I Was Transmigrated As An Extraordinary Extra-Chapter 74
Chapter 74: Chapter 74
’So it’s survival of the fittest then?’
What kind of Academy is this? Students can get killed and the Academy doesn’t care? Who made this freaking Academy?
’Oh, wait.... It was me but I didn’t know that they have an exam like this! I simply wrote that all the main characters successfully passed the exam.’
I looked at the other students mournfully, ’I’m sorry for the extras here that have to die.’
"Nice to meet you all. I am Archmage Gusion Eresby."
Mages here have different ranking system that sets them aside from heroes.

I looked at the man dressed in blue robe in front of me. My ears started to hurt since I’ve already heard the same thing Sir Jude repeatedly said to us. I looked around and it seems that I wasn’t the only one who got their ears hurting.
Once he was done explaining, we all nodded at the archmage’s kind explanation.
"Are there no questions?" He looked around the silent crowd for a few times before he smiled brightly at us, "Good. Then we will tell you how the exam will proceed."
’I don’t like how a smile suddenly appeared on his face.’
"Five students will go in at a time, and each student will only be given 20 minutes. No more, no less. You will not be graded based on whether you win or not and your role as a fighter will be taken into consideration."
Gusion stuck up his index finger.
"Your exam-"
Beep! Beep!
Suddenly one of the student’s smartwatch loud tone cut him off mid-sentence.
The archmage looked around the room.
"Students, I kindly suggest that you turn off your smartwatches."
His tone suddenly turned cold.
One by one, we all turned off our smartwatch.
"Where was I? Oh, right, your exams will be graded on how long you last and how well you respond when you’re in a situation like this. Don’t worry since it’s not required to kill the monster but there will be bonus points if ever you happen to kill one... depending on the monster’s class and grade that is."
My eyes were slowly closing as I tried my best to listen to him.
"The monster you will be fighting are randomized every time a group will enter. I can only assume that you know every single one of them and their weak spots."
Archmage Gusion’s explanation dragged on for a long time, always repeating it so that all of us would understand what he’s saying. Even I can’t believe that I slept while standing.
’This must be the reason why we are all called here so early.’
"Now that we’re done classifying the groups, Members of Group 1 kindly stand up and follow one of our staff member."
I stretched my aching legs, ’Finally, it’s time.’
The members of group 1 are Junichi Yuno, Eleanor Whitfield, Henry Harrington, Margaret Caldwell, and Jameson Sinclair. Junichi was the only one I knew from the group.
"Students, can you please step aside?"
The remaining students of my class wondered why and soon enough, their eyes were filled with amazement as stone tables and chairs suddenly appeared from the ground.
"You may now take your seat. Not only will you be watching in a holographic screen but you’ll also write a report paper analyzing each group’s capability and every individual in that certain group, if the method they used in defeating the monster was effective or not, you can also write alternate methods that they should have used."
All of them groaned as they thought about writing again.
"I might get sick just by seeing a pen and paper."
"Ugh! Our written exam is finished last week! Why do we have to write again?"
"No more!"
Archmage Gusion heard all their complaints but instead of silencing them, he just smiled as if he’s happy that we’re suffering from this.
"You won’t have to write a report in every group considering how many you are. You’ll just write at least three groups that caught your eyes. You also have the right whether you write your name in the paper or not."
The students smiled while giving others meaningful glances.
"Don’t forget, staying anonymous also has a side effect. You can write malicious and degrading words however this will be reflected in your report card not only that, but we will also deduct a huge amount of points on your exam. We promote healthy competition so I suggest that you write positive and honest comments regarding your peers."
Archmage Gusion checked the first group, "Now that we’re all settled, Group 1 examinees will now begin."
There are four mages guarding a blue portal, the portal will immediately transport you inside the forest. The members of group 1 finally entered the portal as each of our holographic screen lit up and revealed all the members.
I clicked each of the boxes, they were in a very dense part of the forest and were single-handedly fighting the same monster, a standard grade 2 Grumblebark.
’It seems that they got separated from each other when they entered the portal.’
After analyzing each one of them, I finally switched back to Junichi’s camera again.

Grumblebark
Difficulty: Standard Grade 2
Form: It is a moderately sized creature standing about 6 feet tall. It resembles a cross between a large, moss-covered tree stump and a bear. Its body is rugged and bark-like, with patches of dark, earthy brown and green. The Grumblebark has two large, gnarled arms and short, sturdy legs. Its face is a twisted mask of wood with glowing amber eyes that pierce through the shadows. It has a mane of thick, twisted vines around its neck that rattle when it moves, producing a low, grumbling sound.
Attack Method: Uses its powerful limbs, vine and root manipulation, poisonous sap, and paralysis roar.
Weak Spot: The Grumblebark’s primary weak spot is located at the base of its neck, where the bark is thinnest and most vulnerable. This area pulsates with a faint green glow, hinting at the creature’s life force. Additionally, the joints where its limbs connect to the torso are less protected, making them susceptible to precise attacks.
Additional Notes: Its bark-like appearance allows it to blend into the forest environment, making it difficult to spot until it’s too late.

Clang!
With lightning speed, Junichi dashed forward, aiming a swift, upward slash at the Grumblebark’s midsection. His sword sliced through the air, but the Grumblebark blocked the strike with its thick, bark-covered arm.
Then the Grumblebark swung its massive limb downwards, attempting to crush Junichi. He rolled to the side just in time, the ground shaking from the impact.
As the 20-minute mark approached, he only defended himself although at the last minute, he got the chance to approach and aim for the pulsating, green-glowing weak spot at the base of the Grumblebark’s neck. He delivered a powerful thrust, but the Grumblebark twisted at the last second, causing the blade to graze the area instead of hitting it directly.
Junichi was breathing heavily, his body showing signs of fatigue, he can’t continue to fight it anymore so he thought of surrendering. Just in time, he heard a soft ringing in his ears and the next moment, he was transported back to the arena again.
"That concludes the exam of group 1. Next group, please."
