Legacy Of The Extra-Chapter 19: Means
Chapter 19 - Means
[Ethan, I think you should sleep]
"I am almost done, Dante." Ignoring the dark circles under my eyes, I continued writing in the notebook.
[What are you writing anyway?] Dante asked.
"My knowledge of the future," I said the pen in my hand still scribbling, "And my plans,"
After saying goodnight to Aunt Josephine and Brother Michael, I stepped into the room that Aunt had given me. But instead of sleeping, I started scribbling down the game's story in a summary—that means I only included the main scenarios and a few sidequests that can help me enhance my strength.
I also noted down the plans that I wanted to start with.
-----------------------------------------------------------
To Do List-
1. Training.
a. To achieve at least Mid Adept Mana Core before the Academy.
b. To unlock Aura core and improve it as fast as I can, at least a low Knight.
c. Also improve my physique.
2. To Survive and Find a Place to belong to.
3. To get the Aegisguard and Sturmscourge.
4. To save Aeris Illya Thalorean and make her the first member of the Covenant.
------------------------------------------------------------
[What's this Covenant?]
"Ah this, I am still not sure about it," I said, "Creating this might hinder the plot but you know what?"
[What?]
"Fuck the plot"
[...] Dante remained quiet but then uttered, [Hypocrite]
"My survival is more important! Wouldn't it be better if I dealt with things myself?" I shot back.
[But it would ruin everything and cause changes in future events]
"That is why I created the covenant," I replied, a smile tugging at my lips, "You see, even if I know the future. I am not some God that can just retain knowledge of everything around him."
"In the game, we only play through Raiden's eyes and no one else's. We only see, what he sees"
Before escaping the Blitzfeld, my only plan was to just stay the fuck away from everything and fill in the spaces where the plot changed.
But that mindset won't take me far. I have knowledge of almost everything in this world—Be it legendary weapons and armour, unique magic or legacies—So, shouldn't I use my knowledge for my own?
[But you did not explain the covenant and This Aeris's purpose in your plan.]
"Take the Covenant as a group who will, in the public act as a Mercenary or Mazekin Guild but on the inside they will be my eyes and ears—They are my informants for gaining knowledge about Blitzfeld and The Cult"
"But I am still not sure about it because I can't just trust anybody to join. In both of these two lives, I have only learned one thing—Don't trust someone blindly"
[So is this Aeris someone special to you?] Dante asked with a voice full of doubt.
"No, she is an antagonist" I replied bluntly.
[What!?]
"Yeah, she is an elf who was treated poorly by her own people and was even betrayed by them." I leaned back on the chair and stretched my arms, "Ugh, she was then captured by human slavers and used by them as a means to please their desires—Until she was completely broken"
[Then that's a good thing you are saving her from that fate]
"Who said I am saving her because I pity her? I am saving her because her legacy is overpowered even Raiden had trouble defeating her" Standing up, I head towards my bed.
[What is her legacy?] Dante asked with curiosity.
"The Legacy of Arkana or the power to manipulate the Mana itself"
[...]
"How do you think she wiped out two out of the three Elven kingdoms?" I smirked, "If someone like her joined my cause, my chances of survival would increase and I could fend off the cult easily."
"Also she can help grant me access to the Elven continent where the Trial for the Aegisguard armour is located"
[Fine but be careful Ethan, every action you take will have its consequences. Every fate you alter will create a new thread.] Dante warned.
"I know but I cannot sit still and just die," I said lying down on the bed as my body slumped against the soft mattress, "I will alter—No—crush my fate"
Uttering those words my eyelids felt heavy and my consciousness slowly faded into darkness.
...
...
"Wake up!!" A voice pierced through my ears as I felt a cold and wet sensation on my face. I jumped up startled, only to see Micheal with an empty bucket in his hands and that all my clothes were soaked with water.
"Time for training, Noah" He said his lips curving in a smile that annoyed me.
"The sun is not even up, Brother." I spat looking outside the window where the sky was still etched with a dark hue.
"It is even better don't you think?"
"...Yes" I did not bother to argue, he was the same as in the game—Stubborn.
After waking up to a very warm morning, I headed inside the bathroom and took off my soaked clothes. I was still a fat moron—But not so fat that I would receive asthma attacks for running a short mile.
I brushed my teeth and cleaned my face, put on a nice and loose tunic with a brown trouser. Today was the day, I was finally going to start my proper training.
'System, what is the date today?'
'Great I have three more months till the kidnapping of Aeris which should be... Fuck I forgot'
<22nd December, 3E 198>
'Thanks'
'At least you are useful to me unlike my Guide over here' I scoffed.
[Shut up and at least start the day by saying good morning] Dante retorted.
'Yeah, Good Morning'
Dante feigned ignorance to my late greeting. Well, I do not have to mess around with him now so I made my downstairs where Micheal was waiting for me.
After making sure I was ready we both stepped outside the house for what Micheal said was a short run. One thing, in this world Humans were far stronger. For comparison let's take a normal human from Earth and a Human from Elmar and let them fight it out.
The Earthly Human will just die in One Punch.
And also the physical demands in Elmar are pretty high. The push-ups that can be performed by an average human here is 200. That is the average not the highest—the average.
So, a short run would be at least 50-60 km. This is not a problem for Noah currently but the thing is I knew Micheal well. For him, a short run would be a whopping 150 km and a long run is 500 Km.
Also, we were from the Blitzfeld so agility should be in our veins. But I have a D- Agility which was actually lower before I transmigrated.
"Noah, Let's Run!" Micheal's voice boomed as he started stretching his legs.
"Don't shout," I said as I followed suit, "How much distance do we have to cover?"

"200 Km"
"Motherfuck—"
"No cursing," Micheal said as he took off running. And having no choice I followed.
...
...
"Huff...Huff...Huff..." I gasped sitting on the ground as my leg felt sore, my head was feeling dizzy and sweat covered my whole body slowly descending and falling on the ground. The 'Short-run' was not bad I was somehow able to keep up with Micheal.
But then—Then he suggested we try it with needle pinch and Oh lord, Fuck Me!
My mana vaporized into thin air with no signs of returning and a few times when the flow went out of control, my whole body would explode with pain as if thousands of needles had been poked onto my skin from the inside.
"You did better than I thought," Micheal drawled his eyes tinged with mischievous glint.
Ignoring his remark, I stood up from the ground and started making my way towards the house but Micheal stopped me.
"Where are you going? You have bodyweight exercises to do then swordsmanship training and then mana training"
"No break?" I asked squinting my eyes.
"Isn't 5 minutes enough?" He stated tilting his head as if it had been obvious.
'Curse me' I screamed internally as Micheal dragged me.
