Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 592: Arielle With Her Queen’s Duty
Arielle sat with Maxieno. It had been a week since the day of her coronation. She had always been watched over by Maxieno while she was giving warmth to the dragon eggs she was guarding. Arielle thought Maxieno came to congratulate her, but the man came to see the progress that she had made so far instead.
Ronan had already planned to kick Maxieno out because he didn’t like Arielle being under the dragon’s pressure every time she did something. However, Arielle managed to stop him. She didn’t want Ronan and Maxieno to have a fight when they had to see each other more often after this.
After Arielle was crowned as a queen, she did not forget to also start learning how to manage the cathedral affairs. It turned out that all the things she had learned were totally different from what she should have done later. Because Arielle was also still in the learning process, Ronan sent William and Priest Elis to guide and teach her.
Aimee came to inform her that it was now lunchtime. Arielle glanced at Maxieno who was sitting casually with his arms folded in front of his chest.
"Tch, human. Do you have to eat all the time?" he asked in annoyance. The man stood up and told Arielle to leave Abigail’s eggs.
Even though Maxieno always grumbled and uttered harsh words, the man never pushed Arielle beyond her limits. Even with a long grumble, Maxieno still told Arielle to rest, eat, or do other tasks.
Ronan said. "He has to be like that. If he crosses the line, I don’t care about your agreement. I will replace the head of his brother on my throne with his head," the man said angrily.
Arielle didn’t understand why her husband hated Maxieno so much. Maxieno didn’t do anything bad or hurt anyone. His presence was indeed quite unexpected, and Arielle didn’t know how long the man would stay in the palace. Maxieno never told her either. The man just said he wanted to check if Arielle did her job properly or not.
Then, Arielle invited Maxieno to have lunch together. Ronan couldn’t join this time. He had to leave the palace to check the phenomenon of people dying of hypothermia with Lazarus and William because the cases had increased again.
Irene soon joined in and sat beside Arielle to have lunch together.
"What about the other annoying wolf? I haven’t seen him in the past week," Maxieno asked about Arthur.
"Arthur doesn’t live with us. He prefers to live in another city where the former queen is buried."
"Oh, I see. It turns out that the child can live without his father too," said Maxieno while glancing at Irene.
Irene, who felt insulted, just lowered her head. She was afraid because she still remembered several other dragons shouting at her who couldn’t stop crying because her father was in so much pain.
Arielle rubbed Irene’s back gently. "Irene is learning to be independent. She will also become a brave woman after this," replied Arielle with a smile towards Irene.
Irene would like to thank Arielle for trusting her, but Maxieno’s intimidating presence made her just keep her mouth shut. Arielle could understand without Irene needing to say. The girl often refrained from speaking, but when they were alone, Irene wasn’t shy about revealing her side.
"Maxieno," Arielle called, causing Maxieno to click his tongue in annoyance.
Arielle immediately corrected the way she called the man. She knew she was wrong.
"Your Majesty Lord Maxieno, may I know how long you will be staying here?" asked Arielle who did not forget to praise the man.
Maxieno cut the meat into large chunks then chewed it greedily.
"Until I’m sure that you really do your job properly," said Maxieno who put another large piece of meat into his mouth. 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚
Maxieno received his second plate. The man ate voraciously. He would usually eat three times the portion of ordinary people and laugh at Arielle who was so skinny for eating only one plate. Of course, if Ronan was there, her husband would probably throw Maxieno a killing glare.
"Don’t you see every day that I have taken care of them properly?" Arielle asked again.
"Hmm.... I will go when my heart wants to. Whatever you think, you will not be able to understand my purpose. Dragons are far greater than humans and humans don’t have the right to determine anything related to the decisions that dragons make," Maxieno replied then accepted his third plate.
Arielle smiled after Maxieno had said that. All kinds of attempts she made to send the dragon back to Birwick were in vain.
"What are you going to do after this? Because I have to do something else."
Maxieno thought for a moment. He wanted to go for a walk, but Arielle had forbidden him to fly around Northendell in his dragon form. Luckily, when Maxieno came, he had turned into a human before entering the palace. Otherwise, he would be shot again by the palace guards or he would be targeted by the bandits outside the palace.
However, Maxieno also didn’t want to go around in his human form because he had to meet other humans. It was disgusting, he thought.
"If you don’t want to meet humans then go back to Birwick," said Ronan who had just arrived.
"Ugh.... I hate the smell of a werewolf like you," Maxieno said while holding his nose and left the dining hall.
Ronan threw him a sharp glare, and as Maxieno had got out of the dining hall, he walked over to his wife who was standing up to greet him. Ronan gave a brief kiss on the girl’s cheek then sat on the main seat.
He just nodded to Irene who also stood up to greet her brother.
Arielle and Irene sat back down.
"So, what do you get after visiting out?" Arielle asked curiously.
Ronan shook his head and then took a deep breath. "None of their mana flows were open. It all failed, as well as the five people who were in the orphanage," the man replied, making Arielle squeeze her chest that hurt and felt stuffy.
