Khalifa: Queen in the Apocalypse-Chapter 260: Successful Rescue
Goddess!
And, belatedly, they also recognized where she was at.
"Helicopters!!!" They yelled and soon the zombies got attracted by the sound and headed there instead.
The locals were curious about what these people were doing but they just quickly saved their companions who could be saved, most especially Pedro.
"Boss! Come with us! Hurry!"
But they couldn’t pull him. He just stared in fascination at the helicopter. When the others turned to follow his sights, they saw people jumping down one by one.
They gasped.
"What are they doing!"
"Did they fall?!"
"Shit! How do we help?"
But they realized they jumped on purpose, unafraid, and the people could only gape as various elements were wielded in a way they had never seen before, handling mobs with ease.
They saw how walls were erected to block the zombies, then they watched it move to push the zombies down to be consumed by a flamethrower.
They also saw the metal spikes that skewered several zombies at the same time, and then a massive voltage that just disintegrated monsters.
There was another super zombie that appeared, but a tanned man took him head-on! Directly!
Whoosh! Whoosh!
Bang!
From the helicopters hovering above and gathering the zombies, there were also attackers who were slowly but surely taking down zombies one by one!
They had gunmen with unusual guns that seemed to have lasers as bullets! They were experts and every shot a zombie would fall.
Most of all, the most striking one was that Goddess!
She was inhumanly beautiful. Her eyes were strikingly blue as the sky and her hair shimmering under the light. At this time, she went alone into a horde without a man, a crystal-like scythe was around her, beheading everything in its path! .
Although there weren’t many people in the team, it seemed that clearing this mob wasn’t an impossible feat!?
They watched as more and more zombies fell around these people, how they traversed the area as they attracted zombies, only to deal with them as a group for efficiency.
And these newcomers were barely breaking a sweat!
The people who had been filled with hopelessness a few minutes prior now had bright eyes.
It seemed… that they were really saved!!!
"***
"Thank you! Thank you!" Pedro yelled as soon as things were cleared. He was followed by the other survivors, and they looked at them with worshiping eyes.
"We were just passing by," Kaize said with a shrug, holding out a blanket as he cleaned some blood on Khalifa’s hand.

The others shook their heads with a smile, refocusing on the group of hundreds survivors surrounding them. Specifically, on the old man.
Kylo looked at him, blue eyes deep in thought. "What’s your name?"
"Pedro Cruz, sir."
"Are you in service?"
Kylo had been observing this person since the fight. His movements, his sense of justice, and the respect the people had for him were all noteworthy qualities.
The man seemed a little surprised by his question, though he shook his head in the end. "I retired from the force ten years ago."
Kylo nodded and the others looked a little enlightened.
So their leader was a retired policeman.
They looked at him closely. Rather, how he interacted with the other refugees, and they to him.
The soldiers he assigned in the Port Base were there for the military aspect. For the political and actual leadership among citizens, however, he had not yet found someone.
While in the current situation the administrative functions would go under the military, it was still necessary at their current stage of development.
Looking at it now, maybe Khalifa didn’t have anything to worry about after all.
Cauis, the main politicían in their group, stepped forward to talk to him. "What do you plan to do now?"
He looked at the remaining people, a small fraction of what they had, and their base in a poor state.
"Is it… is it possible to go with you?"
Cauis smiled and looked at the sea. Pedro and the others were confused at first, but when followed his sight, they saw three boats heading in their direction!
"This…"
"We brought them here in case you’d need to relocate."
"!!!"
To say they were shocked that big boats were heading to them—apparently for their use—was an understatement.
They felt like they were dreaming even as they watched it dock. They climbed up the boats and saw how well maintained they were. There was even nice seating as well as a few crackers and water!!
"This…!!"
"Well, it’s a welcoming gift from us," Cauis said, "We’ll see you there."

The few hours of travel felt so long. Their hearts were lifted as they were brought to a new place. Everyone looked at each other, mourning for their lost friends and loved ones, but also celebrating for a renewed hope of a new life.
They went down the ports and saw everything was clean. It was so peaceful that the chatter of crowds they could hear from a distance were definitely human’s.
In the port, there were no zombies at all, only two of the men from before—one was the soldier and the other was the professor.
"This is the Eastern Port Base, which is currently being developed into one of the strongholds of humankind."
He guided them through the ports and it had a similar layout to the previous one except there was much more activity—whether it was human or infrastructure. There were also a lot of soldiers doing their rounds.
As they walked they reached one of the edges and they saw the new fence being built. It was tall and done quickly, with a secondary protection to keep the zombies away, which were easily cleared by the guards when they gathered too many.
The newcomers gaped at everything.
"It’s nothing much, for now, but it will grow well in the next couple of weeks—hopefully with your help."
This made them flinch and look at him with wide teary eyes.
"Us?"
"Hmn," Cauis said, with a tone of certainty. "Let us build this place together," he said.
"And welcome…" Cauis said with a smile, "...to your new home."
