Chapter 47: Let The Games Begin!

The two beings who had appeared earlier were still hovering above Creston city, they stood close to the place the association had kept a tab on. They were the ones distorting mana.

"I must say, Cerion, the Kings weren’t wasting time to meet with the Heir of Chaos. He must have struck their fancy, I can only imagine what is going through their minds." The one who always bore a smile spoke as they were looking at the distortion.

"Calous, they are only trying to preserve the order, you know how they don’t want anything to bring them trouble with the great gods. But we both know that it’s chaos we are talking about here." Cerion smiled before turning to his ally. "There is bound to be something fun happening, and there is no way to stop it."

"Cerion, you just smiled! It has been two hundred thousand, and this is the first time I have seen you smile. This is bound to be interesting!"

Calous couldn’t control his menacing laughter as he rolled around in the air. "Only if he will live through the torment that is coming his way. This is delightful; for the first time in eons, we are going to witness them interfering in the lives of mortals."

Cerion, who was now laughing, waved his hand. Immediately, a dungeon gate unfolded; the waves from the gate alone were enough to kill a low-ranking warrior. The mana coming from the dungeon echoed a lullaby that shattered through souls. Birds flying in the area instantly fell to their deaths; it was a horror.

"Let the games begin!"

The association had gotten the information that a gate had opened. They were on high alert, and it was clear that the dungeon opened in the same place they had been paying attention to for the past few days.

Liu and Keith were alerted once it happened, and they rushed to the place, not wasting time, but on getting there they could see what was going on and how it was not natural.

"Liu, are you seeing this?!" Keith was doing his best not to get pulled in by the waves from the dungeon, it was enough to kill a man.

".."

"Liu?" Keith turned to see the horror on Liu’s face, it was like he had seen something that was not meant to be there.

Liu was frozen. Drenched in sweat. He stared at the horror ahead, clearly, he was hearing something. Something that no one could hear but him.

"The Inheritor Of Chaos Will Fall!" An eerie voice echoed from the dungeon; no other person could hear it except Liu.

"What is happening?!" Liu said as he watched in horror. There was nothing that would be able to explain who would lie on the other side of the dungeon. He was looking at the dungeon when suddenly he found himself inside a temple.

Liu looked around to see there was nothing but statues, he turned back again to see something absolutely horrifying.

He saw a seven-foot shadow, its eyes were filled with flames. The heat alone from the creature could burn the skin of a man, he held a 200 cm sword.

Liu stepped back in fear, he couldn’t run.

"Tell Ashran’s Heir that his time to die has come!" The monster spoke, its voice shaking the very temple, causing the statues to shake.

Liu fell to his knees. holding his head, he screamed in horror. "What is that thing? It’s going to kill us, it is going to kill us."

Keith saw that his partner was having a vision and knew that it was beyond dangerous to leave him alone. He yanked Liu back by the collar, dragging him away from the dungeon’s pull.. "You need to keep it together Liu, we are going to call The SS-ranks and make sure that they would shut this shithole down."

Liu snapped out of it and placed his arm on Keith. He was shaking, trying to hold himself together.

"Don’t send any warrior into that thing; they will walk in and not come out." Liu’s voice cracked like he had seen something horrible.

"Liu, did you see something? Did you have a premonition? Tell me, what did you see?!" Keith wanted to know what was going on in Liu’s mind, something had pushed him to tell Keith to warn the warriors to back off.

Liu’s hands were still trembling as he turned back to look at the dungeon gate.

"I saw death. Anyone who enters this dungeon will perish! There is something inside there, and it is waiting for someone to walk through."

Keith turned to the dungeon and swallowed hard. he couldn’t understand what Liu had seen, but he was sure that whenever he saw something, it would mean that whatever was on the other side of the dungeon was going to be the end of them.

"What in the world is in there?"

Darius was back in the training ground battling with the phase two golems, he was not going to lie around and wait for the Champions to show up while he wasn’t ready.

Suddenly, he felt a chill behind him, he looked back to see if there was something there.

’You felt it, didn’t you, Darius?’ Azree asked, his voice laced with hints of worry. It turned out that he and Darius had felt the same thing.

"Yes, something is here in the city." Darius calmly spoke as he shattered the Golem coming for him. "Do you think it’s them?"

’The mana feels like the Champion Of The Ever Burning Flames. Darius, they have made their move. It is time.’ Azree spoke slowly.

"Now?! I am not ready, there is no way I can go up against something that strong. There has to be a way for..."

’No!’ Azree cut in. ’If we are going to wait till you are ready, then you will never get ready. Every moment you waste, more of them will come; you need to go now!’

"Am I going to be able to win this?" Darius looked at the mark on his hand.

’You have to put faith in your abilities, there is no telling what you can do.’ Azree was trying to convince Darius.

Darius clenched his fists as he looked up, his mind racing through one question. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

’What was waiting for him out there?’
