Help! I Think We Summoned A Demon King-Chapter 9: Accomodations
"I welcome you all once more, Heroes from another world." The King spoke from his throne, his gruff voice carrying through the entire throne room, and almost instantly, all the whispers and murmuring died down, with everyone directing their full attention at the man who commanded immense respect with just his royal aura.
"We are fully aware it will take some adjustments before you see this kingdom as home, and we will do our best to make sure that everything is to your liking. And that you are all properly prepared before you are sent to battle the demon king and his agents."
"Lord Strategist," The king called, and the lord strategist bowed slightly before clapping both his hands. The clap thundered through the throne room, and there was a silent pause for a moment before the massive double exit doors that had been closed all the while that Zorat and his group were there, suddenly sprang open with a loud creak.
What followed was a procession of insanely beautiful and sexy ladies wearing the same outfits, pouring into the throne room. They wore sexy maid uniforms. A white and black tight-knit gown, with the front fashioned into an apron, and on top of their heads was a white circular band to hold back their long flowing hair in place.
Wowza.
What do we have here?
Their entrance caught everyone’s attention, as all these maids were all very beautiful. And they walked in a very appealing and coordinated manner, obviously they have been well-trained.
Their black shoes rang through the throne room as they all began positioning themselves behind each of the gathered Heroes, and one stood right behind Zorat as well.
"Honored Heroes. These ten are your assigned maids. They will see to all your needs, and will first lead you to your designated chambers." The king explained stoically.
"Please, eat, rest, and if you have the time, take a stroll around the castle and get familiar. This will be your new home henceforth. We will also hold a banquet later this evening to celebrate your arrival." He added before standing up and began retreating through the door to the right side of his throne.
The court ministers bowed in respect at his departure. And right after he was through the door. The princess studied the group of gathered heroes for a couple of seconds more before retreating as well through those same doors.
The lord strategist didn’t go through the door they went through, and just walked directly through the gathered crowd of ministers, and made for the normal exit, but not before casting a sideways glance at Zorat, while pulling at his single moustache lightly.
I should probably kill him, right?
But can I? Compared to the stats that guy possesses, my current stats are shit.
Though it would be fun to die in a battle, it shouldn’t be at the hands of someone so weak.
This one probably requires one of my delicate touches.
That aside. I need to get to work.
And I think I have found it here, of all places.
I, Mal’Zorat, accidentally coming across the one thing that had eluded me for countless millennia, all the way in another dimension, is the most ridiculous thing to ever happen to me.
Well... not the ’most’ ridiculous. But definitely up there on the list. Hehehe.
First things first, though. I need to make sure Lumrheal cannot track me down through this pesky mark on my soul.
Good thing I came prepared.
"Lord Hero."
Zorat was pulled out of his thoughts by a small voice from behind. He turned slowly with a gentle smile to meet the maid assigned to him.
"What’s your name, gorgeous ?" Zorat uttered softly, gazing into her face, though she refused to meet his eyes. It seems that’s the way they were trained.
"My name...my name is Florielle, Lord Hero." Florielle stammered in response. A bit taken aback that a hero would be interested in a maid’s name.
Zorat, through his years of life, has had countless servants and disciples. He was accustomed to the formality that existed between two people of different statuses, but he wasn’t frigid in its execution. He is someone who properly ’enjoys’ those around him. And he would prefer they enjoy him too.
"Florielle, I see. Pleasure to make your acquaintance. Lead the way ?" Zorat was ready to leave this place and quickly seal the mark placed on his soul.
The ministers of court had approached all the other Heroes and were having conversations with them, probably trying to kiss their ass for their own agendas. Zorat thought.
You can even see there is a little bit of favoritism going on, as more of the ministers are currently swarming some Heroes more than the others.
None had approached Zorat, though. And none of the other Heroes had come to strike up a conversation with him
Common guys. Am not that bad. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
Zorat smiled. He would have immediately turned down anyone who approached him anyway. He had a lot to take care of at the moment. Stuff that couldn’t wait.
However, I need to start getting ’familiar’ with some of them soon. Hehehe.
"Of course, Lord Hero. This way, please." Florielle bowed in understanding and began leading Zorat towards the exit.
They moved through the marbled floors of the throne room and stopped at the large exit doors made of enchanted-timber deep mahogany.
The guards gave a light bow to Zorat as they opened the large doors to allow them passage. What greeted Zorat on the outside was a vast corridor that was lined with luxurious frames of people he assumed to be the previous kingdom leaders.
The maid kept walking as they passed by multiple doors and corridors until they were outside the palace. Now Zorat was starting to wonder where they were actually headed, because the king had said they would be accommodated inside the palace.
Still, he said nothing and just followed behind the maid. He already had his suspecions but he kept that to himself.
It was bright outside, with two yellow suns glowing brilliantly in the sky, and dousing the palace grounds with warmth. There were trees and countless gardens, with birds chirping as the flew through the air.
The air was ripe with the scent of greenery and abundant vitality, with random gusts of midday breeze brushing through Zorat’s black hair.
He took in a deep breath, admiring the fresh view as he walked, and snickering occasionally when maids scurrying about their duties would suddenly slip and fall.
Ah. Sweet freedom.
"We are almost there, Lord Hero," Florielle informed from the front, almost sounding apologetic. You could even make out a tinge of guilt in her voice.
Zorat noticed this and just ignored it. He was curious to see where they were headed. And if it was too shitty a place. He would find the person who made the accommodations, and ’thank them properly’.
She kept walking, and Zorat followed. They passed by the knights’ training grounds and even the stables until they reached a simple hut, some distance behind the horse stable.
Hmm. I expected worse.
Florilele opened the doors and stepped inside, so Zorat followed.
"Lord Hero. I have prepared some clothes for you. Some are on the bed, and some are in the wardrobe." Florielle spoke with heavy guilt as she stepped aside.
Zorat observed his new accommodations with complete indifference. He understood these people had assigned this shabby place to him because he awakened as the trash item box hero.
What a nice kingdom.
I should treat them nicely as well. Hehehe.
The chamber, though made of aging wood, was spotlessly clean, with everything arranged neatly. There was a large mattress with silky, clean sheets and four pillows. A wooden table and chair, a large standing mirror, and some light decorations on the wall. There was even a restroom to the side.
For what I have in mind...
This will do just fine.
"Now..... Florielle."
"Yes.... lord Hero," Florielle mumbled apprehensively. She was sure the Hero would complain bitterly about being given such shabby accommodations. But she almost pissed her pants at Zorat’s next words.
"Go get me a knife."
"Ahhh ?!"
