Courting Death System-Chapter 88: George Guzman

When the camp was attacked, all Bronze and Silver Knights were quickly taken off without even showing the slightest bit of their abilities and only the Golden Knights lasted a bit longer.

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

One of the Golden Knights with Psychic Abilities controlled his blade shards immaculately against five Xenomorphs attacking him from all directions. His blade shards were extremely but the tails of the Xenomorphs were very strong and durable, plus, with their acidic blood coating their tails, many of his blade shards were melted and soon, he was quickly dealt with but not killed.

Another Golden Knight with Fire Manipulation kept throwing fireballs at his targets who were quick and agile, constantly missing them until he tired himself out and collapsed. Similar scenes were taking place everywhere within the huge tent. Their enemies were too cunning and nimble to inflict any damage on them and many Golden Knights collapsed one after the other. Only one Golden Knight stood his ground and he had the Earth Manipulation ability which was extremely effective.

Many of the Xenomorphs found themselves stuck in quick sand and couldn’t escape while others were fighting the rock golems he created but the energy he was expending was a bit too much.

’Let’s finish this!’ he said inwardly.

Something collided with him so hard that he immediately lost consciousness and crashed through the tent, tearing a whole through it

The Xenomorphs worked quickly after receiving an order from the higher ups, stripped the knights naked before leaving with them. This was done to ensure that no tracking method would be taken back to the Nest unless the people themselve were tracking devices.

When the knights woke up, including the Golden Knights, they found themselves in a dark place with plenty of mucus all over the place and glowing flowers that were about to bloom. They tried to move their bodies but were completely paralysed and only their eyelids could move.

[Welcome to my humble abode, as you can see, I try my best to keep the place clean for my children.] sounded a feminine yet eerie voice as a colossal creature made its entrance. It walked bipedaly and every step it took caused tremors on the earth.

[My name is Armin, nice to meet all of you.]

The knights didn’t know whether to be shocked by the monster’s colossal size or be terrified of its ability to speak the human language so fluently.

[Now, I came here for only one thing and that’s information. How do you know about my existence? Answer this question and I’ll reward with glory of giving birth to a Royal Guard. As knights, I’m sure you value honour over everything and giving birth to a Royal Guard is the highest honour you can receive in my home. So, who wants to this honour of the highest order?] asked Armin but all knights remained silent.

She waited patiently but no one responded to her question but she wasn’t angered by their silence.

"What are you and where do you come from?" asked one of the naked golden knights.

[I believe every conversation starts after the person introduces themselve, correct?]

"My apologies. I am... or was the leader of this expedition, George Guzman is my name. Now, would you kindly answer my question?"

[Sure. I’m a Species called a Xenomorph, a Queen at that and I was born here in this cave by my human mother, who took care of me for a month before passing away. Now, will you answer my question?]

"The priest, the priest had a revelation about danger hiding in this place and we were sent to investigate the source of danger. And I must say, you’re not a danger at all." said George.

[Oh, then what am I?] asked Armin.

"An Existential Threat."

[I’m flattered by your remark. Can you tell me more about the outside world?]

"No."

[I’m willing to trade information with you, ask whatever and I’ll answer your questions then you tell me about the outside world, deal?]

"Deal. The Foggy Mountains, Sadi Sands, Marsh Swamp, the Rainu Forest and the Endless Trees landscapes take up most of the continent’s land and house an unknown number of Mutant Beasts and Poisonous Insects. On the north are the human territories or rather kingdoms, the Light Kingdom, the Sacred Kingdom, the Dragon Kingdom, the Vampire Kingdom and finally, the Zombie Kingdom. I don’t know what’s further than that." said George.

[I see.]

"Now, my turn, how did you come into being, I mean, how is there so many of you in such a short amount of time."

[It’s because of my reproductive capabilities, the combinations of a Xenomorph’s and a human’s high reproduction rate allows me to give birth to thousands of eggs a day."

"And how long is the gestation period? The growth period and what’s your weaknesses?"

[Interesting questions, I wonder how you’re going to transfer this information back to your superiors. Anyway, normal eggs only need less than a hour while royal eggs need a few hours max. Once the Facehugger finds a Host, the Chest buster is born in hours and also grows to adulthood after devouring their Host. As for weaknesses, one on one in the same level, the xenomorph would win. I think a ten versus one would do the job, otherwise, my babies will return victorious, that’s our only weakness I think.] answered Armin truthfully.

"I have no further questions." said George.

[Good, then let me show you how I raise my army. Come.]

Many Facehugger crawled down from high above the walls and hugged the Bronze Knights faces, followed by the Silver knights.

[Bring them with me.] said Armin and the a few Worker Xenomorphs dragged the ten Golden Knights and followed behind Armin and entered the more spacious cavern where there were larger eggs.

[By the way, what do you call people like yourselves and does everyone have these special powers?]

"We call ourselves Mutants and only those with a certain Radiation levels awaken superpowers, in special cases, children are born with these superpowers."

[Mhm. Now, these are the Royal Facehugger prepared especially for you all.] said Armin as sixty centimetres long Facehugger with protruding veins approaching the ten men.

"Gentlemen, it’s been an honour fighting along side you. We’re proud Knights Of Order, not cowering in front of death but facing it head on. Long live the King!"

"Long live the King!" ×9

The Facehuggers seemed to gain momentum after the soldiers were prepared for death and just when they jumped to hug the faces, one word sounded out.

[Anti-gravity!]

Then everything and everyone except for George started to float in the air involuntarily and since none of the Xenomorphs had ever experienced weightlessness, they panicked. Even Armin was momentarily stunned by this phenomenon and in this chaos, George’s eyes grew eight spiderly legs and crawled out of his sockets and onto to the ground.

With the last bit of strength that George had, he activated his last ability in hopes that the information would reach the kingdom.

[Earth Escape!]

The eyeballs were then swallowed by the ground and disappeared, after that, George was completely exhausted with an extremely pale face. Only then did the anti-gravity get cancelled and everything returned to the ground.

[Hihihi, what interesting abilities you have there. My army will definitely come out victorious in every battle with the ability to change the terrain. George Guzman, I shall never forget this gift you’ve given me. Maybe if it’s possible, I’ll spare your kingdom once.] said Armin with an excited voice before the Facehuggers did their thing, cracking the skulls of their hosts in the process.

While Armin was waiting patiently for the birth of her new Royal Guards, the eyeballs reappeared ten thousand kilometres away from the Nest, turned into two flying bugs and flew away at great speed.

Fifteen days later, a huge army with many Golden Knights and a few Diamond Knights met the bugs halfway. The Diamond Knights were exuding overwhelming presences, quickly collected the bugs and went back to the kingdom.

Back at the Nest, the new Royal Knights had reached adulthood after ten days since the Chestbusters ate their hosts very slowly. These ten Royal Guards were all exuding great strength and quite literally unique. One of the Praetorians was covered in flames, another had a bigger shield shaped head, another with a very light and agile body but the one that made Armin the happiest was the Praetorian with a shield head covered in rocks with a strong earthy smell.

[Did you get it?] she asked and the Praetorian nodded its head.

[Show me.]

The Praetorian nodded as its colour changed from black to earthly brown, its saliva changed into fine sand particles that caused dust in the air.

[Anti...gravity..!]

All the Praetorians and Armin herself began to float in the air before falling down seconds later. Although it couldn’t compare to George’s, Armin was still happy.

[My Queen, give me a few days of practice and I’ll give you satisfactory results.] said the Praetorian with a voice that almost sounded like George’s.

[You have seven days, after that, we’re taking over the whole Foggy Mountains and everything in it!]
