I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 158: Divine Thunder Ascension

Blaze and Lucia look down at the destructive scenery that was once the giant wooden floorboards. A giant crevice spread from side to side, leading to a bottomless hole of the unknown.

Blaze presses the release on the Grappling Hook, the arrow at the tip of the rope loses its grasp on the ceiling. Both Blaze and Lucia fall down freely in the air.

"Ahhhhhhhhhhhh! Why did you do that?!" Lucia screams.

"Don’t worry. Everything is under control."

Blaze smirks. He seems to relish moments like this. Moment where he makes Lucia, or Alyson, lose her composure. He reaches out his hand and shoots out the Grappling Hook to a nearby giant table. The two of them are pulled onto it. The gravity that is pulling them down disappears instantly.

"How... What is this power? Gravity Manipulation?" Lucia mumbles.

Blaze shrugs, having no intention of answering at all.

The Wolf roars loudly, releasing a shockwave that pushes all the gigantic pieces of furniture back, including the table that the pair is standing on.

The table slides backward. Blaze thrusts the Twinblade onto the ground, anchoring himself to fight back the huge force of the wind. Lucia is right behind him. She wraps her arm around his waist and holds on tight.

The shockwave stops soon. The Wolf lunges forward with its mouth opened wide. It wants to swallow the two whole in one bite.

Blaze uses the Grappling Hook to get away again, holding Lucia by his side. They relocate into the ground, near a tall giant cabinet.

"Hide under the furniture. I will distract it. You provide fire cover when it’s safe. Do not reveal your position. I won’t be able to come for you in time." Blaze says.

"Don’t worry. These two guns have your back." Lucia draws out her flintlock pistol also. She holds Irony in her right hand and the pistol in her left hand.

Blaze nods, then flies away using the Grappling Hook. Lucia retreats under the shadow of the furniture.

"Come to me, you stupid beast!" Blaze shouts, trying to divert its attention.

The Wolf growls at him. From its mouth, bolts of lightning leak out. A giant ball of red lightning forms inside its mouth.

"Oh? Lightning power? Maybe there is a way to end this fight quickly..." Blaze mumbles to himself.

The Wolf opens its mouth wide, unnaturally wide. Its mouth splits open like a convertible bridge. The large ball of lightning shoots out. It screams on its path and burns everything it goes through.

Blaze jumps to the side. But he times it so that he barely dodges the lightning ball. He reaches out his hand to touch one of the lightning bolts, letting it enter his bloodstream.

Blaze takes a deep breath in and holds it inside.

A smirk appears on Blaze’s mouth. The Wolf jumps forward to bite at him, but Blaze turns into a red blur, disappearing from its view. A long line of lightning is drawn from his position to a location far, far away.

He has moved a significant distance in the blink of an eye. The insane speed that he had used to wreak havoc at the police department has returned. But only for a short amount of time.

Blaze sighs briefly. Because of the conflict between the Shadow Tattered Cloak and the Thunder Ascended God, he cannot use them together. Thunder Ascended God also suffers a large penalty inside the Dream Layer, basically becoming useless.

Lightning Ascension is also the same, and it even lost its electricity-generating power. However, just a brief moment ago, Blaze was able to summon its full power again by using a foreign source of electricity.

Even Lucia is surprised at Blaze’s new speed. "If he is that fast, why didn’t you just be like that... No. It is probably because of the restriction of this world."

The Wolf changes its attack. Instead of a lightning bolt, now dark red lava appears in its mouth.

Blaze cannot absorb lava, so he can’t do anything else except use the Grappling Hook and dodge the huge wave of scorching hot lava.

"Come on! Use that lightning attack of yours!" Blaze yells, hoping the beast will act accordingly.

It doesn’t. The Wolf curls up into a ball. Its red fur stands up like a porcupine’s spikes. It turns into a spike ball and rushes at Blaze with high velocity.

The beast can’t fly. Blaze simply used the Grappling Hook to reach the high ceiling and stayed right there, letting the Wolf crush those pieces of furniture below. Lucia already relocates to a position nearer to the wall, avoiding the Wolf’s tantrum.

"Come on, you stupid beast! I’m up here! Use the only effective attack!"

It is as if the Wolf understands him. It stops in its place and looks up. The lava stream does not have enough force to reach the height Blaze is. The only attack that can damage him is the red lightning bolt.

"Surely you aren’t that stupid..." Blaze mumbles.

"What is he trying to do?" Lucia watches everything with great worry. Blaze is just hanging there, leaving him open for the Wolf to use one of its ranged attacks. But she knows he must have done it for a reason, so she stays put.

The Wolf finally opens its mouth wide. Red electricity materializes in the surrounding air and gets absorbed into a large lightning ball inside the mouth of the beast.

The air surrounding the lightning ball is distorted by the pure energy and heat it produces.

And then, the Wolf releases the giant ball of lightning. At the same time, Blaze also releases his Grappling Hook.

However, he does not move away from the ball. Instead, he dives headfirst into the destructive collection of electricity.

Lucia clenches her fists. She knows she must have some plan, but it doesn’t prevent her from worrying.

Blaze enters the ball of lightning. It stops in mid-air and starts to flicker uncontrollably.

Blaze’s voice echoes throughout the space of the slaughterhouse. The red lightning ball explodes into a large shockwave. The Wolf is sent flying away, slamming its body onto the wooden wall.

Blaze is hovering in the air. The Shadow Tattered Cloak has disappeared.

A dense red aura covers his body. His hair turns bright red, the color of the lightning bolt.

Blaze opens his mouth and breathes out a thick piece of lightning bolt. This bolt touches his hand and immediately solidifies into a red lightning spear.

Blaze throws the spear at the Wolf. It uses all of its might to dodge but still gets swept away by the power of the lightning. The shockwave sends it flying through the walls of the slaughterhouse, making several wolf-shaped holes.

The lightning spear explodes at the corner of the house, digging out a gigantic hole that leads to the outside world.

The Wolf whimpers. It tries to stand up. Blood drips on its nose, falling drop by drop on the ground. Its legs are shaking and its eyes are full of horror.

The tiny, pathetic human that barely survives its attack has suddenly become something more. Something that is too strong, too mystical for it to comprehend. Something like a god.

"I haven’t tried this power since the day I got it. You are my lab rat."

Blaze says. His body disappears. He leaves no trace of a lightning bolt behind, only to reappear again in front of the wolf.

The Blue Bolt appears. When Blaze catches it, it turns into a large bow made out of blue mystical bark with a large blue jewel in the middle. It is affected by <Ascended Forge>, the Hidden Power of Thunder Ascended God.

"Behold! The power of a god!"

Blaze pulls the bowstring.

Blue lightning forms first but then gets covered by the red aura. It eats into the power of Lightning Ascension and turns red. All the aura is pulled into a single spot of light in front of the bow.

And then, he releases the string. A bright, blinding red light shoots out.

There is no shockwave. But when everything calms down again. A gigantic hole is now present at the place where the Wolf was. A scorched hole of black and bottomless abyss.
