"Fine, then I’m taking my wife home to go fuck her. You can continue your loser party and imagine me take her virginity while you drown yourselves in your misery." Li Ling said casually, taking a step and appearing beside Bai Ruyi, who immediately clung to him lovingly.

His words struck the hearts of the listeners like a hammer to a bell, causing their bodies to tremble with fury and hatred. Even for the fellows on the side, they hoped to be able to miraculously win Bai Ruyi’s favor after she was ’liberated’ from your side, much less Deng Long who had all but planned the exact date to use Bai Ruyi as a reverse furnace.

Seeing the duo walk away without giving them another look, how could they agree?

"Stop right there Li Ling!!" Deng Long roared with fury, unleashing a wave of his Blood Spirit intimidation down towards Li Ling.

Even though he would be penalized for it, now was not the time to be wishy-washy! If he truly let this fellow go and pop the cherry, then what would he have left to show for his efforts over this period of time? One should know that Bai Ruyi getting to Core Formation so smoothly in just under a month was largely due to his investment!

You didn’t actually expect him to sit there and just accept being played like this, did you? Even if the Hall Master himself came, Deng Long was determined to make sure that he reaped his just rewards!

However, what left him shocked was that the intimidation from his Blood Spirit simply passed over Li Ling like it was air, not even slowing down the young man’s steps. This fact literally made Deng Long freeze up, for the implication was one of three things.

Either Li Ling was at the Fourth Realm himself, or he had a very powerful soul and spirit... or he had a protective artifact above the fourth realm!

Neither of these things was good for Deng Long, because the former meant that he couldn’t really get an upper hand over Li Ling force-wise, the second meant that Li Ling was a monstrous genius who would bloom in the middle layer and skyrocket to the top, not someone a low-talent trash like him could match up to.

As for the last one, it was the worst. It meant that Li Ling had someone backing him in the middle layer that was ranked higher than himself, something which Deng Long found confusing because he had thoroughly researched Li Ling before starting all this.

Finding out Li Ling somehow had a grudge with his own Hall Master made Deng Long laugh out loud as if the heavens were helping him, even daring to set up this banquet in the main courtyard of the sect, none daring to stop him.

But what now? He was just going to watch as the two walked away in a lover’s embrace, picturing what was going to happen next while being stuck outside the door?

Just the thought made Deng Long feel sick and he couldn’t hold back any longer. He decided that even if the sect penalized him, he would kill or maim Li Ling and rape Bai Ruyi today.

After the deed was done, they could do whatever they wanted to him, he didn’t care. He didn’t care about Bai Ruyi’s looks or her charm; what he cared about was the fact that she was the only Saintess-tier demonic sect disciple who had come into his path without the protection of her sect or her elders, like a free piece of meat.

"I SAID STOP!" Deng Long roared with bloodshot eyes and attacked at full power with his Blood Spirit coiling around him, aiming to destroy Li Ling in one blow and kidnap Bai Ruyi at the fastest speed.

Feeling his aura becoming offensive, those other fellows who came to watch were dumbfounded, never expecting that indeed, the fellow dared to actually attack like this! They just had a sexual and covetous interest towards Bai Ruyi, but it was not to the point of going this far, because the sect’s retribution would be twice as painful as whatever Deng Long did!

Li Ling remained calm because he seemed to have expected this while Bai Ruyi was unbothered, rather watching Li Ling sharply to see how he would handle this. She still remembered his promise to return at the Perfection of Core Formation to waylay her, and she kept it to heart.

Deng Long’s attack bore down on the duo, and the way they were nonchalant almost seemed like the intimidation effect had worked, and they were unable to move, though the majority of the attack’s focus bore down on Li Ling.

Li Ling simply turned partially and regarded the oncoming attack with a hint of malicious amusement, shaking his head. "How foolish, but I should be grateful because I get to test this on you."

He pointed a finger and a blood-red token manifested that gave off a solemn and inviolable aura that even made the Blood Spirit that Deng Long manifested feel like a mere mouse before a tiger. Before he could say anything, Li Ling grinned widely as a thin beam of brownish light emerged from his fingertip, connecting with Deng Long’s chest area.

There seemed to be a split-second pause as time came to a halt, where Deng Long’s chest area actually exploded backwards, causing almost everything within his torso to come spraying out from behind him, coating the entire banquet scene with blood and innards.

However, none of the people here had the time to wipe their faces to retch in disgust, because their eyes were locked onto the token that hovered near Li Ling, which the young man collected back nonchalantly.

"I am not someone you can mess with, and this is a small taste of my backing in the sect. Scram and find easier prey to exploit, or don’t blame me for being rude." Li Ling threw down some cliché villain lines and left with a shocked Bai Ruyi, who couldn’t parse what she had just seen and felt a moment ago.

Deng Long was miraculously not dead, coughing blood weakly as Li Ling casually threw a bottle of healing pills at him even as the smug young man walked away, giving him a casual thumbs up.

Deng Long roared in fury and unwillingness, but he could only take the life-saving grace from his ’savior’ and begin plotting his revenge!

But he was just an anecdote in Li Ling’s long life, just an event that the Will of Heaven arranged in his path as an obstacle but failed to make any lasting changes to his life or his destiny. As such, when Li Ling arrived at his humble courtyard in the Path Walker Section, he couldn’t help but feel emotional.

His status had changed so fast that his living quarters hadn’t gone up with him, as he would need a new and more developed villa after becoming a Path Ascender officially. As for Bai Ruyi, she remained silent in partial shock and fear, having felt everything due to being so close to Li Ling.

From the perspective of onlookers, Li Ling had brought out a token with a very high-level aura and unleashed an attack powered by the token which knocked down Deng Long, showing that he had a huge backing, but Bai Ruyi knew it was a lie!

Rather, that token was taken out as a smokescreen as that beam of brown light was from Li Ling himself, but being close to it gave Bai Ruyi such a terrifying feeling of weakness and suppression that she almost hadn’t even been able to move afterward.

That crazy power came from Li Ling himself, not any external means!

That was what left the ’well-read’ Saintess full of disbelief, because she suspected that such power was bordering on the esoteric rules, but she didn’t for a second want to believe that Li Ling had learned a Rule at the third realm. Such an existence was no longer comparable to others among his same age group for he had surpassed them by miles.

As for Li Ling himself, after kicking the door open, he breathed in the fresh scent of home and began walking to the cultivation chamber, ignoring Bai Ruyi for now. Looking back at the banquet area, most of the tagalongs had abandoned the area, either at the moment the fight began or when it turned intense.

Bai Ruyi tried to tell him something but he waved it off. Li Ling was fully committed to upgrading his power, wanting to maintain his promise to Bai Ruyi to only move on with the next stage of his plans after he reached the Perfection of Core Formation!

Luckily, he had enough Slaughter Points for just that, so when he sat in the meditation pose and opened the system, he began immediately adding points!
