I'm Trying To Go Broke, So Why Do I Keep Getting Richer?!-Chapter 236: Second Sun
The Goblin King was prepared to retreat at a moment’s notice. Unfortunately, the only problem was that he couldn’t move while the simulation was ongoing in his mind.
He could only order his women to push him off the cliff and take him back in case there was any danger.
In his mind, a simulation had already started taking place. The speed of the simulation was also faster than that of a supercomputer’s calculation.
The Goblin King watched his arrival. With his strength, there was no force in this world that was able to stop him.
Within the first month itself, he had taken over the entire world. All the survivors that were in hiding, were discovered and enslaved.
Through the new slaves, the Goblin learned the knowledge of this world. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much to find out.
This world was just a low tier planet with no interaction or even knowledge of a higher civilization beyond.
Even the existence of life beyond this planet was only an assumption of the people. Many even called them conspiracies.
With no information to prove otherwise, the Goblin King could only stop at that. Still, he didn’t give up hope.
This world was similar to his world, but was a little backwards in comparison. Deep down, he still believed that there were planets beyond this place. The only problem was that he couldn’t explore those places yet.
Even with a Dragon, he couldn’t just fly into space with no destination.
The simulation continued and the Goblin King brought his entire army to this world. A new empire was established in this place, carrying the same hierarchy as the place he came from.
A few years passed, and the planet had recovered even more of its essence as the effects of the apocalypse appeared to be disappearing, no thanks to the Goblin King.
In his previous world, the Goblin King was limited by the resources and the common knowledge of that world. But now, he at least had a starting point with not only materials that were necessary, but also the base knowledge of various fields.
Even if the world had almost died, quite a few books and the remnant of the past tech had survived.
A decade passed, and the Goblin King’s empire grew even more powerful. The essence of this world recovered even more, and it even showed signs of breaking through to a middle tier planet.
Many people in the Goblin Empire started awakening their own abilities, beyond what their species granted them. It was the same process that earth went through before heroes started appearing.
After nearly a century, the Goblin King hadn’t stopped trying to develop advanced tech like space ships to explore places beyond, but it was still proving to be hard.
At best, they had only managed to reach the point where air travel to various continents of the planet became viable.
The world had reached a point where it couldn’t be compared to its previous state when it was covered in snow.
At this point, it looked no different than a decent metropolis all over the place.
Three hundred years later, the world finally advanced to a middle tier planet. Even the technology had improved to the point that the Goblin Empire had successfully moved to the prototype of an actual space ship that could travel across space.
Unfortunately, the prototype crashed during the test flight, making the goblin king curse out loud, but the improvements continued.
A few more decades later, the dream of the Goblin King became reality, and he was on the verge of stepping into the vast universe.
Just then, to his surprise, something shocking happened. A civilization from beyond arrived, calling themselves as the member of the Galactic Union.
As a newly promoted middle tier planet, they were finally contacted and invited to join.
From that moment onwards, it was as if the Goblin Empire had received wings.
In a few more centuries, they had managed to establish connections with various planets.
A thousand years later, the Goblin Empire became so strong that it became an Overlord of the entire space sector.
A few more centuries later, the Goblin Empire went to war with the other planets. Like a virus, they had started spreading to other places, slowly dominating the entire external universe.
They even started showing signs of becoming an upper tier planet. Unfortunately, just then, something happened that crushed that momentum.
The Goblin King was killed, and he didn’t even know what killed him.
The simulation came to an end, and Goblin King opened his eyes in disbelief.
"What happened? How did I die?" The Goblin opened his eyes, his face covered in sweat.
It took him a moment to calm down.
After he called down, he took a deep breath, sighing. Although he didn’t know how he died, it happened centuries later.
It showed him that his path of growth was more or less correct. Moreover, with the knowledge of the simulation, he could make even less mistakes now than he did in the simulation.
It was as if he was in his second life now, knowing the entire future. He even remembered a few critical pieces of information that would increase the growth of this planet and his empire.
"I have verified it. There is no danger in this world. There is not a single thing in this world that can harm us. You can relax!"
The Goblin King also relaxed. He loved his arms around the waist of a few beauties, and walked away from the cliff. Even the women that were observing the surroundings, relaxed, and stopped paying attention to the surroundings.
"Didn’t I tell you? There is no danger in this place. If anything, it’s quite boring." The Dragon Queen exclaimed, her expressions soothing.
"I know, I know." The goblin placed his hand on the Dragon Queen’s head, patting her lightly. "I just had to make sure. After all, it’s for your safety so I can’t take any risk."
"You don’t have to be on guard anymore. In this world... I will live without worries for a long time to come... In this land of ants, I will be a godlike existence. So let’s go and have them witness this god."
Just as the Goblin King was flexing, he suddenly stopped.
"Is it just you, or it suddenly became brighter and warmer?"
He didn’t know why, but suddenly, he felt quite warm.
Still confused, he raised his head.
"Hmm? Was that second son always there?" He looked at the sun in the sky.
When he first arrived, he had looked at the sky. At that time, there was only a sun that was visible through the clouds. But now, there was a second sun that had appeared right above him.
Within seconds, the light intensified until the shadows beneath the Goblin King’s feet disappeared. The sun was expanding, its edges shining with a violent, electric blue light.
The Goblin King squinted, his eyes stinging. The realization didn’t come as a shock. It came as a cold, paralyzing fear in his gut. This wasn’t a natural phenomenon. This was an interception.
"The portal!" he screamed, his voice cracking as the temperature spiked. "Run!"
He spun around, his boots skidding on the frost-covered stone. In his arrogance, he had walked nearly sixty yards away from the edge of the cliff to survey his new kingdom.
Sixty yards, a distance he could usually cover in a heartbeat, now felt like sixty miles.
"My King, wait!" the Elf cried out, her skin already beginning to redden, but he didn’t look back. 𝘧𝑟𝑒𝑒𝘸𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝓁.𝘤𝘰𝓂
He sprinted, his muscles screaming, his vision blurring as the world turned white. He could see the bright blue light of the portal, a doorway to the safety of the dungeon, hanging there like a cruel joke. He reached out a hand, his fingers mere yards from the edge of the cliff, but the sun had finally arrived.
There was no sound at the moment of impact, only a pressure so immense that the sound itself was crushed.
The plasma beam struck the center of the cliff like a falling moon. It was as if the entire world had suddenly turned white. The surroundings underwent a transition in a microsecond.
The Goblin King, his harem, and the very ground they stood upon were caught in the catastrophe.
The cliffside, which had stood for eons overlooking the frozen wastes, simply ceased to exist.
From his chair on the warship, Leo watched the feed. The screen was filled with pure white, the sensors struggling to recalibrate the contrast.
As the dust began to clear, the devastation was absolute. Where a massive cliff had once been, there was now a glowing semi-circle carved into the mountainside. Thousands of tons of earth had been vaporized.
It was as if someone had dropped a nuclear bomb on earth. The only difference was that the attack power was much higher while the permanent damage to the environment in the form of radiation was non-existent.
