Courting Death System-Chapter 40: Zombies

"Let’s talk later about your title. Right now, we need to experiment on your ability to create... Zombies. Follow me." said Sugitrox as he waved his hand and the two reappeared in what appeared to be a prison of some sort. Different creatures were shackled in chains inside these prisons. Because he was Old Yezi’s disciple, Lucius recognised most of the creatures here.

They mostly consisted of beasts known as Magical Beasts, Lucius didn’t know what they were called in this World. Apart from Magical Beasts, there were also Demi humans, humans, beastmen, elves and other kinds of creatures.

"I bought all of them after I scanning your body and I think they’ll make for perfect experiments. These are the creatures I want you to start on, I went to great lengths for them so hopefully they don’t disappoints." said Sugitrox as he grabbed a thick chain on the ground and pulled it. Five chained creatures were dragged out by Sugitrox.

The first one had long pointed ears, green hair and eyes, extremely beautiful appearances and the smell of nature. The second creature had a mostly humanoid appearance, a yellow bick, extremely big and clear eyes and grey wings on his back. The third one was a magical beast called the Phantom Cheetah. The fourth one was... well, Lucius had to look at Sugitrox for answers.

The creature had a human body that was covered in scales, some big and some small, five centimetre claws, a pangolin-dragon head with a long muzzle and sharp teeth.

"This one is one of my experiments that I was willing to part with. It’s a chimera that I created, its a combination of a human, a dragon and a pangolin and it has some of the best defences that I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately, it’s brain dead."

"What do you mean?"

"Exactly what I said, this chimera is brain dead or its soul is dormant, whatever the case may be. What I mean is that intelligence creatures rely on their mind and unintelligent creatures rely on instincts to survive but this one relies on neither. It doesn’t do anything, eat, shit, breathe, nothing, it’s like a puppet without its strings. I had no choice but to freeze it in order to preserve its life and now it seems like I’m about to reap the rewards for my efforts." explained Sugitrox.

"I see."

The fifth creature was a demon, a Minotaur to be exact, it had an African buffalo’s head, a muscular red skinned human torso and brown furred bison legs. It looked menacing and scary like how it was depicted in movies and novels.

"What a splendid choice of experiments if I do say so myself. I don’t even know where to start." said Lucius.

"Start with the chimera." replied Sugitrox.

Lucius nodded and approached the chimera that looked down the whole time. Numerous holes opened up on the frog helmet and Lucius released a thick cloud of blackish green smoke that entered the chimera’s body through its nose, ears, mouth and pores. This was Lucius’s Toxic Breath at play, his breath acted like it was alive because as soon as he breathed it out, it rushed into the chimera’s body like it was food.

After all the Toxic Breath entered the chimera’s body, at first, nothing happened but after some more time passed, the chimera dropped to the floor. Sugitrox touched it with his finger to check what was happening.

"It’s dead." he said but didn’t retract his finger. About five minutes later, the chimera’s body suddenly shook like it was being electrocuted by a high voltage electric wire. Its light brown scales then changed colour to dark grey, its body then released a thin layer of mucus that was especially concentrated on its claws and mouth. A pungent corpse-rotting stench was also released by it.

"Oh my, it’s so... fascinating, magical and beautiful. So this is how it works, no wonder he was called Anti-life Monarch." said Sugitrox.

"Wait? You already know that I’m Anti-life or that I inherited his Law Fragment, why did you still accept me? Aren’t you supposed to use everything in your power to get rid of me? Is this why you gave me the helmet?" asked Lucius.

"Of course I already knew about your identity, those eyes are one of a kind, only unique to Anti-life Monarch. As for the helmet, didn’t I tell you already, you’re hot stuff that everybody wants, all the nobles want to experiment on you."

"But that’s impossible, I’m fucking sure that the Walelur World is big enough to birth a few millions of scarlet eyed people."

"It’s more complicated than you think, point is, this is not the rest of the World but the Andromeda Empire, anything here goes. Now, do you want to know what I discovered or not?"

"I do."

"Then listen properly. When the Zombie toxins enter the body, they spread out in all directions and cover the whole body, in an secretly fast manner of course. Then, they kill the host or in more direct terms, take the life of the host and use it to make themselves come to life. After coming to life, they then take control of the body and it become their own. Isn’t it beautiful?"

"In s animal sense then no but if you’re asking me then yes. What’s more beautiful than watching the wonders of the universe. Quite inspiration, take what you don’t have and give back what you have, a life for death."

The chimera then slowly stood up and opened its eyes which were scarlet like those of Lucius’s. Lucius felt an inexplicable connection with the zombie, his first ever zombie.

"I’ll call you... Genesis." said Lucius but the zombie didn’t seem to understand anything he was saying and just stared into empty space. The shackled creatures were terrified by the results of the transformations and wanted none of it

Lucius though didn’t care about their feelings and turned them all into zombies. When they turned into zombies, their skin, whatever colour it was turned grey, their hair and fur fell to the ground and their eyes turned scarlet, together with stench and thin mucus membrane around their bodies.

Lucius looked at his five zombies that looked no different from idiotic harmless creatures but he knew that appearances were deceiving.

[Kill.]

The zombies rushed into the prisons and started biting and scratching the other prisoners and there were many of these prisoners.

"This might take a while. Let’s go have something to drink and we’ll come back after an hour."proposed Sugitrox.

"Sure."

"Hey Sugitrox,do you know about the Dragon King? The one who’s said to have destroyed a few universes not long ago." asked Lucius while drinking some juice.

"Oh, I heard about that. How foolish of Gonzo to allow a skeleton to desecrate his ancestors tombs. I must say, that skeleton is plenty brave and plenty capable haha."

"So his name is Gonzo, can you tell me more about him, his strength and stuff."

"Oh, you’re very interesting in this Gonzo guy, judging by your straightforwardness, I presume he’s not on your good books. Well, his name is Gonzo, Gonzo Vabalaz, a really strong dragon. I don’t know if I should really tell you how strong he is because I don’t think you can take it."

"I want to know."

"Fine but don’t say I didn’t warn you. He’s a Dragon God, a Higher Tier Dragon God to be exact. At his current level, if he unleashes his full power, he can probably destroy a hundred universes minimum."

"What?"
