Chapter 74: Chapter 74: Authorities

Alchemy opened her status panel, quickly scrolling until her new 4th page was visible.

Crouching down, Alchemy placed her hand over the soil that the World Tree chose as its resting place

<Notice: Feeding the Divine Tree will not count for the Miracle Generation skill. Would you like to feed the Divine Tree anyway? Y/N>

<Notice: Confirmed. 2500 Divine Power has been Consumed!>

<Notice: Your Nameless Divine Tree has grown to the next stage and gained a new Authority and Curse!>

<Your FAI has increased by 5!>

Quickly, the first sprout of the acorn busted through the surface of the dirt, making its small, insignificant self known to the world above.

The minuscule seedling swayed back and forth despite the lack of wind. It was as if it were dancing happily.

Alchemy reopened the information tab to refresh it as it gained new features.

"Haah... You’re a greedy brat, aren’t you, little one?" Alchemy sighed.

The tree needed the same amount of Divine Power as she did, but it could only be used for one or the other. Finally, the true scope of how much Divine Power Alchemy will inevitably need begins to reveal itself.

That being said, she got quite the interesting synergy with her Ruinous Bloom skill, so here’s to hoping that’d lighten the load, even if only slightly.

She had a related plan for later, so experimentation could wait until the end of the day. For now, she wanted to look at the bonuses she got.

<Divine Catalyst>

<Type: Authority>

<Usage: Doubles all bonuses related to Divine Power.>

=

<Ferocious Vitality>

<Type: Authority>

<Usage: One per day, HP and SP can be completely refilled! Status Ailments will also be removed.>

<Usage: Greatly increases healing for all members of Alchemy Ennis’s Nameless Territory’s Civilization!>

=

’More healing... Woo.’ She thought sarcastically.

It was strong, sure, but Ruinous Bloom was already an extremely powerful healing skill.

’At least with this, I can take a lot of damage from Supplication and then heal back to full without wasting Divine Power.’ Alchemy shrugged.

Ferocious Vitality aside, Divine Catalyst was just amazing. When it said it doubled all bonuses to Divine Power, that meant her bonus stats in Faith, any modifiers or multipliers for how much Divine Power she gets, and any bonuses that’d strengthen her Miracles.

Its value could not be understated. The good ended with that, however, as Alchemy moved her attention to the curses.

<Tree’s Sorrow>

<Type: Curse(Divine)>

<Usage: Upon Alchemy Ennis’s Nameless Territory’s World Tree’s death, all elemental damage is increased by 100%; elemental super effective damage gains 200% instead.>

=

<Caustic Decay>

<Type: Curse(Divine)>

<Usage: Upon Alchemy Ennis’s Nameless Territory’s World Tree’s death, all related persons lose permanent max health and durability.>

"Ah," Alchemy said.

"What’s wrong, Mother Goddess?" Nera questioned.

For a brief time, Alchemy turned to Nera.

"Well... I debated whether I should keep upgrading the Divine Tree, but I got the worst possible Curse immediately. If the tree is ever destroyed, I will simply take triple damage from all magic. In a world filled with only magic so far."

"Ah," Nera had the same reaction.

"Hey, at least it made the hard decision for me."

That was the best she could do for now. She had fallen to a measly 299 Divine Power, so moving around would be impossible for the next few days. Not that she had any desire to leave since she needed to focus on things around her territory anyway.

Whatever the case, that left only one thing remaining on her agenda.

<Ascend from Tier 1: Tribal to Tier 2: Colony>

|<Requirements: Prospect’s Manor 0/1 | Tier 1 Buildings upgraded 5/5 | Tier 2 buildings placed 2/5| Personal level 25 25/25 OR Stage two World Tree 1/1 | Population 138/150 | 1 Hero 1/1>|

"Oh, population. It’s... Probably about time I got some more Granis anyway."

Alchemy rushed to the Verminae Brood and created six more sets of Granitects, bringing the total to 150.

<You meet all the requirements to Ascend. Would you like to ascend your Civilization to Tier 2 [Colony Stage] Y/N>

<Congratulations Prospect! You’re the first person to ascend your Civilization to Tier 2!>

<You have accomplished a Legendary Feat! Be the first Prospect to lead a 2nd Tier Civilization!>

<Your total land has increased significantly due to your achievements prior to ascending!>

<The system’s ability to discern the power of others has been upgraded! It can now give brief insights into personalities and relationships!>

<You can now research Tier 3 Buildings! Previous buildings placed can also be upgraded to Tier 3!>

Pushing away the notifications, Alchemy nodded in satisfaction.

It wasn’t a surprise that she was the first to reach Tier 2. Assuming everyone had to Tier up the usual way for simplicity, It’d take at least 10 days just to refine the necessary ores to upgrade and place all the buildings.

Even if they were given the best possible start for ore and no other negative factors were considered, meaning their faction was Dwarves and they spawned in a resource-rich mountain range, it’d take them anywhere from 5 to 7 days.

Vouchers could speed all that up, but the point was Alchemy only managed to make it so quickly because of the Verminae’s synergy with the World Tree. Hell, she didn’t even have her smeltery placed yet.
