Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse-Chapter 239: Settling the Port Area
Taking advantage of the momentum, the party cleaned up the place. They killed those who seemed dangerous to keep alive and punished those who were questionable but had some hope (like those who had nothing to do with Ugo’s murder, abuse of others, and the like).
This placed both relief and fear in the locals, but mostly they were hopeful of a better life.
Living with those gangsters was like walking on thin rope every day!
One wrong move could get them beat up or even killed! It was worse for women who, if they received the wrong kind of attention, would be living a life worse than death!
Of course, this wasn’t the case for some women, who had lived off other women’s sufferings to gain a better life for themselves.
No, sometimes, it wasn’t even that. Some women just wanted others to suffer so they could feel superior to them.
For example, the woman who was kneeling in front of Khalifa as many others who were victims of her selfishness looked on with dark eyes.
"No! Please! Don’t!!" The woman yelled, "Please spare me!"
Seeing Khalifa’s expression wasn’t changing, she looked at the men who were guarding her side closely like knights.
She gritted down her jealousy, appearing extremely pitiful, hoping to pluck a few heartstrings.
"Cauis! Cauis please! I’m so young! I didn’t kill anyone!"
"Kaize!" She cried. "Tell her. Tell her I’m not a bad person!"
She kept screaming and she didn’t even have to wait for Khalifa to make a move, a spike of earth went through her heart, closely followed by a ball of fire straight on her head.
"GYAHHH!!!" she screamed, flinching as her body was skewered by the earth. Khalfia ignored her and looked at the two other women who were kneeling down, already peeing in fear.
"N-Nonono, please don—"
Slash!
Slash!
Khalifa had no beef with them so she didn’t make them suffer too much, letting them die with a clean beheading.
Even after the two women had fallen, the first one was still screaming. Fortunately, it only lasted a few more seconds and she finally died, allowing peace to return to the area.
She nodded farewells to the other women—the victims, who looked at her with gratitude and awe—finally heading towards the meetup place so they could finally go home.
While they walked, Kaize couldn’t help but want to clear his name.
"She was so cringy," Kaize said, as if telling on the woman. "She tried to seduce me many times, but I didn’t look her way at all. Then she turned her attention to Cauis, and I don’t know anymore."
He made it seem like there was something going on between her and Cauis.
The professor sighed, taking off his glasses to wipe it.
"I couldn’t touch women other than Khalifa. Even my first girlfriend made me disgusted," he sighed. "I’m sure you won’t understand. You know too much about different women."
Kaize: "..."
He lost this green tea battle for sure. Shame!
Khalifa chuckled and shook her head, and the two bantered like this until their group had gathered on the gates again.
At this time, scores of locals had gathered around to see them off. Even if some were afraid she’d try to behead them, they still went out as per request.
It may have to do with Kaize hinting anyone who didn’t follow was going to get punished, and this made everyone mobilize no matter how scared they were.
It could be said that, in the Port Base, the word ’punish’ alone could make someone pee in his pants.
Khalifa looked at the people who were gathered at the small plaza, shivering, probably wondering what she’d do to them next.
"My name is Khalifa. You may know Professor Cauis and Kaize, and this is Jacob and Sigmund—a scientist studying the cure," she said, and everyone blinked and gaped at her introduction—especially with regards to Sigmund.

"We are firmly on the side of humans, not with the zombies. Anyone who wants to destroy other humans, a base, or cause chaos are considered ’for the zombies’," she said. "As long as you side with the humans, you are our ally. We are your friends."
She let that sit for a while, allowing some to start relaxing, though others were understandably still wary.
"As you can see, we have claimed this base, and will share some degree of responsibility for it."
Before the local’s shoulders could slump in relief, she continued with her speech. "We will not be staying here, however."
"What?" came from several directions.
"What about us?" Asked another, but then his eyes met Khalifa’s and he immediately shut up in fear.
She giggled. The sound was melodious and it inexplicably calmed them a bit more.
"You don’t have to be so afraid of me," she said. "I will only kill evil people who hurt others for their own gains.
"You only need to be afraid if you’re one of those. Are you one of those?"
The young lad wildly shook his head. "N-N-NO, ma’am!"
She smiled, turning to look at everyone else, also taking this chance to see if she missed anyone who should be killed.
Fortunately, there was none so far, otherwise this already small group would lose another manpower.

After a bit of orientation, Khalifa and the others asked what everyone’s specialties and knowledge bases were. A territory could not only be built on strength, after all.
From the group they had a doctor, a few engineers, cleaners, masons, and the like. Cauis noted this all, and they already made preliminary plans on how to use them.
This base wasn’t big, so about a hundred people already felt a bit crowded in the area.
This place wouldn’t be able to handle a thousand without feeling cramped. That said, they should still plan for an expansion.
Although there were indeed plenty of people who fought against zombies, those who had some leadership skills must’ve been killed by those gangsters already.
Sigh. What a waste.
"This place has no leader now," she told them "But it doesn’t mean it can’t be strong.
"To rebuild this place… we need your help.
"Are you willing or not?"
