Loving The Cursed Werewolf King-Chapter 625: The Ancient Curse (Cecillia’s Point Of Views)
Amadea? Wasn’t that the name... that my father used to say?
I turned to him to take another look at the man. Amadea was the name of the person my father always looked for. He was the guardian of Birwick Mountain, and the Kingdom of Birwick, which was near to Birwick Mountain, must have often heard of that legendary name. I also had heard the story several times.
It was a bedtime story that talked of a figure who always guarded Birwick Mountain and got the blessing of power directly from the Sun God. A figure who would protect Birwick Mountain from anyone who planned to destroy it.
But, that was an old legend.
"You still don’t believe it?"
I shook my head. Of course, I didn’t believe it. Amadea was a figure that was very difficult to find or meet. Even after years of searching for him, my father ended up finding nothing. My father had often come to the dragon clan for help, but he was rejected and always failed to locate the whereabouts of the werewolf clan.
Then, the man took me to a strange place. It was a flower meadow that reminded me of a small flower field in the middle of a forest near Birwick Castle, but this place was much wider. We walked along the lake until we reached the end of it where there was a small waterfall that was quite swift.
Underneath, there were large rocks, causing splashes of water and rainbows.
The man who claimed to be Amadea grabbed my body and carried me in his arms.
"I can walk by myself."
My protest was ignored. He just smiled and continued to lead me while climbing the rocks that led to the waterfall. I automatically tightened my arms when the man was about to enter the waterfall.
"I don’t want to get we.... ah...?"
I saw my body was still dry. Not even a drop of water got on me as we passed the waterfall. I looked up and saw a waterfall that split above the man’s head. Then, I stretched out my hand and the part of the waterfall was getting farther away as if avoiding my hand. Never had I seen such a thing before.
"How could that be?"
"Of course it can. Birwick Mountain is under my control. Anything I want, Birwick Mountain will always give it to me," he answered proudly.
The man dropped me off after we entered a narrow cave passage hidden behind a waterfall. He picked up a wooden torch, and I stared in awe as a flame lit up in his palm. The man casually touched the tip of the torch until it lit up, then the flame in his hand went out again.
"Surprised?"
I nodded. I was really shocked. I meant, I could sometimes touch the flame because I had tried a few. My mother said it was most likely because my senses weren’t so good, but I had never seen anyone produce flame from within their bodies like the man. Even the burn on my face from the hot tea water that Queen Alicia poured on my face hurt only for a moment.
Even though it was very painful and stinging at first, it didn’t hurt anymore. It wasn’t hot at all, and at night the man arrived to treat my face, I also didn’t feel any pain. Only the blister scars were also slowly healing.
"You can actually do it too."
"Me? Putting out fire like before?"
"Of course. Because we are both blessed people. We can have all kinds of natural powers if nature allows us to borrow them."
I still didn’t understand what the man was talking about. I saw the palm of my hand as we walked through the passage of the cave. My other hand was holding hands with the man who claimed to be named Amadea.
Amadea ... a legend who was said to have the power of the Sun God. In every hymn with other gods and goddesses, the Sun God always took the form of a phoenix and the Moon Goddess, his younger sister, always took the form of a white doe who would always come at night.
Slowly, the light began to infiltrate and the cave air became vigorous, as if there was a fresh breeze blowing past me. And a few moments later we made it to the end of the cave, which was covered by thick curtains of tendrils.
The man pushed aside the tendrils of the plant to make way for me.
"Welcome to my house. Birwick’s hidden paradise."
I was stunned to see it. I immediately pressed myself against him as a flap of wings flew right above my head. Several bright, colorful birds flock together in the sky. The river whose water was as clear as crystals was filled with various kinds of animals, ranging from rabbits, deer, birds, bears around it. Even a dragon with green scales was sleeping while snoring near a tree not far from where I was.
I was a little nervous when I looked up to see an owl staring at me intensely.
"It’s very lively. I thought you were living with the other werewolf clan members."
"I used to live with them, but now I have a duty to look after Birwick and they are all my friends. The clans in Birwick prefer to live in groups and are exclusive. They don’t like it when other creatures live with them, thus as a wise guard I choose to live elsewhere with several representatives of all creatures living in Birwick."
"Amadea... are you back yet?"
I was so surprised when I heard a resounding voice appear behind me. I turned my head and immediately covered my mouth at the sight of a huge creature before my eyes. It was much taller than a normal human.
"He is a mountain troll. One that lives in Birwick. He can’t see, so to communicate with him, we must be holding hands. He will remember all kinds of hands he has touched. Let me show you."
"Yeah, I’m back with my wife."
"Wife?"
I was confused when the man introduced me as his wife. I wanted to ask for an explanation, but the man put a finger to his lips, indicating for me not to say much.
"Oh... The Moon Goddess’s daughter has arrived? I want to get to know her."
The man pulled my hand slowly to place it on the palm of the mountain troll who also stretched his hand down.
"Oh... I can feel power from it. Once again, congratulations on your wedding, Amadea. I hope that after having a wife you will be more able to maintain your attitude."
"Hey! Don’t destroy my image in front of my wife, you fool!"
I was really confused about this whole situation, and I was still wondering how I could become his wife so suddenly?
"What is your name, O daughter of the Moon Goddess?"
The man nudged my shoulder to speak.
"Cecilia."
"Nice to meet you, Cecilia. Please be patient when facing Amadea. Sometimes he can be very dramatic and over the top, but he is a nice guy. I can guarantee that at least."
"Ugh ... you know, I sometimes wish that you were mute rather than blind," Amadea replied then pulled my hand away.
The mountain troll laughed so loudly that it made some of the birds perched nearby fly away because of the thunderous sound.
"And he also has a very impudent mouth," added the mountain troll.
Amadea... grabbed both my shoulders and pushed me away from the mountain troll. My eyes hadn’t stopped looking at the sleeping dragon near the tree.
"Amadea, I can’t read her mind. You protect him?"
"From a creature that likes to peek into the privacy of other creatures? Yes, I cover her head so you can’t see inside her head," Amadea answered sarcastically.
"You rascal," replied the dragon who then went back to sleep after glancing for a split second.
Wow. I didn’t understand what the dragon’s problem was, but seeing the dragon who didn’t like my presence, it seemed I wasn’t expected by many of these creatures.
"Oh, don’t think like that. Many of them are waiting for your arrival." Amadea came closer to whisper. "The dragons are just jealous. They can never beat me, so they are a little annoyed with me."
I smiled a little. Once again, he just read my thoughts without permission.
"Oops, I forgot I shouldn’t read your mind."
The man didn’t sound apologetic at all. He just chuckled after saying that. Then, we arrived at a wooden house that was almost the same size as the wooden house where the man had healed me earlier.
"Someone wants to meet you."
"Who?"
"The one who told me you were my mate."
The man opened the wooden door of the house. An old man with all white clothes and silver horns above his head stood when I entered the house.
"You must be Cecillia. I’ve wanted to meet you for a long time."
The man smiled at me, and I returned it with a smile too. I widened my eyes as I saw the horns on top of his head glisten.
"My task has been completed, Amadea. You’re with Cecillia now, but be careful. There is still unfinished business behind Cecilia’s back, and if you let it drag on, it will bring much calamity."
Amade waved his hand. "Cecilia, it’s Hylios. He comes from the unicorn clan who has the power to see the future, and the liquid that always heals you is the elixir of immortality that only unicorns have. The elixir that heals all kinds of wounds and illness. He can heal someone without leaving a trace of wounds because he is also a creature blessed by the Moon Goddess. Just like you."
