Flip the Coin [BL]-Chapter 112 - . Success meets Obstacle
Chapter 112 - 112. Success meets Obstacle
Yet, this was not exactly like the world she had expected. Instead, the forest had turned green completely, and there was a city—part of it at least. She sees hundreds of people scattered on the ground, all of them unconscious.
Hope bubbles inside her as she checks each of them.
Eventually, she stands over an unconscious couple along with a teenager, looking the same as her.
Her trembling hands reach out, as she falls to her knees.
"Mum." She grips her mother's hand and shakes it, like she had done on this fateful day. She feels for a pulse, and discovers that she is alive.
Likewise, she stumbles up and comes to her dad's side. He is also alive as well.
"Oh god, thank you!" She exclaims before crouching to their side, waiting for them to wake up.
Her body feels strange. Strengthless, feverish, as if she would soon perish, as if everything inside her was sucked out. Whatever power she has, she has overused it, as it seemed.
But she can't die now that she has found her parents again.

The black-haired girl is carried by her father, as they speak with the other survivors, who begin to wake up.
"What happened?"
"Where is this place?"
It was then when the black-haired girl's body suddenly tensed. Her father panics, and the mother rushes to them when they see their daughter taking a deep, audible breath.
Henrietta sees pictures, — a lot of them; she lives through a complete life in which no Emilia contacted her, in which her parents were alive, in which she started to hear the voice of Henrietta, and in which she fell in love with Kenny. In which she made the mistake of following what Henrietta says, doing something irreversible. This life ends when the Kenny she loves, chokes her to death.
When she exhales, everything is over again, and her body has become much stronger than it was before.
She understands now. As long as she is aware of a specific version of herself and this self dies, she can become stronger and replenish her power.
Screams from the forest and terrifying sounds force the people who have woken up outside to seek shelter in the little city.

"We have been here now for more than two days. We should go and hunt with the others, or we will starve." The older man says inside their little apartment.
"I will go." A young man with blue eyes responds.
"It's dangerous!" The mother intercepts, but her son is hellbent on going.
"I will go too." The man says, but his son shakes his head,
"No. I will go alone."
"Just let him go." The tall black-haired girl nods.

"I am scared, what if something had happened to him?" The mother says, sitting on the couch between her husband and her daughter.
"He will be alright." The father grabs his wife's hand.
As if on cue, the door opens and their son enters, yet his face is as white as a sheet.
"Henrietta. Come with me now." He puts a dead rabbit on the kitchen counter.

"What happened?" Their parents stand up in alarm but their son waves at them.
"I need her for a moment." He says. The girl nods and follows him out.
The girl doesn't ask questions, and her brother doesn't explain; instead, he leads her to the forest. They meet no people on their way because everyone would barricade themselves in their apartments if not going hunting together. At least the electrical supply and plumbing functioned, so they were not dying of thirst. But there is no food—nowhere.
They see a cave not that far away when her brother suddenly stops.
"I knew it from the moment I woke up, and now I have proof. You are not my sister, so who are you?" He stops and points at the corpse behind a tree. The girl's arms and legs are missing, gruesome and grotesque looking skin shreds in their steads, while her blue eyes are wide open, telling of the horror she had experienced before dying.
Henrietta stops, and feels her stomach churning.
Why does she look like this?
When Kenny had choked her, she still had her arms and legs. After swallowing bile down, she looks around and sees a stone on the ground. She thinks fast.
"It was her ex-boyfriend Kenny. He killed her; she has evidence on her; go and look for it. I will explain everything then."
Her brother looks at her before turning around to walk to his dead sister's side. The moment he does, the girl behind him grabs the stone and bashes his head. When he falls, she straddles him and continues until he is not only dead but also unidentifiable.
After standing there for a while and looking at her brother's corpse, she walks a bit closer to the cave and finds a few other bodies there, in the same state as the other Henrietta; their corpses mutilated. That should have been the monster they had heard, but not seen.
She drags her brother's corpse to the cave, using all her strength and needing a few breaks in the process.
Then she turns around and looks at the corpse of the girl who looks just like her. She feels that the portal is nearby, it hadn't closed.
She walks there and tries to close it until she gets an idea. Maybe it doesn't close because two pieces of the same soul are in the same world?
Henrietta2 might have to be on the other side. Additionally, nobody would look for her if her corpse would be found.
And, the situation in which Henrietta2 was found in here, and where she was confronted with questions, would never repeat itself if the mangled body left this world. She wanted to also destroy her face so that nobody recognized her, but was, by any means, unable to attack a face that was exactly like her own with a stone like she had just done with her brother.
She needs a few tries until she is able to touch the corpse because she is so unbelievingly disgusted, but finally, she carries it to the portal.
Because arms and legs are missing, she is at least not that heavy.
After crossing the portal, she arrives in the forest her journey had started from, there is no black forest anymore, no surreal landscape.
She wants to leave the corpse here, but she doesn't want people, police, and others to come near the portal, even if she would manage to close it. So she drags the corpse to the middle of the newly built street.
After placing her there, she notices a string around the corpse's neck. Pulling on it, she discovers a little chest bag with the other Henrietta's phone and keys in it.
"That you still have these on you... Well, he deserves it." She mumbles, leaving her like this and returning to the forest. She crosses the portal and tries to seal it, but she doesn't manage, even with the other Henrietta's corpse outside.
Opening the first portal needed the help from the other side. Then she managed to open another portal on her own, depleting her strength until she was close to dying herself.
Now, she has no clue how to seal it.
No matter, it shouldn't be that easy to cross. She tells herself that probably only she was able to do so because only she had this ability.
When she returns home, she tells her parents how her brother was killed by a monster, how she had only managed to survive because he had saved her.
They are devastated, but believe her because she is their daughter, and also because more people get attacked, these monsters were soon spotted.
