Entangled in the Night: Unable to Escape Him-Chapter 19: Who Said I Was Married
Does this woman love her husband that much?
Even while on a business trip, she still remembers to order a custom birthday gift for him.
Having just a little physical contact with her makes her scared enough to escape quickly.
He really wants to see what kind of man makes her so devoted.
Silas Prescott looked at Chloe Nash with complex emotions: "I didn’t expect Dr. Nash to be such a virtuous wife and loving mother."
Chloe Nash appeared indifferent: "Isn’t Mr. Prescott also a good husband to Mrs. Prescott and a good father to Julian Prescott?"
Hearing this, Silas Prescott frowned slightly: "Who told you I was married?"
"Your son is already so old, if you’re not married, where did the son come from?"
Thinking about Silas Prescott being married to another woman and having a child, Chloe Nash’s heart felt as if it was stabbed.
If only Silas Prescott’s feelings for her weren’t so obsessive and crazy, she wouldn’t have risked giving birth to a child in a war zone.
This led to her and her son being parted by life and death.
Listening to her words, Silas Prescott thought to explain, but then he recalled how affectionately Chloe called someone ’husband’ and suddenly a strange thought emerged in his mind.
He didn’t deny Chloe’s words but instead smiled naturally: "I’m not as good as your husband. If I have the time, I should learn from him how to be a good husband and a good father."
Chloe Nash couldn’t help clenching her fist.
She didn’t expect that Silas Prescott would learn how to love for another woman. Why didn’t he understand these things when he was with her?
Indeed, a pet is just a pet, and a wife is a wife; he fundamentally distinguishes between the two roles.
One is for his entertainment and leisure, while the other is to spend a lifetime with him and bear children.
Thinking about this, Chloe Nash felt as if her heart was wrapped in ice and snow, chilled.
Without thinking, she directly refused: "My husband is not available, Mr. Prescott, please figure it out yourself."
After speaking, she directly opened the door and walked out of the stairwell.
Silas Prescott stood there, recalling Chloe’s earlier reaction.
She seemed a bit angry.
Why did she get so angry when he said he wanted to be a good husband and father?
Could it be that her love with her husband is all an act for him to see?
Thinking of this possibility, the cotton wall blocking Silas Prescott’s heart suddenly vanished.
Chloe Nash explained all of Old Master Prescott’s conditions to Silas Prescott in detail.
Silas listened attentively, nodding from time to time.
When he saw Chloe had finished speaking, he asked, "That’s all?"
Chloe Nash: "That’s everything. You can call me anytime if there’s anything else."
She nodded at Old Master Prescott and then turned to leave.
Silas Prescott was lost in thought watching her back until Old Master Prescott’s voice sounded in his ears.
"What’s the use of looking? She doesn’t fancy you."
Silas Prescott smiled, walked over, picked up a bowl of congee from the table, stirred it a few times, and said, "Do you have to criticize me this soon after waking up? Am I really that bad?"
Old Master Prescott snorted: "Are you not aware of how bad you are? Such a good child as Sienna was driven away by you, leading to her death on the battlefield. When I die, I wouldn’t know how to face her grandfather, who entrusted his granddaughter to me, only for you to torment her to death. Don’t think I don’t know the ’good deeds’ you’ve done."
Although Old Master Prescott doesn’t know exactly what happened between the two, he could guess most of it.
It must be that Silas Prescott wronged Sienna, which led her to become a doctor in a war zone.
Poor child suffered so much outside, and in the end, didn’t even have a body left.
Hearing these words, a shadow briefly passed through Silas Prescott’s eyes.
His actions slowed a bit.
Sienna Paxton’s death was like a thorn stuck in his heart, hurting faintly each time it was mentioned.
He refused to believe it was true and always wanted to find evidence to prove Sienna Paxton was still alive.
But until now, he hasn’t found any effective information.
Silas Prescott forcefully buried the emotions in his eyes, barely curving his lips into a smile and said: "Have some congee, or you won’t have the strength to scold me."
Old Master Prescott glared at him: "If only you had known this would happen, you wouldn’t have gone down that path."
As the two were talking, the door to the hospital room suddenly opened.
Henry Prescott walked in with some people.
"Dad, I heard you woke up. Mrs. Sterling wants to come and see you."
Behind him were Mrs. Sterling, Claire Channing, and her daughter Stella Sterling.
The two approached Old Master Prescott’s bedside with much concern: "Old Master, I brought Stella to visit you. How are you feeling?"
Old Master Prescott smiled and greeted: "So this is the little princess of the Sterling Family. Truly as beautiful as a heavenly fairy."
Stella Sterling smiled and nodded: "Grandpa Prescott, you’re too kind. I hope you get well soon so that I can invite you to my concert."
"Haha, alright then, I’ll definitely come to see it."
The Prescott Family and the Sterling Family have always had business dealings, and both families wanted to matchmake Silas Prescott and Stella Sterling. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
However, Silas Prescott has always been opposed to it.
Seeing all this, Silas Prescott already guessed his father’s purpose in coming.
He nodded slightly at Mrs. Sterling and her daughter: "Thank you for visiting my grandfather, but he’s just woken up so it’s not suitable for him to get too tired. If there’s nothing else, please leave."
Henry Prescott glared at him in annoyance: "Stella just got back from abroad, and before she even adjusted to the time difference, she came to see your grandfather, and you don’t say welcome and want to drive them away."
Stella Sterling wasn’t angry; instead, she smiled and took the bowl of congee from Silas Prescott’s hand.
"Brother Silas, you’ve worked hard taking care of Grandpa Prescott. Let me help you."
She carefully stirred the congee in the bowl a few times, scooped a spoonful, and brought it to Old Master Prescott’s lips, her voice gentle: "Grandpa Prescott, you’ve just woken up and can only have some liquid food for now. Once you are better, I’ll personally cook a feast for you to celebrate your recovery."
Hearing her words, Old Master Prescott looked at her with some surprise.
"You know how to cook?"
"Not only do I know how, but I also cook very well."
Old Master Prescott laughed heartily: "Your hands can not only play the violin but also cook. Whoever marries you will be very fortunate."
Henry Prescott added fuel to the fire: "Who wouldn’t agree? It’s hard to find such a beautiful and capable granddaughter-in-law like this."
Chloe Nash, at the door, heard these words.
And she happened to see the harmonious scene inside the hospital room.
She couldn’t help but tighten her grip on the report in her hand.
