How Did I Become an F1 Driver?-Chapter 130 - 96: First Day on the Job
After arriving in Maranello, the two of them were not taken directly to Ferrari’s headquarters by Lubos. Instead, he first led them to an area fenced off like an independent community.
"These are the dormitories prepared by Ferrari for employees. This will be your residence for the time being. Of course, if you’ve rented a place of your own, you’re free to move out. Ferrari has no restrictions on that," Lubos explained.
He then led the two into the interior of a house.
The houses are divided into two floors, but the two floors are independent of each other.
Qin Miao and Qimeng were assigned the upper floor. They walked up the stairs inside the house to the second floor, and Lubos pushed open the door, which wasn’t even locked.
Once inside, Qin Miao and Qimeng curiously examined the place.
The interior of the house was quite ordinary, not luxurious, but it was evident that it was regularly cleaned thoroughly. The rooms were filled with various items commonly used in daily life, giving the house a cozy, homely feel rather than appearing empty.
The size of the house was moderate, roughly over 60 square meters, but Qin Miao couldn’t distinguish what specific rooms there were just yet.
"The property rights of this community are all held by Ferrari, so you won’t need to pay rent while living and working at Ferrari. But utilities like water, electricity, gas, and heating are your responsibility,"
Lubos took out a set of keys from a shoe cabinet at the entrance and handed them to Qin Miao: "These are your keys. Make sure you don’t lose them. Although the company has spare keys, losing them and applying for a new one from the logistics department might earn you a scolding."
When saying this, Lubos looked a bit uncomfortable, probably having some past incidents in this regard.
Qimeng took the keys and thanked him.
Once confirming that Qin Miao and Qimeng were satisfied with the house without requesting a change, Lubos said, "If you’re happy with the house, just leave your luggage here. It’s very safe; no one will touch your things. Next, we’ll go to the cafeteria for lunch, and then head to the museum, factory, and company." 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The dining place was a restaurant not far from where Qin Miao and the others were staying, just about a five-minute walk.
From the outside, the restaurant looked quite normal, just a well-decorated Italian restaurant.
But once inside, the racing theme was unmistakably strong.
The walls were covered with murals of Ferrari race cars, and even all the table edges were trimmed with Ferrari’s red and black colors.
The chairs resembled full-enclosed racing seats, although they had hollow designs in the middle for comfort.
Moreover, since it was lunchtime, the restaurant was quite full, and Qin Miao noticed many employees dressed in Ferrari’s red uniforms.
During the meal, Qin Miao tried the lasagna and ice cream.
How should I say this, these Italian specialty dishes were very flavorful and had a nice texture. Overall, Qin Miao quite liked them.
Of course, these could only serve as substitute meals. If Qin Miao had to eat them every day, he might go crazy.
So after the meal, Qin Miao asked Lubos, "Lubos, is there a Chinese restaurant nearby?"
Lubos thought for a moment and then said, "I think there is a Chinese restaurant nearby, but I haven’t eaten there. Why are you asking?"
Qin Miao, a little embarrassed, said, "I’m not saying Italian food isn’t good, but as a Chinese person, not having rice might feel a little unusual..."
"Oh, you mean that, you don’t need to worry at all," Lubos said with a smile. "Starting from tomorrow, when you officially start work, your diet will be managed and specially arranged."
Qin Miao: ...?
"What do you mean?" Qin Miao suddenly had an ominous feeling.
The smile on Lubos’ face was somewhat mysterious: "It means starting from tomorrow, when you officially start, what you eat won’t be up to you."
For a moment, Qin Miao felt that even if he didn’t eat Chinese food and only ate what the locals enjoyed, it would be fine...
After lunch, under Lubos’ guidance, Qin Miao and Qimeng entered Ferrari’s museum.
Ferrari’s headquarters weren’t very tall; most buildings were just two stories, but the area they covered was quite large.
Throughout, Lubos didn’t seem like just a Physical Trainer but came across more like a tour guide, with an undeniable expression of pride as he introduced Ferrari’s rich history, factory facilities, and corporate culture to Qin Miao.
Upon entering the museum, what first caught Qin Miao’s eye was a neatly arranged row of more than a dozen Ferrari F1 cars in a semicircular formation, immediately filling the view of first-time visitors to the Ferrari museum.
The visual impact of seeing more than a dozen F1 cars in a large space as soon as you enter the museum was incredibly intense.
In front of each F1 car was its name, the driver’s name, and the achievements this car had obtained in that season.
Qin Miao looked at each car one by one.
After passing through this area, what appeared in front of Qin Miao was a grand wall of honor. Behind it were many of Ferrari’s famous classic sports cars.
The wall of honor was filled with trophies of various sizes and colors, all recognizing Ferrari’s achievements.
