’Same copies? This thing is much weaker than a Terror.’
A minor Terror had three skills but a Minor Undead had one. Carter got the same copies for the first time, making him think that maybe Undead didn’t have that many variations like the Terrors.
’This can be a good thing... Less variations lead to more fusions and a bigger chance to acquire high level Skins’
Carter fired up the Skin Fusion. The colorful vortex appeared once more.
He had no intention of trying on the Sprinting Undead. They were already too weak for his taste and he wasn’t going to risk the woman on the other side finding out he could transform.
He had only two Minor Undead. But he still had Dracula.
Dracula could still be used as a filler mater as usual. 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
[WARNING]
[Fusing high level skins with low level skins will result in level decrease]
[Abilities and Skills might disappear because of this process]
’Welp. That’s a no no for Dracula.’
Carter had wasted a lot of skins and effort to create an Awaken being capable of standing against an Elite. He was not going to ruin that.
’I do, however, have ordinary human skins.’
Carter still had one Minor Awaken Human Skin after the previous fusion. It was just a throwaway skin that he didn’t bring much thought to in creating it.
It was a skinny man with Athleticism, Perception, and Physical Fortitude skill.
There was nothing extraordinary about it.
Carter was curious what he would get from fusion humans and undead.
’It doesn’t hurt to try.’
Carter dropped the two Sprinting Undead and the Awaken Human Skin into the vortex.
[x2 Sprinting Undead are lost]
[x1 Minor Awaken Human is lost]
The three cards fused together. The corpse melted to the face of the man, resulting in all of their flesh disappearing.
[Corrupted Skeleton Acquired]
’Skeleton?!’
Carter opened its details immediately.

’For some reason, humans combined with undead resulted in a skeleton. It is better than a pure Undead for sure. But not that much better.’
The woman pushed the door open.
Carter was cooking some soup on the stove. He continued stirring like he didn’t do anything suspicious.
"Dr. Hugo. Thank you for saving me last night."
"You already thanked me." Carter tasted the spoon and nodded accordingly.
"I know. I just want to make sure you know I’m grateful."
"I know."
Carter scooped some soup onto a wooden bowl and placed it on the table.
"Sit down. Try some. You need it." Then he continued to scoop another bowl for himself.
There was quite a lot of food left inside the Infirmary. Most of them were rotten and couldn’t be eaten. Carter salvaged what he could.
The woman sat at the table and began eating like a hungry dog.
"Slowly. Don’t choke yourself." Carter smiled and sat down with her.
"What are you doing in the quarantined zone?" Carter said.
The woman froze mid-scoop and looked at him. Her guard was put up immediately.
Carter pretended to not notice that.
"Why do you ask?" The woman said.
"Why... A young girl like you in a place like this. It is not safe, you know. Especially since you were already bitten by some kind of snake last night."
"Snake? Right. It was a very big snake. Haha." The woman laughed wryly. "What about you, Dr. Hugo? Why are you in the quarantined zone?"
Carter paused his eating and sighed.
"You may think I am naive. But I want to find a cure for whatever... this pandemic is."
The woman looked out the window, toward the grey sky.
"Many doctors and healers have tried to find a way to combat Black Blood. None succeeded."
The woman seemed to trust the Apothecary more after that confession.
"I’m Prim. Primrose Quinton. I was just trying to retrieve something last night."
"That’s a nice name. Did you find it?"
Prim stood up immediately, "The vial!"
She ran downstairs and came to the hidden compartment. It was gone.
"That man! Argh! That pervert!"
Carter followed after her. "Who are you referring to?"
"Some fancy aristocrat. He said his name was Vladimir or something."
"Vladimir? That isn’t a name you find around her."
"He said he was a prince of Transylvania or something. A count to be exact."
Carter’s face froze immediately. His face was flooded by fear.
"Count... Dracula?"
"You know him?"
Carter nodded grimly. He stared straight at Prim’s soul.
"Miss Quinton. I don’t know what your business with him is, but I don’t want to interfere with the two of you. I’ll take my leave."
Carter turned around but Primrose caught his hand.
"Who is he? He got something very valuable to me. I need to find it."
Carter took a deep breath and pushed her hand away.
"Not he. It. It is a monster that can kill a hundred men with its bare hands. Whatever it took, I suggest you forget about it. Unless you want to die."
After planting a mystery inside Primrose’s heart, Carter took his Brewer’s Chest and Medical Bag and got out of there.
He had to act like he was truly afraid of Dracula.
’The legend of Dracula has begun! Soon I will make him into the most fearsome undead in this world!’
Carter found his way out of the quarantined zone and to the Orkshire Marketplace. He still needed to find some ingredients for Florence Fontaine.
