Demon CEO's Hidden Love: Mr Grayson Stole Me From My Abusive Husband-Chapter 97: A Jealous Wife
Chapter 97: A Jealous Wife
Rushing out of Hannah’s room with his hands covering his ears, Gilbert halted when he got a call from Thane, who should’ve been home about two hours ago.
"Thank heavens you called master Grayson, I was starting to get worried. Did you just arrive?" He asked looking out a window at the hallway. He smiled when he watched the black car drive into the area’s vicinity, Thane had a medical appointment tomorrow, one he couldn’t afford to miss.
Thane grunted over the phone, "Gilbert, there has been a slight change in plans, you see I won’t be arriving tonight."
Gilbert laughed, "What do you mean? You just arrived?" He asked, using his eyes to count how many people would emerge from the seat.
Unfortunately, he counted just the driver and the bodyguard that was hired specially for Brooke.
"You see, I’m headed to the main house, it’s father’s birthday and..."
Gilbert’s heart skipped a beat, "Master Grayson! Please do not tell me that you are on your jet?"
"Actually-" Thane’s voice was drowned out by the sudden announcement.
"Ladies and gentlemen, my name is Jacobs Freeman and I will be your pilot this lovely night." Said the pilot on the plane.
In a rush, he dashed for the elevator, sweating profusely from the stress. "Master Grayson! Don’t tell me you are on a plane?!"
Thane sighed, "I’m sorry, but it seems we have to turn off our phones at this point. I’ll be speaking with you once I land, till then, I leave the house in yours and Hannah’s care." He announced, then ended the call abruptly.
"Hello?! Hello?!" Gilbert aggressively took the phone away from his ear and stared at the screen for a solid three seconds.
"Master Grayson! You’ve never even traveled on your own before! What the-" he ran his fingers frustratedly through his hair as he waited for the elevator.
Hannah emerged out of her room, holding the cup of coffee in her hand, and the blanket balanced on her shoulders.
"I heard you shouting, what’s wrong?" She asked.
Gilbert exhaled roughly, "Master Grayson is on a plane!"
"What?!" Hannah nearly spat out her coffee. "What about his condition? Isn’t he only supposed to travel when it’s necessary? Isn’t that why he takes the jet?"
Gilbert stepped into the elevator once it arrived, Hannah sharply followed.
His temples pinched, he explained, "He knows better than anyone that he shouldn’t be travelling long distances. He even has a doctor’s appointment tomorrow! What do we do if his situation acts up? He’s all alone!"
Hannah’s face was sunken in worry. But she quickly recalled, "He’s with Miss Brooke isn’t he? I think we should tell her about his condition, so she can watch over him."
Gilbert sighed, "I was thinking the same, but I don’t know how well the decision will sink in with Master Grayson. Not to mention he’s taking her to the main house."
The hairs on Hannah’s hands stood, she hated the main house just as much as the next person.
"I don’t understand, why would he all of a sudden decide to take a plane? What if he gets kidnapped?" Gilbert fussed, making himself more worried.
Hannah passed him the cup which she hadn’t drank out of yet. Gilbert subconsciously sipped from it, she took the blanket off her shoulders and placed them on his. As soon as the elevator reached the ground floor, she held him by the elbow and guided him to the dining table, then sat him down.
"Okay old timer, don’t get ahead of yourself. This is the young master we’re talking about. He knows how to handle himself, besides, let’s put some faith in his wife, she’ll take care of him, I just know it." She said trying to place his mind at ease.
Gilbert took more sips, calming his tensed nerves.
Hannah went on, "Just call the main house and alert them of Master Grayson’s return, although I doubt the young master hasn’t already done that himself. So quit your worrying, and let those lovebirds enjoy their time together. Who knows, they might just turn this trip into a honeymoon."
"You’re right." Gilbert said, "There’s nothing to worry about."
"There’s nothing to worry about." Thane chanted repeatedly as the plane readied to take off. He dug his nails deeply into the seat and took heavy pants in-between his words.
Brooke leaned in and lowered her tone. "I thought you said you’ve flown in your jet, so why are you all pale looking?"
Thane wanted to clarify two things.
One being that for most of his trips, he was barely conscious, considering he was flown out for medical emergencies.
And the second being, that he had a private jet, because of the appeal of PRIVACY. But now...
Sounding on edge, Thane demanded, "How is it, that all the first class seats on this plane are occupied?"
Brooke groaned, "Well, it isn’t like I could predict a company was kind enough to treat it’s employees on a first class incentive trip."
Thane looked around at all the people who had their gazes on him. He noticed some young girls gawking at him, and some older women making flirtatious advances towards him.
Even some men had their gazes pointed at him.
Brooke noticed as well and felt awful for dragging Thane out on this poorly planned out trip. She noticed some younger ladies try to take a video of Thane and immediately tapped his shoulder.
"Hey, let’s swap seats."
Thane shook his head, "I want to be nowhere close to that window."
Brooke gently stroked his arm, "I’ll hold your hand throughout take off?" She offered.
"Fine." He conceeded, and they proceeded to switch seats.
Brooke pointed her gaze at the frowning women, and sent them a harsh glare. The women, defeated turned away from the couple, earning a triumphant grin from Brook.
However, Brooke’s bravado was cut short when Thane reached for her hand and held it tightly.
Startled she looked at him, "It isn’t takeoff yet." She pointed out.
Still holding her hand he cocked a sly grin, "I have to appease my jealous wife in some way." he said then kissed the back of her palm.
