn it, if only I could revive instantly, maybe I could’ve seen just what exactly caused the explosion! Damn it! Revive me after a minute! Revive me after a minute! Revive me after a minute!’ Lucius repeated the same words over and over again until he died.

When he revived, he didn’t know if it had been a minute or not since he was flouting in empty space, no planets, no stars, no galaxies, no nothing. The cycle of dying from suffocation began once again

Lucius didn’t know how many times he’d revived or how many days, weeks, months or years had passed but one day, he saw light. Although it was very far away and dot sized, he could clearly see that it was light and it was coming towards him.

Lucius was happy that light was approaching, he didn’t know if it was the same light as the one from the Spatial Storm or not but as long as it was coming his way.

<Captain, I’ve detected a human ten million light years away.> sounded a female and robotic voice.

"Cindy, how many times should I tell you, give me more information about whatever you find." sounded a male, slightly robotic voice.

<Yes Captain, the human is male, naked and is a Principle Master.>

"Are you sure?"

<Affirmative.>

"Okay, then fly over. Who knows, maybe he’s worth something. By the way, how can he be alive when he’s naked and in space?"

"Cindy, answer me."

"If you don’t know something, just admit it. I got you now hehe, didn’t you call yourself an all knowing AI, so tell me why he can survive naked in space."

<Flying towards target at full speed, will reach the target in approximately one hundred days. Brace yourself Captain.>

A hundred days later, a spaceship floated before Lucius, a small opening pulled Lucius inside before closing and the space ship turned invisible.

"Cindy, do a full body scan on this human and do it fast. Also, give me a Fifth Grade Slave Collar, just in case."

<Yes Captain. The subject is a human, with a Bloodline Purity of 98%, Principle Master of the Poison element, extremely poisonous blood, acidic saliva, toxic breath and Poison Elemental Soul. He is approximately ten thousand years old and is dead.>

"WHAT?! Holy Moly! Did we just find a valuable corpse just floating around in space? No wonder it survived the destruction of a universe, so it’s a treasure corpse. Boys, we’ve struck gold this time around."

<Change in status, the human just came back to life.>

When Lucius woke up, he found himself in an unfamiliar place, a group of what seemed to be modified humans or cyborgs were looking at him like he was some valuable mineral. These guys had half human parts and half machine parts. There was one particular guy though, a middle aged man who only had machine eyes and the rest of his body seemed to be flesh.

"Who are you guys?" asked Lucius as he slowly stood up from the metallic floor.

"Space Pirates and who are you?" answered the peculiar middle aged man.

"Lucius Lothra."

"Hello Lucius, I’m Godfrey, captain of the Meta Space Pirates. Now let me quickly give you this before we continue our conversation." said Godfrey as he put a collar around Lucius’s neck. The collar then turned into a tattoo around his neck.

"What is this?" he asked.

"A slave collar. Now, tell me, who are you really, where do you come from and how did you survive a collision that completely obliterated an entire universe?" asked Godfrey.

"I am Lucius Lothra, an Earthling from planet Earth, I love playing games, I studied..."

"Stop! Forget about who you are or where you come from, just answer the last question I asked you." said Godfrey. Lucius didn’t know what was going on but his mouth moved by itself and spilled his secrets.

"I didn’t survive." answered Lucius.

’What’s happening to me? Shit, it must be the collar he put around my neck!’

"Don’t play with me, tell me truthfully, how did you survive the collision that destroyed a universe?"

"I didn’t survive. I died in that collision." answered Lucius in a monotonous voice.

"What? Then how are you still alive?" asked Godfrey with a slightly announced voice.

"I revived."

’Fuck!’

"What do you mean you revived?" asked Godfrey in a shocked tone, it wasn’t just him who was shocked but also his crew mates.

"I came back to life."

’Fuck! Keep quiet! Keep fucking quiet!’ alas, he no longer had control over his body or actions, he was like a puppet. 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ𝓋𝑒𝑙.𝑐𝘰𝑚

"You mean like died, like really died and came back to life kind of revival?"

"Yes."

"HAHAHA! BOYS! DIDN’T I TELL YOU! DIDN’T I TELL YOU! WE’RE GONNA BE RICH! WE’RE GONNA BE FUCKING RICH! HAHAHA!" shouted Godfrey in excitement.

"We shouldn’t have doubted you Captain! Hahaha! We have to celebrate!" said the crew mates while hugging each other in joy.

"Tell me, how many times have you revived and how did you get the ability to revive?"

"I don’t know, I lost count. As for how I got this ability, I created it." answered Lucius. The excitement ended right then and there.

"Did you just say you created it? H-How?"

"Yes, I created this ability through a game called System Online. I think it activated after the destruction of my home planet." explained Lucius.

"If I kill you right now, will you come back to life. What are the conditions to activate this ability of yours?"

"Yes, I would revive if you killed me. Death is the only condition to activate this ability."

"Good. Boys, lock him inside the asylum room. Cindy, change course, we’re going to the Andromeda Empire!"

Lucius sat alone in a room with only a door and a bed. He sat on the bed as he stared into empty space.

’Collision? Destruction of a universe? Just what kind of collision is capable of destroying a universe. What materials when colliding could create an impact strong enough to destroy an entire universe! A fucking entire universe.’ thought Lucius.

’I have to investigate what exactly was the cause of the collision. Whoever or whatever you are, you don’t get to kill my pet frog and walk away scot free. I’m about to go John Wick on your ass!’ vowed Lucius.
