Legacy Of Fire: Chronicles Of The F-ranked Anomaly-Chapter 48: The Trial Begins- Enter The Path Of Fire
Darius had a problem going for the raid; Lena was not letting him leave the house. She blocked the way, trying to make sure that he was not going to leave.
"Lena, please, I will be back early, and we will do anything you want." Darius looked at Lena, hoping her expression would soften enough to let him pass.
Lena stood her ground, she was not moving out of the way. "No, I am not letting you leave. I saw you almost die yesterday! Your eyes went white, and I held you; you were not responding. I don’t want to lose you, I don’t have any other person in this world aside from you; we can manage, so please don’t go on this raid!"
Tears fell from the girl’s eyes as she was looking at her brother. It was not that she didn’t want to let him go on the raid or anything. She had seen him almost die in front of her, it was enough to make her not let him leave.
"I want you to be here with me and don’t leave, we have enough money don’t we? I will be a good girl, and I will not bother you a lot so we save enough money and make you happy."
Darius was moved when he heard Lena’s words, he was not sure if he wanted to let her worry that much about him.
He leaned over to look at her, ruffling her hair as he gave a heartwarming smile. "I know you are worried that something will happen to me, but I am going to be fine, and I will be back before you know it."
Lena, who was still sobbing, clung to his shirt. She was not letting him go anywhere. She felt like if Darius left, then she might not see him again.
"Promise me, you will come back in one piece." She mumbled, holding his shirt.
Darius smiled. he looked at his sister, pulling her in for a hug. "I will be back, and nothing is going to happen. When I get back, I promise you this weekend, I will take you for ice cream and we can go to that amusement park you have been telling me about."
Lena was still holding her brother; she slowly let go, taking off one of the bracelets she had put on Darius’s arm. "This is my good luck charm for you. It will chase the monsters far away from you."
Darius was looking at the bracelet, and he couldn’t hold in the little tears that fell from his eyes. He pulled Lena in for one more hug, "I will come back, I promise you that. Nothing will be able to keep me from coming backing to you, Lena."
"You better!" she whispered, holding on just a little longer.
Darius gave her a kiss on the forehead before leaving the house. Once he got outside, he turned to the west side of the city and began running there.
On getting close to the area, the tattoo on his right arm began to glow. Darius paused for a second, looking at his arm, he looked at the distortion in the sky. Only a few with a certain amount of power could see the mana distortion in the sky above the area.
It was otherworldly...
{Notice! Enter The Trial Of Fire- Defeat Pryion Champion Of Fire Dragon King.}
"So it begins." Darius began walking to the dungeon. he couldn’t think of the horror waiting for him inside the dungeon, but he was going to take it down no matter what and go back to Lena.
’Darius,’ Azree chimed in. Darius stopped walking when he heard Azree’s voice.
’You are entering the Trial Of Fire. Once this fight starts, you might lose contact with me; remember this. Your skills are way stronger than you think, just like the training learn to evolve them.’ Azree gave Darius one last talk, knowing that they were going to lose contact once he began fighting the Champion of Fire.
"I will, Azree, I will not let him hurt me or keep me from getting back home to my sister." Darius started walking to the dungeon. Once he was close to the dungeon gate, he spotted Liu and Keith there.
He knew that they were never going to let him walk in. But he was going to do something about it and get past them.
Liu looked up and saw Darius walking close to them. His eyes were fixed on the Dungeon Gate.
’No, what in the world is he doing here?’ Liu leaves Keith to block Darius from going anywhere close to the dungeon.
"Mr. Winters, I am afraid I can’t let you walk past me." Liu stood before him; he was unsure what was going on in the boy’s mind as he wanted to enter a dungeon that almost petrified him.
Darius looked at Liu, he was surprised that someone was going to try and stop him. He couldn’t do anything to walk past him.
Darius scratched his head, looking at Liu, he was not sure what he was meant to say to convince him that he was going to be okay.
"Mr. Liu, let me through, please. I know you think that I might be trying to do something extremely stupid, but I can assure you that this is the only thing that can close that dungeon." Darius was looking at Liu, he could see that the man was not going to let him through.
"I know you think this is going to be like other dungeons, but whatever is inside there is nothing something anyone can survive. I need you to understand this and please go back home to Lena, she will need to know her big brother is fine."
Liu was trying his best to talk Darius out of even going close to the Dungeon, but nothing was pushing the young warrior back.
He smiled as he extended his hand to shake Liu, "I am going to come out of that Dungeon, and if I don’t. Please make sure that Lena will be taken care of, Her birthday is the password to the accounts I left her."
"Are you crazy?!" Liu was looking at Darius, he looked at the warrior, trying to see if he would see what was pushing him to say something like that. "You are not going to make it out of that place, so there is no need for you to think of doing anything stupid! I am not going to let you through; you don’t know what is inside there!"
"You can see what someone has gone through or has seen, right?" Darius asked, looking at Liu.
The man was stunned when he heard Darius’s question, he was not sure why or how he had figured out that part of his abilities.
"Why do you ask? And most importantly, how do you know this?" Liu was looking at Darius, he was trying to see what was making him even ask him to take his hand.
"Back at the hospital, the moment you touched my hand, you shuddered, and you almost lost your composure, and I was trying to think of what was going to be able to make a man like you almost lose it. I then realised that you might have seen what I had gone through in that dungeon. You saw the monster I faced and how I barely survived."
Darius had a smile on his face, he stretched his hand further. "So if that is the case, I want you to shake my hand Then you will decide if I am meant to enter the dungeon or not."
Liu was looking at Darius, he was not sure why the warrior was trying to get him to shake his hand like that. But he was also sure that there might be something he was not seeing.
He streched his hand to shake Darius, the moment he touched him. He saw everything, from his training to Darius standing in front of the Seven Dragon Kings and their champions.
The mere sight of the Dragon Kings made Liu almost throw up. he let go of Darius’s hand immediately and took a step back. His entire body was filled with dread of what he had seen, he had gazed into the memories of many warriors, and they were all filled with something normal like human memories.
But this boy... He was not like the others; Liu had seen something beyond all his years of being part of the association.
He was looking at the boy, he couldn’t bring the words out of his mouth properly. He had to shake himself together to ask one question.
"Who are you?"
Darius smiled; he looked straight at the dungeon gate. "Me? I am just a normal man who stumbled into something way bigger than him."
He turned to Liu, wanting to know if he would let him through.
"So, are you going to stop me?" Darius asked, looking at the man. Liu was still trying to put himself together. He was not sure if he was going to be able to stop him.
He turned to Darius, looking at the warrior, he had only one thing on his mind. "Make sure you come back for Lena!"
Darius smiled and gave Liu a thumbs up. "I made a promise that I will, so I am not going to die there."
