Lost Origins: SS Ranked Awakening-Chapter 126: Restrictions
The man wasn’t phased seeing apprear in front of him, a small purple sphere appearing between him and Lucian, exploding into a poisonous gas.
Lucain pressed forwarding without any care, the poison was too weak to bypass the protection of his flames. If anything, they were like a quick snack, a minor energy source that his flames quickly devoured.
The moment, he stepped out of the small fog, he was welcomed with a huge purple fist the size of his face planting itself into his head.
BANG!!
The sound of the fist moving through the air and landing on his face was like a bullet going off and Lucian felt his head jero back before his day followed.
His disguise had been smashed to bits but, the flames still covered his face.
He got back to his feet and saw the man who had once again closed in. The change in size didn’t do much to alter his speed.
He was almost as fast as before, with a little speed loss.
"Stay down!"
The man said, bringing his two fists above his head and smashing them on Lucian.
Lucian rolled out at the last moment, escaping a future with cracked bones.
Getting back on his feet, he spat out a clump of blood.
"Sneaky thing! Cough!!"
Lucian muttered.
He had finally pinpointed the source of the issue. He had been poisoned, and ut had spread real deep.
"Hahaha. It’s finally taking effect!"
The man laughed estatically seeing Lucains tired stance.
His ability to use poison wasn’t limited to one type. He could use several types of poison and had even come up with ways to combine his poisons to create something more dangerous, just like the corrosive fog he had spread earlier.
Lucain had been infected directly by him, twice and had even spent a some time in his fog. He even took his attack head on without any care.
His absolute confidence in his flames blinded him to the capabilities of his enemy.
While his flames had burnt out the poison that had infected him, there was still a trace of another poison which even lucain couldn’t detect.
And that poison accumulated, spreading with each hit he took and blocked, and now it had finally started to take effect.
Lucain could feel his movements getting slower along with a faint cloud that hovered in his mind, dulling his senses and reaction.
’I have to end this, fast!’
Lucian’s eyes narrowed and the air around him changed as he straighted his back, the air around him flucating and on the ground, wisps of his black flames started to apprear.
"Level one restrictions, dissipate!"
Lucian muttered in what was nothing more than a whisper and almost instantly, the flames on his body flared up.
"What’s this"
The purple giant watched with a suspicious expression on his face.
Just like what he had gone through earlier, the opponent in front of him was undergoing some kind of change. The flames wrapping around him flared up suddenly like someone had poured some energy stones into it!
The ones on the floor too were burning brighter, melting the ground around them.
Yet despite all this, he couldn’t still feel any sort of heat from Lucian. All he could feel was a slowly increasing sense of alarm which exploded the moment a weapon appreard in his opponent’s hands. A thick and overwhelming aura of bloodlust washing over him.
"I don’t think I can bring him back alive at this rate. I should kill him and get this over with. The effects of the drug are starting to fade!"
The man muttered, releasing a little amount of poison fog and condensing them to form two short swords. The drug was only meant to be used in life or death situations, to give them a burst of energy allowing them to surpass their normal state and end the fight as soon as possible.
But the fight was starting to elongate past what he could handle. All this because he wanted to try bringing him in alive, a decision he had given up on.
Lucain on the other side was think the same thing as he glanced at the meteor hammer in front of him which had weighted end burning with the same black flame.
Taking the weapon into his hands, he looked at the man who was now wielding a pair of short swords.
’This poison is rather inconvenient!’
"So is this restriction!"
Lucian let out a deep breath, feeling the strength slowly leaving his body.
He slowly spun the weapon his hands, ignoring the man who was approaching him with the speed of a beast charge.
All he did was spin the rope of the hammer, slowly gathering momentum until all that could be seen was a black cirle formed from the several after images of his spinning weapon, and just then he opened his eyes.
The beast was in front of him!
BANG!
A single, loud sound was heard at the last moment as Lucian made his move, striking him right in the chest with the meteor hammer.
When the dust finally settled, all that remained was the body of the man embedded deep into the wall at the end of the street, his body covered in black flames which slowly retreated as the purple shade in his body died down and vanished completely.
Lucian staggered weakly, taking a seat beside the fallen opponent whose body had shrunk back to its original size.
"Restrictions!"
Lucain tapped several spots om his body and muttered those words, his aura deflating and reducing like a popped balloon.
He weakly brought the weapon on the chest of the man beside him to his wrist and a small light shone from the bracelet he wore absorbing the weapon into itself.
"Ahh!"
He groaned in pain, feeling the effects of the poison starting to activate again.
Releasing the level one seal on him allowed him to suppress the effects and focus on the fight, but now that the restriction was back in place. It had started to spread again and he had to take time to slowly burn it out of his system.
...
"Ughhhn! Ah! That hurts!"
The man let out a pained groan, as he tried to move his body from pile of rocks he laid on.
"Wha-?"
He paused seeing a huge sink in his chest and his mind started to flash with images.
’He held back!’
He could remember Lucian’s attack at the last moment. Even at a crucial moment like that, he was able to control the strength of his strike and not kill him, letting his flames finish him off instead.
The man shivered at the thought of those flames. When he came in contact with the flames, his body didn’t burn as he had expected after seeing the other guys that had been turned to ashes.
Instead, he had felt his energy get sucked out of him at an insane rate, just like that moment in the purple fog.
Even after all his energy was gone and he was forced to revert to his normal state, he could feel the hunger in the flames, wanting to take something more from him. A feeling that chilled his bones, but luckily, nothing like that happened.
’Must have been him!’
He thought stepping out of the wall he had crashed into. He had lost the fight completely and it was clear that Lucian kept him alive on purpose.
"He didn’t just leave, did he?"
He muttered looking around, before a figure embraced by black flames caught his eye.
Lucian was sitting cross-legged, burning the last bits of the poison from his body, a process be had been doing for the last four hours. He had to admit, even with man’s poor combat ability, the poison was top notch. A little more and he would’ve lost the fight because he failed to notice it.
"Sit down!"
He said, opening his eyes to look at the man who was attempting to run away silently.
Lucian’s voice caused the man go freeze, and he was left with no other option than to comply.
Right now, he had absolutely no energy, his body hurt like hell, especially the sink in his chest and it seemed like Lucian had done something to him as he was unable to even gather the tiniest wisp of energy within himself.
"I said sit!"
Lucian’s voice came again, and he took a sit om the floor, making sure to put some distance between them.
The flames slowly died down after w few minutes and he turned around to face him.
"What’s your name?"
"...."
"I guess you’re of no use then!"
A thick aura of bloodlust washed over the man as Lucian’s hand ignited in flames again as he made his way to the powerless victim on the floor.
"It’s E6!"
The man screamed in terror seeing those black flames again.
’A numbered name?’
Lucian thought, memories of No.5 flashing across his mind for a moment.
"Well, E6. We are going to have a very friendly chat!"
