I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 104: The A-Force
An explosion erupts, and everything becomes a white blur.
Blaze and Hutton all get far away from the explosion, running close to the gate.
The shockwave from the explosion spreads even there and blows the tree outside to tilt. Even branches get blown away because of the wind.
Parts of the police building are decimated, along with the corpses that are still inside. Blaze hopes the souls of those corpses will still be collectible, they are free experience points in the end.
When the explosion subsides, a giant hole is created in the ground.
Zach lies in the middle of it. Most of his armor is broken apart, golden liquid pours out from the armor and flows to the sky.
Zach has blood all over him, with his left arm completely blown off. A side of his face is completely messed up, and it is hard to even recognize its original facial features.
But he is still alive, barely.
Zach grabs the remaining half of his helmet to throw it away. On it, there are still pieces of the Circlet from before.
"Fuck!"
He growls like a beast.
Blaze wastes no time to get close to him. The dark red energy of Fear spreads out and immediately penetrates Zach’s mental fortitude.
Similar to Adam, Zach is able to see the energy and also resist it.
Blaze grabs his collar and punches the man a few more times, getting rid of his final layer of protection.
Blood spurts out from Zach’s mouth and onto Blaze’s white Tattered Mask. Fear turns into insects and successfully drills inside his ears.
The man becomes a babbling fool, and fear spreads all over his face.
Zach is now truly defeated. The rest of his armor disappears due to this result.
Blaze shapes his hand into a blade and stabs it right through the Deputy’s heart, finally ending his life.
Even after the combination attack of the Chaos Bomb and purple Thunderbolt, the man is still holding on. The barrier of the armor stays strong to protect his life.
But it is all gone now. And Blaze’s hand pierces through the heart like cutting through paper.
Zach lets out his last breath and dies.
[You have gained 250 experience points!]
[You have gained an additional 500 experience points from killing a hostile unit of the Sun Empire!]
"What is this Sun Empire?"
A word that is completely unfamiliar to Blaze. There is no empire on this planet and definitely no faction with "Sun" in its title.
Blaze takes out the Lantern of the Damned to quickly absorb Zach’s soul. He holds too many secrets that may benefit Blaze.
He can disregard the other souls, but Zach’s soul is critical.
A flying aircraft hovers right above his head. It comes right after the explosion.
Several men in thick, black, high-tech armor with dark visors jump down from the aircraft.
"Stop right there! Release that man!"
A man shouts toward Blaze.
He ignores that voice and pulls Zach’s soul out of his body, stuffing it into the Lantern.
Blaze stands up, facing the new group.
Hutton stands behind him.
A shadow figure with golden eyes that looks extremely eerie. Behind is a man with four wings that looks extremely holy. Two contrasting characters stand together.
"Who are you?"
Blaze says. 𝐟𝚛𝕖𝚎𝕨𝗲𝐛𝚗𝐨𝐯𝐞𝕝.𝐜𝗼𝗺
The armored men stand alongside each other in a straight line.
"We’re the A-Force of Akansa City. Surrender yourself, terrorist!"
Four armored men and a woman in total. The one in the middle is lean and tall. Beside him is a slender woman in the same outfit.
The other three, one with extremely long legs. One that is big and bulky like a bodybuilder. The last has a giant sword on his back.
Each represents a category of warrior, having their own strengths and weaknesses.
Blaze knows about this A-Force. These people are the best of the best of law enforcement in Akansa City.
They are all B-rank, but their task is to neutralize any A-rank threat or higher.
No one has heard that they failed before. A true menace inside Akansa.
The Police may be a mixed batch of Awakened. But you can know for sure that the A-Force are all elites.
The leader of the group steps forward and shows his badge.
"As ordered by the Chief of Police, Adam Gulliver. We are here to stop a terrorist attack.
If you don’t want to be railed in as a cold, hard corpse, surrender now."
Blaze chuckles, giving this statement no mind. He holds the Destruction Wand in his left hand and the Moonlight Karambit in his right hand, ready for battle.
"Come, let us fight!"
Blaze says.
The leader looks behind him at the devastated scene of the Police Headquarters. What’s left of it now is only a third of the building, with its front completely broken down.
"As you wish."
The leader gestures with his hand. The other A-Force members step forward.
They are all doing a pose and introducing themselves.
"Badge number 05. Enforcer of the A-Force Team. Code name: The Brutalist. At your service!"
The bulky man says.
"Badge number 04. Enforcer of the A-Force Team. Code name: The Runner. At your service!"
The man with long legs says.
"Badge number 03. Enforcer of the A-Force Team. Code name: The Swordmaster. At your service!"
The man with the sword takes it down from his back and goes into a stance.
"Badge number 02. Enforcer of the A-Force Team. Code name: The Harpist. At your service!"
A digital hologram of a harp materializes into the woman’s hand.
"Badge number 01. Leader of the A-Force Team. Code name: The Crimson. At your service!"
A red aura burst out from the leader, enveloping him similar to Blaze’s Lightning Ascension.
Blaze flaps his cloak in the wind, answering their introduction.
"An enraged soul of the night, looking for nothing but vengeance. The Wraith."
Hutton also joins the fun, spreading his four wings.
"Eternal servant for my master, a blade to his hand. The Blue Angel, at your service!"
The Swordmaster strikes first. He dashes forward and slices a horizontal line. His sword extends and exudes a black, smoke-like energy.
Blaze activates Lightning Ascension again, reaching his max speed. He gets out of the way of the attack.
Hutton covers himself with the quickening effect of temporal energy. He, too, becomes extremely fast and dodges the strike.
The Harpist glides her finger on the hologram instrument. A pink, semi-transparent wave releases from her fingers. It forms an energy dome inside the inner yard.
Pink energy attaches to the Swordmaster, enhancing all his physical attributes. His attack suddenly gets faster and moves closer to Blaze and Hutton.
A surprise enhancement, but that is not enough to scratch them.
Blaze turns into a lightning bolt and ducks under the sword. He exploits the empty space to get close to the sword master.
Blaze points the Destruction Wand forward, hitting the Swordmaster with the red Thunderbolt.
Mechanical parts appear on the Runner’s feet. His height gets extended even more, and he dashes to the Swordmaster.
The Runner jumps up and does a spin in mid-air, turning himself into a drill. His two feet merge together to become one giant blade.
The blade drills on the red Thunderbolt and completely dissipates it, protecting the Swordmaster.
The Brutalist screams. His body is enlarged to the size of a mini-tank. He dashes forward to ram at Blaze.
Hutton interferes and appears in front of the Brutalist, his hand turns solid and becomes a large steel fist.
The Brutalist punches forward, meeting Hutton’s steel fist. They both get sent backward, dragging their feet on the ground.
The Crimson finally acts. His speed is the most fearsome of all. He disappears and reappears right in front of Blaze’s face.
The guy does a spinning kick, aiming precisely at Blaze’s chest.
The kick connects flawlessly, sending Blaze flying away from his position. His ribcage caves in, stabbing his own flesh.
This is where talent and skill differ. The Crimson’s speed and strength are not comparable to Blaze’s.
But his skill is way better than his. The Crimson knows how to move to achieve a speed even exceeding his own power. He knows how to use his body as a weapon and deliver devastating blows that Blaze cannot imagine.
Blaze’s Lightning Ascension is better than whatever the Crimson has for sure.
But Crimson closes this gap easily with his masterful skill and experience. One that Blaze does not have yet.
The Runner disregards Blaze and dashes behind Hutton. He jumps off the ground to do a spinning kick with his two legs.
The Runner becomes a small tornado screaming at Hutton.
The four-winged Awakened gets out of the way, but he is met with the Crimson again.
The Crimson gets in the middle of Hutton’s escape rope and does a roundhouse kick to his face.
Hutton arches his upper body backward to dodge it.
The Crimson connects his first kick by a spin with the second kick, swiping Hutton two legs down below.
Hutton loses his balance and falls down. While Hutton is still in midair, the Crimson clenches his fist and delivers a devastating punch to Hutton’s face.
The winged Awakened flies off, rolling a dozen times on the ground.
Two A-Rank Awakened get completely swept the floor by a group of B-Rank Enforcers.
