The people and the doctor shivered as they were surrounded by ice, and sharp blades threatened to behead them at a moment’s notice.

The generals and others attempted to use their abilities, but the blades moved half an inch closer to their skin, making them freeze.

Half an inch may mean nothing to some but targeted well, it could also hit an important vein and could kill people.

"You can’t do this!" the doctor yelled, looking at Khalifa. "Don’t do it!"

The doctor flinched as she met Khalifa’s eyes, making some of the sharp spikes embed on her a bit. She screamed in terror.

"Murder!" she yelled, almost like a shrew. "You can’t kill people like this!"

"Who says I will kill you?" She asked, but her ice spikes didn’t move an inch.

She then turned and looked at Ryo and the General. "Leaving them here is dangerous. They could start coups."

This made the two flinch, feeling complicated. However, they also understood her worries—too well, actually.

"I…" General Lee voiced out, "I’m not certain killing them is the answer."

"Hmn, but you saw how arrogant they were," she asked with furrowed eyebrows, shifting to look at Ryo, who flinched a bit.

"The General is a bit old and feeling soft-hearted. What do you think, Ryo?"

Ryo blinked and the rest silently waited for his answer. They felt that whatever Ryo’s answer was would determine their fates.

They weren’t wrong.

In fact, Khalifa also felt it a waste to kill humans, especially strong ones. Each person to kill a zombie was welcome, after all.

The doctor was also very good. Despite her actions and attitude, she was a skilled doctor and ultimately just wanted a cure (and the glory that came with it).

She just thought these people should have a sense of gratitude towards General Lee and Ryo, should they decide to spare them.

Of course, if Ryo decided they should go, then Khalifa would assist him.

After a few moments of tension, Ryo finally spoke out. "We can work with them," he said. "Please let them go."

Khalifa smiled internally and walked over the people shivering, afraid of what psychopathic thing she decided to do next.

Instead, a jelly-like light surrounded them, and when it disappeared they felt a little heavier, but they couldn’t explain it.

"What did you do?!"

Khalifa just smiled mysteriously and didn’t answer, walking over Ryo and the General.

"Ryo…" She whispered. "If they misbehave, just zap them a bit and they’ll die."

She looked at General Lee. "If you have tasers, then it’d do just fine."

She then turned to her men, who welcomed her with open arms.

"Let’s go back home."

They got up to the helicopter, with Khalifa ignoring those people’s demands to tell them what she did to them.

"What did you do?!"

They realized they still couldn’t move, with spikes threatening to stab if they even flinched!

"Take these down! Oi!!"

"Calm down, they’re going to melt on their own," she told them. "I trust that you will be able to work with Ryo and the General in making this place safe—not add to the danger by creating internal conflict."

"LET US GO ALREADY!" Dino yelled, getting impatient. Obviously this man wasn’t used to not being followed to the tee.

In the end, Khalifa just turned and ignored them, just climbing up the helicopter along with everyone.

Unexpectedly, they saw someone else climb up with them.

"Sigmund?!"

***

They watched as the white-haired scientist settled on a seat as if he was meant to be there.

"What?" Kaize asked, confused and guarded. "What are you doing here?"

Sigmund only stared at him and didn’t answer, making their eyes twitch.

Khalifa sighed. "If it’s about your equipment —"

"It’s not the equipment," he said, finally gracing someone with his answer. His red eyes fixed on Khalifa’s body, its depth reflecting her figure. "I want to study you."

"What?!"

This naturally made her men heckled, some standing up directly, hitting their head on the ceiling.

"YOU—" Kaize exclaimed, blaming the red-eyed scientist for everything.

Khalifa raised her hands to stop a fight. Her men were fully prepared to throw the scientist down at this time.

"It’s fine," she said, "At least we can control him on our turf."

She was also a bit surprised when the findings came out. But it made sense, and it could be that the reason Jacob was like this really had to do with her fluids.

If she could help with this apocalypse, of course she would do it—but it had to be on her own terms.

The queen has spoken, and her subjects could only follow.

The helicopter finally lifted off. Ryo and the others watched, while the trapped people had no choice but to wait until the ice melted.

Their varying expressions of anger, humiliation, and also surrender was very funny, and it so happened that Kaize—who had the window seat—saw it.

Kaize caressed Khalifa’s waist, kissing her neck. "What did you do? Care to share?"

Khalifa patted his face as he licked her.

"I may have modified their water content to make them more… conductive."

"Hmm, sounds complicated," Kaize said, moving to lick her ears. "That technique from before must’ve taken a lot of energy…"

"Do you need help?" he asked, but the way his pupils dilated showed his mood.

Khalifa pinched his cheek. "Ryo paid us a lot for downpayment for the supplies, you know."

Translation: She had a lot of crystals.

She also found out that the space vegetables helped more than power stones. She would try to get the seeds and plant them outside, and she’d wonder if it could help everyone’s immune systems.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she felt the wet tongue increase in temperature, focusing on particularly sensitive spots in her neck.

She patted his head, not wanting to get any more aroused. "Behave."

Kaize chuckled, placing a smooch on her cheek, before finally stopping his ministrations.

"Yes, my Queen."
