Hellbound With The Vampire King-Chapter 95: Anxious Mate
Chapter 95:Anxious Mate
Serena tried to picture the big scary vampire king seated behind a table, a pen in his hands as he wrote this message that seemed more like a confession than a message, the more she thought about it, the more it was hard to portray him writing this, that was just how strong-faced the vampire king looked. Serena was touched, she pulled the jewelry set from the box and was again in shock to see yet another display of wealth, the maid had not lie when she said ther was more in the box. Because Serena was staring now at a diamond-encrusted tiara adorned with sparkling and intricate designs with precious gems.
She brought it out of the box and snapped the lid shut, then placed the box on top of the vanity table before she took her time admire Eiravyn’s gift, she went as far as to set the tiara on her head and examined the way it fit into her hair, the diamond and her red hair appeared to be in total harmony — it suited her so well.
As Serena smiled at her reflection in the mirror, she quickly wiped the tear stains on her cheeks as this was not the time to get emotional, this was the time to prove to Eiravyn that she would be a perfect queen to his kingdom and a perfect mate to him, as this thought came to her mind.
She dabbed at her cheeks, before placing the jewelries set and tiara on the box, she placed them carefully at the side and called for the servants to start getting her ready.
Time seemed to be suspended inside the closet room as Serena surrendered herself to the hands of the ladies. Her nervousness was somehow reduced by Eiravyn’s gift. She had been worried about how the vampires would accept a human but knowing that Eiravyn wanted her was enough for her. She was also relieved to hear the excited chatters of the maids and servants as they were constantly showering Serena with praises, as they put her make-up on.
They couldn’t help but fascinate about Serena’s luminous skin as even though Serena was not a vampir neither was she a supernatural being, her skin was still by far the most lustrous they had ever seen. Some of them felt that there was no need for Serena to wear any makeup. Truth be told, Serena could easily pass as the most prettiest woman in all the kingdom, and this fact left the ladies in shock, they felt that she could easily overshadow Lady Caroline, if she was still alive.
However, they kept these thoughts to themselves. No one dared to say this to Serena, since they were not sure of her position in the kingdom, they quietly did her makeup, only complimenting Serena a few time.
"My lady, you already look so pretty." The ladies could not help but praise.
Serena was still yet to wear her dress but she was already a beauty to behold, with just her hair and makeup done.
She started at her reflection. Under their expert hands, she felt like she had been transformed to someone else, Serena found a love woman staring at herself in front of the full-length mirror. It was time for her to choose the gown she would wear to the banquet.
Since she had so many options to choose from, she didn’t place too much thoughts on it, the ladies again urshered her to the wardrobe area, they brought out different silk gowns made of lace and had embroidered with precious gems. The gowns they brought for her was mostly red, purple, and so many other striking color, that had Serena feeling like it wasn’t fitting for her. She was never the type to wear provocative clothes, and she didn’t feel like changing now.
Serena left the clothes the ladies brought out, and instead went to search for what she felt suited her, and just like that Serena’s eyes lingered on one dress. She picked it up from the hanger and turned to the ladies. 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
"What do you think about this?" Serena asked, eagerly waiting for their opinion. The maids had mixed feelings, with some of them thinking the clothes Serena choose was not a statement piece and that it looked too plain, while some thought it would fit her all the same because the gown was a sharp contrast to her striking red hair, the gown Serena pulled out was a beige colored gown that looked almost white, it made some of the maids think it was not suiting to be banquet worthy since vampire and vampiress loved to dress bold and suggestive.
While the others felt like Serena could easily draw the attention of the crowd to herself by dressing completely different from the vampires norms, and those some was the twins. They were the first to speak up that had Serena smiling brightly.
"Oh my lady! I think you have a choice." Aurora said and her elder sister seconded with a little nod, Serena smiled at this.
"Then, let’s get started, shall we?" Serena responded, this seemed to rouse the other ladies who felt the dress was not appropriate and they forced a smile before leading Serena back to the closets. Before they could start dressing Serena, Lila, the assistant head maid, suddenly excused herself from the room in a hurry.
Serena turned to look at the girl wondering where she was rushing to but at the end, she shrugged and turned back to face the mirror.
