Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Caras, The Forsaken Knight Of The Lost King(4)

To stop Gravana’s momentum, Caras kept punching through his barrier of storms.

Somehow, the Heroic Dire Tooth didn’t flinch at all while being dragged across the jagged stone walls or as the torrenting winds tried to tear him to pieces.

Not that Gravana was much different in that regard. The corrosion and his wind kept eating away at each other, stopping either from making any notable progress.

"Hmph! Fly away, rodent!" Gravana laughed, tossing Caras into the sky.

While in the air, even more wind coalesced around Gravana’s arm. Unlike the winged insects that he’s been around so often recently, Caras had no way to correct himself while in the air, allowing for Gravana to take all the time he wanted charging this next attack.

"CHAOS WIND!"

Gravana punched upward, his fist colliding with Caras’s spine and sending him straight into the roof.

With a swipe of his free arm, his wind armor broke apart and scattered throughout the throne room until it reconverged at Caras’s roofy resting place, slashing at him continuously.

"Gale Cutter!"

"Is that all you got?" Gravana scoffed, a crazed glint dancing in his eyes.

While he said that, he looked at his fist and the numerous wounds his body was accumulating.

’He grew significantly stronger after we stopped attacking together. Does he have an ability similar to mine? One that defies the laws of the world?’ Gravana questioned himself.

’Heroic ability? Is that what you call them? How interesting.’

As Gravana conversed with the system, Caras finally freed himself from the wind’s onslaught. He roared like a madman, causing the wind to dissipate.

It was already barely doing anything, thanks to his Corrosive aura constantly eating away at it, so Gravana wasn’t surprised he broke free so quickly.

Gale Cutter was a powerful technique, but it was a derivative of his strongest defensive magic, Gale’s False Dance.

When using the magic as intended, the wind rages as it wishes, allowing him to go about his battle without worrying about controlling it. But turning it into an offensive barrage-type magic, he couldn’t even move properly while managing the wind.

Once again, Caras’s other eye gained a red flame-like glow amongst his corrosive aura. That wasn’t his only change, however.

He grew in size and gained a new helmet made of that black energy. From a mere 1.8 meters to a whopping four meters tall, his armor began to bulge outward as his muscles grew to match.

Following this, he tried to burrow, but Gravana kicked him through the Corrosive aura. Thanks to his speed, he didn’t interact with the aura for long enough for it to do anything serious to him, merely singing off his fur and leaving a chemical burn mark.

Caras attempted to retaliate with the boosted attack from his Corrupted Honor, but Gravana ducked to the side, countering by slashing the knight with his claws.

"Very well! You’re the first person to warrant me using my full power since those damned tree lovers. Be glad, valiant knight." He said while Caras was staggered.

Gravana’s eyes changed color from their usual silver to a baby blue. His fur changed similarly, swapping from teal to a radiant gold, becoming spiked as the wind began to surround him without his conscious input, tearing the upper half of his gi.

"I might not like you, but you have a good naming sense!" He complimented the system.

His eyes dilated as the once-raging wind calmed to a breeze, leaving only a thin layer covering him. Certainly not enough to offset Caras’s corrosive aura.

"Wind Rider."

Gravana grabbed Caras’s still-spinning horn faster than ever before and tore it off. Caras responded in kind with a blow aimed at Gravana’s face, but he blocked it and retaliated without moving.

The wind that flew around him gleefully sliced straight into Caras’s breastplate, sending him flying back. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮

"Zephyr Claw"

Slashing the air in the shape of an "X" with his claws, a seemingly gentle breeze followed closely behind Caras, shattering his seemingly invincible armor.

Caras’s eyes widened. He tried to vocalize, but the Nightmare, whatever it was, had long since taken his ability too.

<Caras, the Forsaken Knight of the Lost King, is about to enter his third phase!>

The system notification made Gravana sigh. His MP was starting to get low, currently sitting just above half.

As much as he wanted to see this third phase, he didn’t want to put his disciple in needless danger after talking big.

He took a step forward. That single step carried him all the way across the room to the throne that Caras was sent flying into.

It was as if he had become the wind itself, gliding along with it, nothing more than a passing breeze.

"Rend," He said in a whisper, bringing his nail to Caras’s neck.

Seconds later, his head came cleanly off his body. Due to the corrosive aura, any blood that tried to escape his body was burned away before it could.

"Goodbye, valiant warrior." He continued to speak as he turned around.

<You have defeated a Heroic enemy! Congratulations!>

<Caras, the Forsaken Knight of the Lost King(Hero) has been slain!>

The notifications graced the eyes of Nera and Alchemy, who struggled to deal with the seemingly indestructible weapon. Luckily for them, it, the dropped helmet, and the destroyed armor vanished upon Caras’s death.

Alchemy turned to face Gravana as he returned to his normal state.

"Teacher! You actually did it!" She cheered.

"Haah?! Did you think I couldn’t?" Gravana raised a brow.

"No, uhm... To be honest, I just thought you’d pull something stupid like jobbing it, and then... Never mind, yeah, I thought you couldn’t beat it." Alchemy nodded furiously.

Halfway through her sentence, Alchemy realized that she shouldn’t give Gravana more ideas on how to torture her.

"Now what! What were you about to say?!" Gravana roared sarcastically.

"Nothing!" Alchemy stuck out her tongue like a child.

While approaching Alchemy, Gravana cracked his knuckles.

"It seems I haven’t disciplined you enough, Disciple!"
