Heaven’s POV

I opened my eyes and saw that it was morning. The ointment Desmond applied to my cheeks to help with my pain has worked like a charm.

I didn’t feel any pain throughout the night and I had slept like a Pup.

I sat up and stretched my body expecting to see Becca bustling around putting things in order like she usually does.

But the room was unusually quiet. The little cot at the corner was empty. It wasn’t even squeezed to show that she had slept in it this morning.

I looked towards the bathroom and I heard noises. She was probably the one. I tapped my knuckles on the bedside table to make a sound trying to get her attention but there was no answer.

Suddenly, the door to the bathroom opens and Mrs Higgins walks out.

"Good morning, Heaven," she said.

She didn’t look at me. She was focused on the dirty cloth on the table.

I came down from the bed and tapped her on her arm. When I finally got her attention, I pointed towards the cot.

She immediately understood who I was asking for.

"Oh, Becca had an urgent family issue. She had to leave very early this morning. She said she’ll be back by next week," Mrs Higgins said.

I sighed. I felt unhappy. The only person who was good to me was finally not here. But at the same time, I hope that she is able to resolve the issues so that she can come back early.

"I just prepared a bath for you. I’ll also be very Mrs Higgins said looking at me.

"I’m in charge of preparing for the quadruplets and Sofia’s birthday.

I was confused. I know that Sofia and the quadruplets share the same birthday but she never celebrates her so what was she talking about? 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

"Take care Child," Mrs Higgins said and left hurriedly. It seemed like she was really beey today.

I was completely alone in the room. I went into the bathroom and soaked myself in the bath. I was done so I came out and dried my hair and was still in my robe.

Then I sat back down on the bed and was feeling really bored.

I tried walking around the room to ease the boredom but it did nothing at all.

I didn’t want to just stay in here doing nothing so I decided to go out and get some fresh air.

The garden was the only quiet place I could think of.

I went to the dresser and took out the most comfortable dress I had. A simple pale yellow dress that belonged to my mother. Then I took out my favourite scaf and put it on my hair.

I walked out of my room and made my way towards the garden but to save time I took a shortcut that led through the training grounds.

I saw Lycans and other wolves practicing with swords. Even young wolves and young pups were learning how to ride horses and use swords. It was really cute.

I noticed that some of them turned towards me and began whispering and pointing towards me.

I initially thought they were pointing and whispering because they probably heard what happened to me at dinner.

But some of the Lycans were looking at me lustfully.

That was when I remembered that this was the place where I had been stripped and beaten.

That means some of these Lycans saw me naked. I hurriedly left for the Garden in embarrassment.

When I got there I saw maids gardening and plucking flowers.

I went forward and plucked a daisy flower. My favourite. I sat on a bench watching as I heard the birds singing. It was really peaceful.

I turned to the side to take in everything. Then I saw Damian walking towards me with his Beta, Felix.

For some reason, I didn’t feel scared seeing him even after what had happened.

When he finally looked in my direction, our eyes met and he stopped walking.

I smiled at him as I stood up from the bench to face him. I even saw that he looked pale and hurt as if something bad had happened to him.

What happened to him and why was he looking like that? I didn’t know if I should move closer to him or if I should wait for him to come to me.

When I was still thinking of what to do, he turned around and started walking away in the direction he had been coming from. He was pretending like he didn’t see me at all.

I frowned as I watched his back for a while. Why was he avoiding me?

I wanted to know why he did this so I ran.

I ran and caught up to him. I held his arms gently and looked him in the eyes.

When he turned to look at me, I saw sadness. The kind that I hadn’t seen before. He was really looking at me in sadness as if I was causing him pain.

"Don’t come close to me I don’t want to hurt you again," Damian said as he removed his arm from my grip and immediately stepped back.

I came closer to him to show him that I just wanted to make sure he was okay but he stopped back again

I tilted my head to the side in total confusion. I looked at him then at his Beta then back at him again.

Was this a joke or prank? Cause I needed someone to explain to me what the hell was going on.

"Please stay away," he whispered.

He looked at me one more time and walked away from me.

Felix paused and looked at me. He was about to follow his Alpha but I grabbed his arm to stop him.

I needed answers and I was going to get them.

I liked from Felix to Damian’s back, then back to Felix again.

Felix looked toward Damian’s back, then sighed and looked back at me.

"He’s regretting what he did to you, He hates himself for raising his hand against you. So he’s starving himself." Felix whispered not wanting the maids around to hear.

My eyes widened in shock. Why was he starving himself?

"He locked himself in his study since yesterday, He refuses to eat. He doesn’t want to see or talk to anyone. He’s punishing himself." He said

I stood there in confusion as I nodded.

I let go of Felix’s arm, and he hurriedly walked away to catch up with Damian.

As I went back to the bench, I kept wondering why in the world Damian would feel guilty for hitting me. He didn’t even want to see anyone and he’s depriving himself of food. This is seriously crazy.
