Destined Entwining: Capturing My Devoted Beau-Chapter 637 - 337: Metamorphosis (Second Update)
The man running at the front is Edward Foster.
He actually had no idea what had happened here; he just followed the location Lawrence Winters gave him and made his way over.
Upon seeing a coffin on the open ground ahead, along with two people fighting, he instinctively shouted.
Soon, one person ran away, leaving the other lying on the ground. The remaining person crawled to the side of the person on the ground, crying loudly, "Nick! Nick! Wake up! Wake up!"
Edward Foster ran forward, his eyes wide open.
Isn’t this... Lawrence’s mom?
The unconscious man on the ground, isn’t that her uncle?
Something indeed had happened!
Edward Foster’s hands and feet turned cold instantly.
The bodyguards behind him also ran over.
Realizing that something indeed had happened midway up the mountain forest, their expressions turned serious.
Initially, these people thought Edward Foster, this wealthy young man, was just having a midnight whim by calling them out.
They didn’t want to come out, but since they accepted payment, they had to help.
After arriving, they realized it wasn’t that simple.
"Mr. Foster, we need to get him to the hospital quickly," Edward Foster’s security assistant said with experience, "This is the scene; let’s have someone guard it. I have already sent people to follow the three who escaped ahead. Report to the police tomorrow?"
Edward Foster nodded, "Then let’s get to the hospital quickly!"
He walked over and bent down to speak to the tearful Gabrielle Winters beside Nick Zeller, "Mrs. Winters, I’m a friend of Lawrence’s, my name is Edward Foster. She asked me to find you all."
Gabrielle Winters suddenly raised her head, looking at him with surprise, "Did Lawrence send you?!"
"If you don’t believe me, you can call her right away," Edward Foster said, beginning to dial Lawrence Winters’ number.
At this moment, Lawrence Winters had just boarded the private plane Kenneth Osborne arranged overnight.
Hearing the phone ring, she saw it was Edward Foster and hurriedly answered, "Mr. Foster, did you find my mom and uncle?!"
"Found them," Edward Foster said awkwardly, "Could you speak to your mom?"
Lawrence Winters hurriedly said, "Let my mom take the call!"
Gabrielle Winters took the phone from Edward Foster, holding back her grief, and said, "Lawrence, come back quickly. Something happened to your uncle. Did you send Edward Foster to pick us up?"
Lawrence Winters nodded, "Yes, Mom, are you okay? If you’re okay, that’s good!"
"I’m fine. It’s Nick who’s in trouble." Gabrielle Winters wiped her tears, "I’ll take him to the hospital now. You hurry back!"
Lawrence Winters quickly said, "I’m already on the plane, and I’ll be in Capital City by tomorrow morning! Send me the hospital address!"
Gabrielle Winters handed the phone back to Edward Foster, saying, "Mr. Foster, where’s the nearest hospital?"
Edward Foster said, "I know the area well; I’ll take you there."
He signaled, and a few bodyguards came over and lifted Nick Zeller off the ground.
Half an hour later, Nick Zeller was already lying in an emergency room at a hospital at the foot of the mountain, beginning treatment for his injured leg.
"What happened? A comminuted fracture of the calf; it’ll take half a year to heal. He’s not young anymore; couldn’t he be more careful?" The on-duty doctor mumbled softly, putting a splint on Nick Zeller’s short leg before sending him for a CT scan to see if there were any other injuries.
After the CT scan, Nick Zeller was sent to a single room, and the doctor instructed, "His other injuries are just soft tissue contusions, not serious, but he might have blood clots in the back of his head. We’ll have a neurologist examine him tomorrow. Let him rest well today."
Gabrielle Winters only had a wrist bruise, which the doctor cleaned and bandaged.
Edward Foster waited until the doctor left, then said, "Mrs. Winters, you can rest over there; there’s a bed. I’ll watch over Lawrence’s uncle for you."
Gabrielle Winters shook her head, "I’m not tired. I can watch over him. Thank you so much for tonight, Mr. Foster. It’s getting late; you should go back, perhaps?"
"I can’t go back now." Edward Foster shook his head, "I’ve had the scene where you were attacked on the hillside secured; we’ll report to the police when it’s daylight."
Gabrielle Winters suddenly remembered the contract that nearly cost Nick Zeller his life and said, "We lost a document at that place earlier; could you have your people help us find it? See if they can locate it." 𝙛𝓻𝒆𝓮𝒘𝙚𝙗𝒏𝙤𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝒐𝙢
"A document? Okay, let me ask." Edward Foster said, then went outside to call his people stationed on the hillside.
Based on his description, the people over there searched with a powerful flashlight and found the contract inside the coffin.
