Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 111 - . The beginning2
Chapter 111 - 111. The beginning2
Back of my hand; gold, past; eyes, ears, and heart uncovered.
A girl with long hair and dull eyes sits in a white room. A hospital bracelet hangs around her left wrist, the words 'Withdrawal clinic' awfully prominent on it.
"Can you hear me?" She asks into the silence, not receiving an answer.
"There has to be someone. Answer me." The absence of a voice starts to feel oppressing to her.
"Come out and talk to me, no matter if Emilia or Henrietta, come out!"
"Who are you??!" Finally, there was someone responding inside her mind.
The girl on the bed smiles lightly.
"My name is Henrietta. I want to tell you a story."

"We are like sisters, do you understand?" She finishes after explaining.

"Yes, though I am not sure if I am actually losing my mind."
"You are not, believe me. Now tell me about yourself, about your family..." The dull girl softly demands.
"My parents and I live in a little flat, together with my brother; we are just a normal family; how is it with you?"
"Mhm, I am the same." The girl plays with her hospital bracelet.
"If what you said is true, why are you contacting me? What do you want?"
"We have to meet. We have the responsibility to watch over the parallel-worlds." She utters.
"Is that...is that so?" The voice asks.
"Yes. Like in the movies. We are superheroes."

The girl walks into a forest, near an empty district. She reaches her hand out, to 'touch the air'. She can feel that there is something strange here, like she had felt when she was a little child.
"Have you found the place? It should be in a forest on your side as well."
"I think I got it, what now?" The voice sounds in her head.
"I don't know." The girl answers, trying to come up with a solution.
"I don't think this will work..."
"It seems so." The dull girl crouches down, and burrows her head in her knees.
".... I have someone I could ask... His name is Kenny."
"Who is Kenny?" She looks up sharply.
"Oh...he has a remarkable ability. I asked him to look into my past after you contacted me the first time. I started to get bad dreams of people screaming, blood, and corpses. I wanted him to tell me if there was an event I had forgotten about."
"I told you it's a secret, didn't I?" The girl on the ground hissed.
"I didn't tell him anything! But even if I would, he is not the kind of guy to talk about it! And he is the real deal, he really has a fantastic ability!!"
"Kenny.... I think there is someone like this at my school as well. Maybe he can help..."

"Henrietta, I am so scared of him... Last time he choked me!" The voice speaks.
"Stop yapping about him, wasn't it you who brought him into our lives? I talked to him, and besides him being unable to help even a bit, he is just your average high-schooler." The girl laying on the bed in her room at home answers.
"Stop being so mean! I'm really terrified! I want to meet you; I don't want to stay in this world! He will kill me, I can feel it..." The voice turned more desperate.
The black-haired girl raises her head, she can feel something change. It comes from the direction of the new district, the project that was finally continued after the tragedy back then.
"So we both have to be desperate to open the portal... Maybe Kenny really helped us out." She mumbles.
"What...what do you mean?" The voice asked, amidst tears.
"Meet me at night in the forest. The same spot as last time."

Henrietta walks into the forest.
"Did you arrive?"
"Yes, I am here. If this doesn't work, I will directly go to the police."
"Mhm. I have a good feeling, though. I want you to put out your hand, and feel the barrier. Dive into the desperation to leave your world. Feel it."
It didn't take long when the thundering sound of a lock springing open was heard before something changed.
The pressure in the air accumulates, and Henrietta smiles. She takes a step towards the invisible portal before being in front of a girl looking the same as her, maybe a little healthier, a little happier.
"It.... worked..." The other girl says, her breath accelerated, as she stares in disbelief at herself. However, she doesn't seem as happy as the other one.
"Something is wrong. I can feel it, we shouldn't have done this..."
"Why? What do you mean? It's our destiny." Henrietta narrows her eyes.
"Where are your parents? Bring me to them!"
"No...no... this isn't good. That was a mistake." The second girl bends over and vomits on the ground.
"We shouldn't have... we shouldn't have done this."
Strange sounds emanate from their surroundings, as the earth starts to shake.
"THIS IS WRONG, IT'S WRONG!" The other girl screams after wiping her mouth, her voice is, however, drowned by the shaking ground, a scene as if the world were ending.
Henrietta slaps her harshly to calm her down, trying not to loosen her balance while doing so. The second girl falls back, her head hitting a stone as she stops moving.
Eventually, the earthquake stops, and Henrietta kneels on the unconscious girl's side, patting her face lightly.
"What's wrong with you?"
"Wake up!"
Henrietta tries to lift the other's head, only to discover sticky blood that pooled out from the wound on the other girl's skull.
"Damn it." But then she remembers. There couldn't be two Henriettas in the same world anyway. And the other Henrietta surely wouldn't want to leave her world, after she was insisting that this was all so wrong and everything.
She stands up and leaves, walking through the forest. However, the forest doesn't end. There is no city, just a black forest as well as a green forest, mixed into a surreal landscape.
She wanders for days until she arrives at the spot where the other Henrietta still lies. Strangely, there was no hunger or thirst that tied her down.
"Have I gone in a circle?" She asks nobody specific. She begins to feel desperate, hopeless.
"Where am I?" Why is nobody here?
'I just need my parents, it doesn't matter which world we are in as long as we are together again. I want my parents!' She thinks, and then she feels it.
Another spot, amidst this black and green forest, another potential portal that just waits for her to come and open it.
She reaches her hand out before taking another step, a step that brings her to the place she had longed for.
