Chapter 504 - 504 Invincible: Victory of the Viltrumites, Invincible is a Sadistic Mass Murderer, The Girl with the Scars–Atom Eve and One Man's Silent Fury.
Upon crossing into another universe, the first thing Allen could feel was death—lots of death. As he looked around, he saw many corpses of Supermax prison guards. The walls were destroyed, and this underground prison was in a deplorable state.
MJ – Angstrom Levy's powers allow him to open portals between dimensions, but he can't open portals within the same dimension.
Nanao – So if this Angstrom opens a portal, it would appear at the same coordinates in another universe?
MJ – That's right...
Rangiku – Nanao-chan is so smart~
Nanao – Don't call me Nanao-chan, Lieutenant Matsumoto...
...
Allen frowned and rose into the air. After breaking through some walls, he managed to escape the ruins. This world should also be Invincible's world but in another universe. Supermax, being the largest prison for supervillains, being in this state could only mean bad news.
In the original story, Angstrom Levy freed the Mauler twins, taking them to a world where everything was destroyed, and only the desert could be seen in the distance. Angstrom offered them freedom in exchange for their help, but they initially refused. It wasn't until he threatened to leave them stranded in that place (or somewhere worse) that they agreed to listen to him. However, Allen arrived in a universe with a lot of death, but not a desert. There were still remnants of the prison as if it had been destroyed recently. In the distance, he could feel life... though not as much as there should be.
2B – Butterfly effect?
Wednesday – Most likely...
Allen rose higher into the sky to see the nearest city, but he discovered that it was on fire with buildings destroyed everywhere. He teleported to the city, where people were injured and being helped by others.
Allen walked the streets and the same desolation was everywhere. The police and military, who are seen to have tried to defend themselves, were dead, with only corpses and destroyed vehicles.
– "People of Earth, we know you think we are the villains because my father and I conquered your planet..." –
The stunned people looked up. Amid all the destruction, there was a huge screen that had been left intact. On it appeared the face of Invincible, or a variant of him, with only his yellow suit slightly different from the original.
– "But now you will be part of the Viltrumite Empire!~ This means there will be no more famine! No one will die from cancer! No one will invade you!~" –
It was a cynical and repulsive speech that no one would expect to come from Invincible. At first, it sounded serious, but Invincible seemed to be fighting the urge to laugh while continuing his speech.
– "Listen, at first I didn't understand it, but I accepted it, and you will too, and in the end... you'll thank us." –
Allen mocked him, "You don't look good as a villain, you should have stayed as a hero, brat."
Kara – That son of a... how can he be so cynical!
Barbara – Everything is destroyed, how can he say they're not the villains?!
Rick – Haha, well, it's part of the show~
Thor – I feel strange, the kid doesn't bother me, but seeing this kid say these things with the same face as the other Invincible makes me feel disgusted!
Hulk – HULK WANTS TO CRUSH THE FLY-EYED BRAT!
...
After mocking the world, Invincible's tone became serious again.
– "You must remember that the more you resist... the worse it will be for you! We didn't destroy your cities! You did! Your new Viltrumite masters are on their way, and it's time you welcome them... if you still think you can stop us, don't forget... I am Invincible!" –
The broadcast ended but immediately started again as the people who had barely survived tried to escape the rubble...
...
MJ – This world is the one we see at the start of season two... in this place, there's an Angstrom Levy who is with a group called the Resistance, the last ones opposing Invincible and Omni-Man...
Felicia – Both are evil to the core... nobody in the Chat will complain if something happens to them...
Allen could feel that half of his Chat agreed with Felicia's words, and the other half seemed to refrain from sharing their opinion...
"I don't know, we'll see..." Allen shrugged, "First, I need to find the Resistance. The Angstrom Levy from this world will eventually be recruited by the Angstrom Levy with the power to cross dimensions."
Artoria – Are you going to take his power?
This was an important question. The villainous Angstrom Levy is very dangerous, especially with that kind of power. However, at this moment, Angstrom wasn't a villain, nor was he crazy.
"I don't know... but the way he acted, maybe unconsciously he didn't want to meet me because he fears me, and he's right to do so..." Allen chuckled with amusement, "In fact, seeing how he freed Omni-Man just to get me away from Earth so he could make his move, I'm sure he'll do whatever it takes to avoid running into me..."
Makima – Right now, having Darkblood would be very useful.
Albedo – It's unpleasant that a creature with such poor manners serves Allen-sama, but she's useful in this sense.
Esdeath – It's strange, even though Omni-Man killed him, why hasn't he come back?
Allen frowned, "Yeah... Darkblood should have come back right away, where the hell is he?"
Nokotan – Nun, maybe he betrayed you and went to hell to summon you and use you as a sacrifice for Lucifer... or something like that~
"Nokotan, you have quite an imagination, hehe; Darkblood doesn't have that backstory. He disappears from the series once he's sent to hell by Cecil..."
Despite his words, Allen thought that the hell in the Invincible world was a total mystery. They never explained what it was like or why Darkblood was so afraid of returning there.
Allen shook his head, "One problem at a time."
...
The city of Chicago was the key. This city was the center of everything in any Invincible universe. In this case, the city where Allen was seemed the most logical place for something like the Resistance.
"Now, how to find an organization that will do everything possible to hide its location..."
Wednesday – In this decaying world, everyone lost hope... everyone except for the few who joined the last human stronghold. In that sense, Allen, you should look in Chicago for people whose gaze still has fire, and whose actions haven't yet conformed to the rest.
Allen flew over the city doing as Wednesday said. People were scared when they saw him, thinking he was Invincible, Omni-Man, or one of those so-called Viltrumites. So, Allen used an invisibility skill he acquired in the world of "The Boys". In addition, he sent the girls in different directions to do the same.
After ten minutes, Bocchi appeared, her cheeks red and out of breath. She had found someone with a face similar to the Angstrom Levy they knew from the Invincible series.
Allen followed Bocchi while calling the girls to come back.
Rebecca – Tsk, I wanted the reward.
Albedo – Damn! I can't believe I lost to the pink-haired girl!
Makima – Well done, Bocchi...
Bocchi was startled and thought it was better she hadn't won, but Allen calmed her by putting her on his shoulder and petting her head. Bocchi had become a simpler girl (thanks to Nokotan), so she quickly ignored the frustration of the other dolls.
Allen reached the place and landed. Then he squinted as he looked at a hooded man with a bag, he was walking, making sure no one was following him.
"Angstrom Levy..."
Allen followed the man cautiously from a distance; the man was very careful, but Allen wasn't going to be found out easily.
...
The man continued until he reached an abandoned bus. He entered, and an elevator was activated. Once Angstrom disappeared, Allen deactivated his invisibility. But before entering, he created a small Ki sphere and launched it high into the sky to detonate it.
Allen opened the door and found an electronic panel under one of the seats.
"Becca..."
"Hehe," Rebecca appeared by his side and connected to the panel to hack it, "You know, they used to call me just to shoot a shotgun, who would've thought that after dying, I'd end up becoming a NetRunner."
Netrunners are hackers with a cybernetically enhanced brain-computer interface implanted in their bodies. Using their brain-computer interface implants, they wander the Internet looking for systems to hack and information to sell.
Certainly, Rebecca wasn't anything like that, even now, she enjoyed shooting more. But inevitably, the intelligence boost that being a doll gave her made her qualified for highly technical jobs.
"Are you dissatisfied?" Allen asked, gently stroking her head.
Rebecca bit Allen's finger and then licked it, "Not at all, I enjoy being useful to you~"
"You..."
Rebecca laughed, having made a mischief, and disappeared. The elevator doors opened, and Allen stepped inside.
"I see..."
Slowly, it descended into the underground. Soon, a refuge appeared, made up of train carriages and tents. People armed with weapons were in this place. This wasn't a civilian refuge; it was a gathering point for the Resistance.
Maria Hill – For a refuge, this is too close to the surface, I don't like it...
Natasha – It only has two access points and no emergency exits... it's too dangerous.
Batman – Few resources, too easy to find, it's very risky to be in this place...
Superman – If it were me or Kara with our hearing, we'd find it easily...
Raven – Just look at these people for a Resistance against an alien invasion; they seem too fragile. These people barely survived with what they had on them. It's a miracle they made it this far...
Allen stayed silent, observing. The world was called Invincible when the protagonist turned into the villain; how could anyone survive here?
"It was impossible from the start. These people are here waiting for a miracle that will never come... their destiny is tragic," Allen gave a small smile. "Sadly, I don't get along with fate, no matter how ironic it sounds..."
...
Angstrom took off his hood and approached Robot, who was oddly accompanied by Rudolph in his original form. In this world, there was no Mauler to make clones for them, or maybe they didn't have time to do it before Invincible picked his father.
"Angstrom, did they follow you?" Robot asked.
"No, Immortal drove them away..."
The words implied that Immortal would not return. Neither Rudolph nor Robot asked any more questions about that.
"That's what Rex thought, and we all know how that ended..."
Leaning against the door of a train carriage, the Eve of this world appeared. She had a shaved head and two scars on her face, but she had managed to survive in a world where all the superheroes, and even the villains, had been killed by Invincible and Omni-Man.
Eve approached while Angstrom knelt to make something out of his backpack.
"Did you get the Null Energy?" Robot asked.
Angstrom smiled and pulled out a purple cylinder. "If this doesn't make Omni-Man have a bad time, nothing will."
Just as Eve was about to speak, they heard a scream.
"Stop right there! Who are you?!"
Robot turned his hands into cannons. Rudolph grabbed the Null Energy from Angstrom and started integrating it into his exo-suit. Angstrom cursed his luck. Was this the end? Were his efforts in vain? Were they always destined for a miserable death? All because? Because a teenager and his father wanted their planet?
Eve immediately covered her hands with energy, biting her lip. Every time they faced Invincible and Omni-Man, they lost many allies just to survive, and now only they remained.
Remembering the deaths of her friends, Eve's eyes blurred. However, she was surprised because in front of them wasn't the bastard Invincible or the cruel Omni-Man.
"Who are you?!" Eve said, stunned.
The young man smiled kindly and stepped forward. The members of the Resistance, who had pointed their weapons at Allen, couldn't believe they were being ignored. Allen passed by, and people cleared a path for him.
Robot and Rudolph, who usually didn't hesitate to make decisions instantly, stood frozen. It seemed like their processing capacity had stopped.
"Don't come any closer!" Eve threatened, but Allen ignored her and kept moving forward.
"I told you not to come any closer!" Eve, who had hardened her heart after seeing the world be destroyed, started trembling. She had no idea who he was, but the look in his eyes made her feel powerless and unwilling to attack him.
Once he stood in front of her, he stared at her. He extended his hand and touched her cheek, specifically the scars on Eve's face.
"...!" Eve trembled but didn't stop him as if she knew he wouldn't hurt her.
Without saying a word, Allen turned around and walked back the way he came. Once Eve managed to breathe again, she fell to her knees.
"Are you okay, Eve?" Angstrom approached, but he froze when he saw Eve's face. "Eve, your face!"
She wanted to ask what he meant, but no words came out. Angstrom pulled out a small mirror from his backpack and showed it to Eve. Her scars had disappeared...
"...!"
Eve stood up and grabbed the mirror, touching her face. It was true. It wasn't makeup or an illusion. She looked where Allen had gone.
"Who are you?"
...
2B – Master, are you not going to say anything to her?
"No need..."
Ruby – But are you going to cure and leave her?
"I did it for my own desire. I have no right to ask for anything from her..."
Angelica (Gil) – Then what's the purpose of all this?
"I wanted to find the Resistance to see if they could convince me to help them while I waited for that Angstrom to appear..."
Unohana – I see~ My dear husband was just looking for an excuse to deal with Invincible and Omni-Man, Ara Ara~ how adorable~
This 𝓬ontent is taken from freeweɓnovel.cѳm.
"Yachiru, I'll have to correct that tendency of yours to mock your husband."
Unohana – Oh, that can be fixed, my lord~
Allen shook his head and entered the elevator.
Artoria – I see that motivation is no longer necessary...
"..." Allen didn't respond immediately, but a mischievous smile appeared on his face. "She's not my Eve. There could be a thousand, a hundred thousand, there could be infinite Eves, but there's only one that's my Eve, and she's the only one that matters to me... but even so..."
Gwen – Sighing with a smile "Knowing she's not the Eve you know, you thought about giving her a hand..."
"Yeah..."
MJ – *Laughing* Oh~ as soon as you saw her, everything changed, didn't it?
"I no longer needed to be convinced..."
Felicia – *Lazily smiling* Honey, are you angry?"
"Who knows..." Allen answered lightly and carelessly to that last question, but the air around him was as heavy and dense as lead. The atmosphere around him was chilling.
...
Omni-Man and Invincible were in space. They had come immediately after seeing the energy explosion.
"What happened, Dad?"
"I don't know... maybe a failed weapon... Cecil was a bastard, even when I ripped out his heart, he kept causing problems..."
"Haha, what did you expect from the director of the GDA? The bastard must have left you a trick or two~" Invincible looked down. "Let's put that aside. It took us a while to find where the Resistance was, it's time to finish this..."
Nolan looked into the depths of space, "That's right, son, soon the first Viltrumites will arrive. Our empire will return to the glory it almost lost because of that virus..."
Invincible crossed his arms, "Dad, is that virus really that dangerous?"
"Yes, once you see how Viltrumite corpses are scattered like a ring in space, you'll understand the tragedy we suffered... only fifty of what was once the Viltrum Empire remain."
"I would've loved to see our world in its glory..."
Omni-Man smiled fondly and patted Invincible on the shoulder. "But son, be proud. You are the beginning of something much bigger. We will rebuild the empire. It will be greater... these humans will be perfect for our reproduction... son, I'm proud of you."
"Thanks, Dad." Invincible blushed but smiled. "If you'd told me that earlier, I wouldn't have eliminated so many."
"Haha, don't worry, with just fifty Viltrumites, it's still enough... maybe too many humans..." Nolan's gaze turned cold. Invincible smiled, knowing what they would do once they finished with the Resistance.
*Auge*
At that moment, both saw a bright point of light coming from Earth.
"Is there still electricity?!"
"No, we destroyed all the power plants... that place is Chicago!"
...
Allen emerged to the surface and began walking through the ruined streets. His appearance was striking, and how could it not be?
Setting aside his physical traits and face, seeing someone well-dressed amidst such destruction and without a speck of dust or ash on his clothes was very strange.
To begin with, the annoying screen with Invincible's face started to glitch. Soon the image flickered before melting away. He had to draw attention, make himself visible anywhere in the world, he had to attract them, he had to call them here.
The ground beneath Allen cracked as his eyes narrowed looking up at the night sky, "Rejoice... there are really very few people who can make me angry at this point in my life... so rejoice and don't worry. I promise it will be painful, and you won't enjoy it...so don't worry... you can come, Viltrumites, just one human is waiting for you..."
This was a trap... those who fall into it should abandon all hope...
